I literally met some dumbass first time voter that said he will finally get dates after Trump gets elected and gets rid of all the undocumented workers, how did he ever reach that stupid conclusion? the new talk radio that did not exist a decade ago.

none of this has anything to do with Democrats or their agenda. and your dumb fucking take about "wokeness" just shows you to be an easy target for these evil messengers.

Woke is the aggressive use of identity politics to frame an issue/object/discussion.

This is the single most brilliant definition of woke I have ever seen

Or is SNL right-wing propaganda? STOP DOING STUPID SHIT!

Define woke.

Republicans - Radical leftist, socialist, freedom hating, identity politics, anti-American, horseshit.

democrats - everyone should have a fair shake and a seat at the table.

Hate motivates.

find someone better for the people to hate.

But don’t blame me and my people for this shit just like we don’t blame southern blacks for attacks on the voting rights act.

Gamergate was a right wing originated movement, its name was coined by Adam Baldwin, and weaponized by Steve Bannon, and perpetuated initially by the grifters of today, that is how Candace Owens got her start, Ian Miles Cheong, and Cernovich as well.

It would have been a footnote in history (instead of the dangerous avalanche that it is today) had the left behaved like mature adults and not like petulant children, grown adults arguing that bullying should be brought back to punish these kids, I was there it was a bloodsport.

Your ignorance on this is impressive. You really should do some basic reading on the etymology of "woke" in black culture before commenting further on it. You're coming off like an idiot and an asshole.

This is wrong. This "mature adults" vs. "petulant children" framing is straight up ahistorical. Do you not remember "when they go low we go high" and how well that worked? Whatever it was that happened in 2016 and in 2024, a handful of annoying left-wing internet personalities did not somehow move the overton window.

Actually there is an argument that the woke right does exist, the difference is they will not be punished electorally for it, while we are.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2025/02/woke-right/681716/

That does not mean we stop fighting for trans rights, just that it be done intelligently and not idiotically

And for the record I do know of its etymology, I am talking about how woke is defined today however.

bingo.

"woke" for idiot Republicans is a stand-in for "anything I don't like" just as they used "political correctness" until it got shortened to "PC" and these are all bad-faith maneuvers to avoid actually engaging in the specifics of any given topic to give the appearance winning an argument without ever making one in the first place. It's a bad-faith trick to avoid the consequences of ones actions or shitty opinions.

Yes they did, the overton for Gen Z was shifted hard those formative years.

Also Michelle Obama was talking about Trump being an asshole it had nothing to do with identity politics.

Woke politics however over the past 10 years have been bitter bitter vinegar from gender and sexual minorities. This made the news recently on another gamer drama, this is supposed to be a reporter at Vice

That said this is not a part of my theory.

However, I did browse linux examples of supposed representation of the toxic "wokies."

One is phone video of a woman I don't know screaming at a man I don't know due to an overaction to a word used in an inane conversation.

Like his first example of woke-ism, the article from a reputable source that never uses the word "woke," he shares another highly influencial public announcement. Just gaze in awe at how it spread like wildfire to rouse the loathing of whoever linux is talking about.

Are you a Limbaugh clone? This was his main technique. Somebody nobody knows or cares about said some crazy shit about how there should be armed negroes at every polling place! The guy's a registered Democrat. Folks, this is what we're up against. Liberalism seeks to turn you all to dependents of the state lorded over by thugs with guns on every corner!

You seem to be hunting outrage to generate fear. You say "us" when you mean democrats. I know you're talking strategy to gain power rather than philosophy. That seems to be the way the GOP got where it is today. This will be especially true if we shun the targets of fascist Trumpism which would amount to acquiescence to whatever fate the fascists subject them to. That's capitulation IMHO. I won't be a party to that. The Dems will have diminished what distinguishes us.

Should that happen, I'll be like the refugee conservatives on these threads. I'll have no home.

People want instant gratification in the form of easy answers ("these females be bitches yo") instead of the expectation of being a half-decent person.

No, because I was using the definition of woke circa 2011, before the GOP even had a shot at redefining it. Woke was invented in the 70s by the black community, pretty much stopped being used but came back in the 2010s, the 2010s definition is the one I am using and most people use.

Republicans have tried to redefine it to mean all leftist politics but I do not use that definition.

The left wing version of right wing culture noise bullshit is way worse and alienates a much larger audience. That's why left is losing younger vote at a bad pace. Both sides are alienating groups of people but the group of people being alienated by the rights version is much smaller where as the left's version is alienating a much much larger marginalized group.

I said earlier in this thread the left needs to ease back on some of that stuff so they can win and take all house, senate, presidency. If you don't do that you can't protect the people you campaign to protect....and once they get all 3 they need to actually put forth permanent laws to protect these people.

I will agree equality probably moved too fast to avoid a backlash in the 1960’s for racial equality and in the 2010’s for LGBTQ equality. But to blame the backlash on those seeking equality is fucked up.

some nasty people took advantage of young men who were already seasoned from their fathers and others who were vulnerable otherwise in online communities. They spread vile nasty shit, creating enemies out of women, people of color and queers. And some of the worst of it was blaming wokeness and radical leftists and feminism for why these dudes can’t get laid as if subjecting women to discrimination and control is how they will end up with a satisfied life of love and happiness. What the fuck ever.

the backlash was inevitable, but the blame resides squarely on those who hate.

learning from history we have to hope we can survive trumpism, and get to a better place because if we do, the reasons for passing modernized civil rights laws is clearly before us today.

I think it will take a while and I’m not sure I’ll be around to see it, maybe maybe not, but the pendulum will swing back if we have a country remaining.

the goal now has to be to hold back the worst.

and for the love of god fathers on this board get your sons off their consoles and out into the real life world.

You just made up a definition to fit your narrative.

Radical right wing folks took a word from the Black community and co-opted it into a pejorative when it’s original use and meaning was meant for Blacks to stay more informed about what was going on.

Well you're very much wrong about it as it had more specific meaning than your definition but that's kinda the point I'm trying to get you to see.

If there's no clear definition of what it means to "stay woke" from the crowd screaming about wokeness, its usage is done in bad faith and undermines the community it's aimed to protect by making it as a derisive pejorative for, say, blackness.

I've got to say that reaching back 50 years to tie this century's version of woke to the vedy scairy Black activism of the last century smells even more of Limbaugh's delightfully rotting carcass. I'll agree that the current use of "woke," which is more of an attitude than a movement as the fascists claim, does emerge from the Floyd murder/BLM but you overlook the power of Me Too.

I'm a little woke and working on being woker. I don't receive a newsletter from some illusory movement. I know of no organization although I'm sure you can comb the internet and find some woke group somewhere that's about as significant as your other evidence.

Your study of wokism and embrace of the Trumpist dogma claiming the "Wokies are coming! The Wokies are coming!" makes your intentions suspect to me. Maybe you're adopting that terminology in reference to what the fascists are doing, but your statements seem declarative.

You need to believe in a toxic Woke movement as much as the Trumpists need to use that illusion of one to scare voters. They put the phobia in homophobia by painting all of them as predators interested only in sexual gratification. Some of them actually teach your kids!

The gender gap was more pronounced among young voters

Trump made significant gains among young men, according to the AP’s exit polling, winning 56% of the vote, compared to 2020, when he won just 41%.

To Della Volpe, it’s part of a trend he has been watching for years, where a significant number of young men, especially those who have grown up with Trump, feel disconnected from the modern Democratic Party.

“They're telling us in our surveys and our focus groups that the Democratic Party doesn't speak to them. They’re choosing not to be affiliated with it. This is something that you can't turn around in 30 days or 100 days,” he said. “To do this takes years of investment. Donald Trump made that investment. And I think much of that playing field was ceded by Democrats.”

Young women, on the other hand, did break for Harris. She won the group by 18 points – though still by a margin that was lower than four years ago.

15% IS MASSIVE and also lost young women vote.

Same with school boards. Believe it or not the “no balls in women’s sports” signs backfired in lake Travis this time. And we didn’t talk about trans kids.

Liberals did turn out, and ordinary folk said “enough with the hate already” … you know what my intro speech is was? Every kid deserves a quality education and to be protected. From the football player with peanut allergies who deserves to be protected from hazing to the queer kid in theatre who deserves to be protected from bullying. Every child deserves the right to learn in a safe environment. I then pivoted to the hate and the poor example it sets for our kids, the naive claims they should DOGE the district and said education is where we begin to fix the mess that’s our country. Next thing you know we beat those fucking assholes.

As for the cause, when are we going to see the left finance bot farms and algothrim manipulation to expose the billionaire class as the culprits of the problems facing all of us especially young men? You’re supposed to provide for a family yet globalization, raping the earth, taking tax dollars and paying billionaires, gutting programs that will help your family and shifting it to tax cuts for massive yacht owners? When will the democratic socialist nations of Northern Europe finance propaganda to influence our elections?

The problem with the left is purity I agree, Al Franken was a fucked up situation, but the left isn’t in a position to engage as the right has because well, it goes against the very nature of who they and we are.

i agree there needs to be a change in messaging and strategy but the playing field is not level and it’s not going to be. Doesn’t mean equality for all wont advance but it does mean when the republicans fight like rabid hyenas the dems are going to be at a disadvantage with those that are vulnerable to hate filled messaging.

It's not just latinX for decades the far far left has been ostracizing men and you're finally seeing it in the votes. Democrats HAVE to reel this in moving forward as the 18-45 age group is the most populus block of voters for the next 40-50 years. Boomers run is almost over. To borrow from Stone's really excellent movie, Nixon, the president stands before the portrait of JFK and says:

They look at Kennedy and see who they want to be.

They look at me and see who they are.

There was some aspiration to the idealized symbol of JFK to accompany the bad aspects of Nixon.  Now, you can conjoin the sentences for Trump looking lovingly at his own portrait, they look at me and see who they are and who they want to be.

The voters have either spoken or acquiesced. They're redefining USA. There's every reason to think that the successor to Trump might be exactly like him. That seems to be the aim of some posters here.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, has announced it will stop using the controversial gender-neutral term “Latinx” in its official communications.

Last week, LULAC president Domingo García directed the group to cease the term’s usage, NBC News reports. García explained the term is “very unliked” by nearly all Latinos. The term is not being banned from usage within LULAC, however.

Yup it was such a non plus that it had to have directives to stop using it, LatinX has mostly died in recent years after the pushback was impossible to ignore.

t's not just latinX for decades the far far left has been ostracizing men and you're finally seeing it in the votes.

How so exactly? Be specific. Is it the Me Too movement stuff that made a lot of men uneasy with past behaviors? I'm a 55 year old man and I've done some shit thereof that I can say I'm not proud of but those teachable moments didn't make me feel ostracized by the left to the point where I'd vote for racist authoritarian fascist-enablers who want to undo all the progress we've made as a nation at the expense of real-world voting issues that matter to me.

That just proves the point dude. Nobody gave a shit about that except some random academics. Congratulations on finding a news link about it, now ask yourself why it was newsworthy in the first place if it was never really a topic of importance on the left. Could it have anything to do with that right-wing news media you keep taking your cues from?
