Bobby Burton reporting that Michael Terry took snaps at RB in practice.  Interesting.

You sure?

Guys, we have three RBs taking snaps. Wisner 98%, Clark 1% and Simon 1%. To say that this room has been mismanaged would be an understatement. I hope and pray we get Terry more involved, but seeing Sarkisian calling the plays I have my doubts. He's going to get Wisner killed or injured. Clark seems to be the most capable as he knows the playbook, but he's not getting enough snaps. Simon, although talented, does not know the playbook, thus runs into his own linemen. I don't know what we're going to do.

I hope we get Terry involved as a reprieve for Wisner, and to weaken the DL, but both Sark and Scott have done nothing to suggest that will happen.

Sark has to get run game going and play more ball control offense so Texas defense isn't on the field 40mins a game.   Can't give up on the run.  It's disappointing that our RB plan is dependent on a RB (Wisner) that's better suited to be RB2 or RB3...

Scipio Tex write-up

RUNNING BACK

Wisner is a third-down change-up back miscast as an every-down back that we deprived of the one run concept where he excels. I thought he ran fine, but he wasn’t able to do much after contact. He’s game in pass protection, but lost some physics battles. Wisner is currently averaging 3.8 yards per carry on the season. He has two carries longer than 10 yards.

Christian Clark had a hard run for 8 yards where he broke a tackle. That was the game-high longest run for the RBs. If you count RB runs and called runs with Arch, Texas ran 23 times for just 54 yards.

Lsu folks won't like new Texas RB coach...

Jabbar Juluke's Pregame Slap Led to Three-Game Suspension

During pregame warmups for the Florida vs. LSU game in Baton Rouge on Sept. 13 earlier this season, ESPN cameras caught Juluke slapping LSU safety Joel Rogers as players and assistant coaches exchanged words on the field. This led to some pushing and shoving before the altercation fizzled out.

Juluke, who is wearing a backwards black Florida hat in the clip, can be seen making quick contact with Rogers, leading to retaliation from LSU players.

Wisner has entered the portal.
New RB coach is going to have his work cut out for him.

Entering a not-yet open window is an interesting move.

Team rushing ranking of 101 doesn’t help matters either.

I wonder if that means Jadan Baugh is coming.  Why else leave?

Ugh all the "Wisner is just a guy" idiots are going to love this I'm sure.

Per Bobby Burton, Wisner was asking for $1MM for ‘26. That’s way too much for his production/injury history.

Any chance that Wisner ends up like the Tennessee QB that was asking for a lot that ended up at UCLA?

So here's what we're looking at for next season in the RB room for Juluke to work with–

Derrek Cooper

James Simon

Christian Clark

Michael Terry (we'll see if he plays in the bowl game since he's getting a run here)

Ryan Niblett

Jett Walker

At least two transfer RB's (hoping for Lacy and Baugh)

Juluke definitely has his work cut out for him, but he isn't lacking talent in the room, just experience and youth.

We need Flood to unfuck his face and get an OL that can actually block.

I bet he ends up at a G5 school. He could end up at UCLA or another school like Washington St, but he won't be on a roster on a high level team.

Wisner has entered the portal.

Nah. It’s not hard to coach zero running backs. Easiest money in coaching.

How are people surprised by this after this years rushing attack? RB wasnt the only problem but wholesale changes needed to be made. Wisner is a decent RB but far from electric or game changing. RB was the most obvious position where attrition needed to happen and the hope of adding better options from the portal.

Bowl practices likely helped Simon. Clark may know the playbook but the explosion is not there. Love the idea of Terry.

My only question is why didn't we use Townsend more? He had 4 games to use and we could have used him against fOSU to score, Georgia, and Florida. He's a stout mf'er. Instead we leaned on Wisner and a broken Baxter. We barely used Clark or Simon. We hamstrung ourselves just to preserve a RS when in reality we shouldn't have to do that anymore with the portal. Get these kids in, find something they're good at until they know entirety of the playbook and let's roll.

Whatever. I'm just glad Scott is gone. It sucks Gibson left because of him. I bet that's part of the reason Sark canned his ass. Running off a player who would have been a solid player and he didn't even let him play in the Florida game in front of his family. All it took was five games to run off a kid who had upside. Fuck Chad Scott.

I'll take that bet all day long. He may not get his asking price, but based on the top RB transfers in the portal last year, and where they ended up, I'd say he almost certainly ends up at a P4 school. He's a better bet than a lot of these jags as he has already put up a 1000 yd season (w/ 44 receptions) playing for an SEC team.

I'm talking about the likes of Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, FSU (he could go there, I suppose), Clemson, Bama, Oregon, pretty much any blue blood or CFP caliber team not named Nebraska. I don't don't doubt he can go to a P5 school, I just don't think he wants to share carries and believes he's a true RB1. I can see him landing at SMU, TCU, Washington St, Oregon St, Duke, UCLA etc.

I hope he gets a shot at a big time school, but his numbers don't reflect that. He's an average RB, not a Justice Haynes, Nick Singleton, Kaytron Allen, Jeremiyah Love, Makhi Hughes, Ahmad Hardy, Kewan Lacy, Jadan Baugh-type guy that can churn out yards if need be. He's just...average. He had one 100 yard game this year against aggy. One.

We'll see. If you are going to limit the list of schools to blue bloods or teams that were in this years CFP, that's significantly different than stating "I bet he ends up at a G5 school." Hell even SMU was in the CFP just last season.

I was just naming schools that popped into my head at that moment, nothing more. I honestly sat here wondering where he could land that would fit him, but as I was looking at rosters for teams just now that I mentioned he would be behind all of their RB's (outside of the SMU, TCU, etc). I think he could make money going to UCLA, and a degree from there is not a bad gig if he gets one in something that isn't bullshit. Maybe Oklahoma St? He doesn't need to go down a level, he just needs to be realistic in his choices. If he ends up at Bama, UM. Auburn, wherever, I'll cheer him on. I want him to be the best he can be no matter where he goes.

OU paid a shit ton for Jaydn Ott last year, and I bet they would have killed to have Tre on the roster this year.

Yeah, we all laughed at that, too. He had been injured and they were so desperate they paid him. That's an anomaly, tho. Venebals offense is abysmal, and Mater is terrible. Wisner wouldn't have done any better than their other backs in that offense. But hey, if they want to pay him his asking price, go for it. I Ike Wisner, but realistically he's average. He just is. I don't say this as an insult, I'm saying it because it's the truth. I like the kid. I love his hustle and grit. But hustle and grit don't translate to being awesome. He he one 100 yard rushing game this year, and had 3 last year. That isn't high level play.

ah, so now OU doesn't count as a desirable location either, gotcha.  He lit aggy up twice and they recruited him originally, they probably wouldnt qualify as a big time program either, huh?

Dude, I don't get what your endgame is here. You're acting like I don't like him or you think he's a clone of Deebo Samuel and I'm missing it somehow. No, I don't view aggy as a big time program. They've done nothing except get embarrassed. Yes, ou is a big time program but is offensively retarded. I'm genuinely confused as to what you think he offers when the numbers say otherwise? I didn't pull them out of thin air. They're right there for you to look at.

I'm sorry we disagree on Wisner and his abilities, but we'll just have to agree to disagree. You seem to think he needs a statue made because he was our only RB that literally had his yards cut in half this season. He had 4 total TD's this year, and 6 last year. He's a solid rotational back, not a RB1. Why do you think he's starter-level? Because he ran over aggy for 100 yards two years in a row, and once over ou last year? Great! He's an aggy and ou killer, and then disappears. Do you not think we need a better RB?

No end game. I just think its laughable that you think he wont get a lot of attention in the portal. But like I said, we'll see.

It's too bad the HC was too busy babysitting PK to tell the OC to get on his RB coach and get Gibson some touches... bet the OC had a playset for Gibson. Townsend seems like a prospect for those max-pro sets with RB lining looking like a blocker.
