Well, the announcements of our new OC, OL coach, and DBs coach are encouraging. I'm sure the GM replacement will come out soon.

Wait.... none of those have been announced? I'm sure we'll hear them all very soon, because we all agree change is in order. Right?

All coaching changes happen immediately

We have fans who think this season means Steve Sarkisian's seat is warm.

It's pretty funny.

Steve doesn't make the playoffs next year he won't be back in 27.

Put whatever level of heat you like on that reality.

Yep. Arch will be gone. If Sark wastes another season I'd bet money we move on.

Can we put some of our fan base on the hot seat?

Yep Arch would be the 2nd NFL QB Sark had squandered. No one is reasonably letting a head coach go through 2 NFL QBs without a NC at Texas. Mack had 2 and at least got one before he "hung up his cleats" for a slackers pay check.

You're not being reasonable.

First and most importantly - there are head coaches who have gone through several "NFL QBs" and not anything close to what Sark has won. You really think we're gonna fire the guy who recruited Ewers in the portal and snagged Manning? Just because he didn't win the NC?

Second, have we really come around to Ewers as an "NFL QB," like he went in the first round? I love the dude, but let's be real about what he was. That we were in contention for a national title with him under center is point in Sark's favor.

Third, You really want to fire a guy who made the playoffs twice, made the SEC CCG, won the Big 12, and has consistently recruited classes in the top-5? Dude literally just recruited the No. 1 class last year. He's 47-20 at Texas, with only 8 of those losses coming since 2022.

I applaud your high standards and on an emotional level agree with your sentiment, but there is no way in hell that we are firing Sark next season for missing the CFP.

So is Quinn’s relative under achievement due to him or our qb whisperer

My "high" standards?

Being a top 10 team and making the CFP with the #5 paid coach and top 5 NIL teams in the nation. Know what other teams fit that bill:

Oregon, OSU, Georgia and Bama.

Instead of a top 10 and CFP team here are the team offensive results:

Total Offense: #75

Scoring Offense: #52

Passing Offense: #44

Rushing Offense: #101

TOP: #106

Sacks Allowed: #71

Tackles for Loss Allowed: #106

Penalties: #126

Lost to Florida, struggled against MSU and Kentucky.

Ewers is being paid as a QB in the NFL, don't know how you're even trying to dispute whether or not he's an NFL QB. Speaking of, was it Ewers that made the shitty calls that have now lost to Washington, Georgia x 3, and OSU x 2?

If you think winning recruiting "national championships" keeps a coach his job:

Put it on the wall!!!!

Jalen Hurts and JJ McCarthy too right?

Tua won a title, but not Hurts.

I guess JJ and Stetson are technically NFL QBs as well.

AI screws up a lot. I only use it for fun. I cannot imagine having to rely on it for any practical purpose and frankly I have yet to find any uses for AI chatbots that I couldn't have done just fine before. That might be a lack of imagination on my part. But usually I am saying things like "give me 10 ideas for X" or "Why did this occur?" Just a few years ago I would have just done an internet search on those questions and gotten basically the same info. It just would have taken a bit more time. The fact that plenty of the information is wrong just shows how little different it is from just looking through the internet for info.

Didn’t Hurts play the first half of the title game? Also, don’t forget Jameis Winston

You're in your feelings and I get it. I sympathize. I'm on this board every day and I know every argument you've made or could make.

But the idea that we would fire Sark next season simply for missing the CFP is not reasonable. He would have to crash and burn into a losing season, or have some massive scandal fall, for it to be reasonable to even consider firing him 2026.

You have your head in the sand. No amount of data is going to stop you from supporting Sark until the floor falls out. I know your type. I got to know you year 2 of Strong and Herman. You're hero worshipping a failure. I get it, and soon enough you will too. These following is data, not feelings. Not sure if you understand the difference:

Total Offense: #75

Scoring Offense: #52

Passing Offense: #44

Rushing Offense: #101

TOP: #106

Is Lanning on the hot seat if he doesn’t natty with Moore? That’ll be 2 NFL QBs in a row with no natty 😩😩

You dummy, everyone is on the hot seat!

13-3 (conference champion, final 4, top 5 recruiting class), 12-2 (conference runner up, final four, number 1 recruiting class), 9-3 (no playoffs, top 10 recruiting class) = HoT sEaT

Maybe I'm misremembering, but isn't that like saying Tebow won a championship?  He was on the team, but Chris Leak won it.

Hurts was the Bama QB in 2017 and 2018. It was 18 when he got benched vs Georgia.

I'll take one last shot at this, and then I'm going to move on:

I'm not talking about what I want to happen or what I don't want to happen. My subjective feelings have nothing to do with what is reasonable and what is unreasonable.

His buyout will be $55 million in 2026. The No. 1 recruiting class in 2025 will still have one year left before any of those guys are draft eligible. Sarks track record at Texas, while perhaps not what we want, is not bad enough to warrant firing the guy. Nobody gives a shit about our rushing stats or misses in the OL room. That shit is the trees, and you need to look at the forest.

Sark is the most successful coach at Texas since pre-2010 Mack. Going 9-3 in 2026 cannot reasonably justify paying Sark's enormous buyout, risking the loss of one of the most talented rosters we've ever had, and throwing us into the backroom casino that is a coaching search.

Take this to heart or don't, it doesn't make a difference to me because I'm not arguing with you. I'm just trying to tell you how it is.

This isn't the same game. NIL changes the game. The people who contribute heavily care and while you might justify not firing him for not making the CFP, the people who put millions in aren't as understanding as you are with that result.

Many of the recruiting and CFP data points you're hanging on to could also be said of the new Virginia Tech head coach.

CFP isn't that high a bar and if a coach is not capable of getting there consistently he needs to be coaching at a school that is okay with those expectations.
