Next you’ll tell us Arsenal just ran out of time.
Also you keep referring to things as “facts”, Arsenal having the worst injuries in the history of soccer for example, but then ignore the injury table posted right above that says the opposite.

Look at the table guy. Brentford, Brigton, Wolves, Spurs all had more games missed through injury than Arsenal. Can you fucking read?

it’s very telling that you refer to that chart, yet you haven’t even acknowledged any of the facts that i’ve posted about injury crisis, from that fact that we suffered more injuries (36) than any other epl team, or the fact that the two teams ahead of us in the table you referenced did not suffer injuries that were remotely as significant as arsenal’s injuries in terms of which specific players suffered the injuries.

which, btw, means that even at best case scenario we were the third most injured team in the league, and in your mind that’s “the opposite” of arsenal suffering lots of injuries? yeah, you’re not being aggy at allllll. 🙄

Lulz. Arsenal not even the most injured team in the league this year, let alone historically but you’ve been telling us all week how horrible it’s been.

Learn to fucking read clown.

That’s entirely subjective. For some reason you can’t understand what that word means.

Who cares? How many games did they miss? If a player gets injured in international break and misses no games why should anyone care. Goddamn what’s wrong with you?

except that we literally suffered more injuries than any other team this year, and the players who suffered those injuries make up a far more important contingent of our team than any other team with “comparable” injuries. making you wrong.

your outright refusal to ever address any of this despite it being posted literally four times now says it all. there’s no point in discussing any of this with you. you have zero desire to be honest. it’s become tribalistic at this point. maga, aggy, whatever you want to call it- you, fireman’s, the spurs fans who’re “dunking” on arsenal because they lost 22 epl games and beat BgFgshensjdh FC in their pop warmer tourney are all embodying it. it’s pathetic, and there’s no point in discussing anything with people who behave like this.

lmao holy shit, this is exactly what im talking about. you see a tweet that references a bunch of arsenal’s best players all missing 3+ months and your response is, “oh some guys got hurt over the international break and didn’t miss any games, who cares?”

lmao. i’m done. you’re so far gone. and you say that someone else here is “aggy”. jesus christ that’s rich.

It’s been addressed by the injury table that shows Arsenals games missed through injury were not more than 4 other clubs. You want to place more value on your injuries which is entirely subjective.

Grow the fuck up dude. Spurs won a trophy. Arsenal didn’t. Ever since that’s been pointed out you’ve been on one.

Honestly can you read? Which team had the most games missed through injury? How else should we determine who suffered more injuries? Should we just ask you?
If Liverpool has a player suffer 50 different injuries during the season but he doesn’t miss any games, why does that matter to anyone?

I haven’t read this page fully yet, but I’m going out on a limb to say if it wasn’t Spurs winning Europa League (or ManU) he celebrates that trophy as a worthy one to win.

I think this is where the primary discrepancy rises from, we have two very different numbers here, 19 vs 36. The guy that generated the table got out of transfermarket data. Arsenal’s data is here: https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-arsenal/ausfallzeiten/verein/11

Your data is just some dude citing a number in a tweet with what to back it up? He’s also a fan of Arsenal, so he has an agenda. Tell me where that data comes from and then we can talk since you’re the one talking about “FACTS.”

Just to be clear I know the 36 number isn't your data but some other guy that came up with that. I just wanted to know how he came up with that number. At least give us an apples to apples comparison. We know where the chart data is from and how to calculate it. I want the same for his number.

I can't even keep up with what exactly you guys are arguing anymore.    That chart that keeps getting posted shows Arsenal had worse injuries than anyone good enough to finish top 7.     But the chart also leaves out a lot of context, like who was injured, which is kind of an important data point.   I did a quick look at the Brentford injuries on Transkamarket, it appears most of their injuries come from guys who wouldn't even be starting if they were healthy.

What I'm wanting to know is where the tweet that @Derka posted is coming up with his data.

The chart I posted that compares each team gets their data from Transfermarket and you can easily figure out how to get to their number of 19 for Arsenal - Look at a team's injury page, each player with one or more red crosses is 1 injury. So I want to know how a guy that comes up with almost 2x that number gets to that number.

I get no injuries are the same, but that's immaterial - much like bad calls it balances out. Hell, I would wonder if we could name the best starting 11 for Brentford?

We will just have to agree to disagree on that.   Arsenal were extremely fortunate with injuries last season compared to this season, it made a huge difference.   As for that 36 #, it can only be total injuries, not players.   Arsenal Roster was only like 24.

Posted

If that is the case, I'm calling BS on that number being the most. Spurs has 38 injuries counted that way and their list of missing players almost encompasses the starting 11. Some of the bigger players:

Solanke
Son
Maddison
Kulusevski
Bergvall
Bentancur (not to mention his suspension)
Van de Ven
Romero
Vicario

So like I said, Arsenal isn't special, they are like everyone else.

Well I should say everyone else that didn't win a trophy.

White, Timber, Calafirore, Gabriel, Tierney, Tomiaysu, Zinchenko, Odegard, Merino, Saka, Jesus, Kai all missed significant time.

The Arsenal injuries kept them from competing for the title (still likely don't win it, but I think it comes down to the last week or 2).  TBF, Spurs did have more injuries than I realized, probably the difference in them finishing 17th and 12th, maybe even as high as 10th.  But the good news is, thanks to beating ManU in the europa league, Spurs are stuck with Ange to start next season.

I'm not sure sticking with Ange is awful. It might be, but we'll see.

I will say this - before Spurs had their rash of injuries - they were 4th in the table and had just smoked City at home 4-0. That was the first of many games without their starting central fullbacks and they lost their #1 keeper after that. Spurs were awful without Van de Ven and Romero on the backline, take away Vicario teams ...

Wait, we've been told multiple times, in this thread, that injuries arent an excuse and they even out.   So 17th is who Spurs are.   That seems pretty awful.

and I said it before Ange went all in on Europa, he sat a lot of starters in the EPL season to win the trophy. That’s not an excuse, that prioritizing.

no other team came remotely close to missing this many important players for this amount of time. this is just a fact. 80% of the people here have denied that this is even true, while the other 20% say it doesn’t matter, that it all evens out- which is just another way of saying that it isn’t true.

that’s why this is so stupid. arsenal has won 0 trophies under arteta, which has made aresnal the laughingstock of this thread. so why deny that arsenal got hit harder by injuries than anyone else last season? why lie, and say that this isn’t true, when at the end of the day it changes nothing? it’s just petty, immature bullshit.

is there a single person here who would have slammed liverpool had they played without salah, vvd, mac allister, grabenberch, roberts, and TAA for months on end and not won the league? of course not. yet when it happens to arsenal this entire thread either denies our factual injury record, or says it doesn’t matter. same people who quoted all of those injuries and somehow warped it into “some guys got hurt during the international break and didn’t miss any games.” just laughably biased.

yeah. that’s aggy. as. fuck.

white-odegaard-saka is our entire attack. all three missed 3+ months.

gabriel is one of the 3-4 best cb’s in the league and crucial to our attack as well

timber, calafiore, white, zinchenko, tomiyasu, and tierney are all fullbacks. thomas partey has to play RB for months. MLS was our fourth string LB at the beginning of the year and he ended up as one of our most important players due to this insane, unequaled fullback injury crisis. and timber might be the most underrated player in the EPL. he’s a 7-8 out of 10 every single game

havertz and jesus are our two main strikers. havertz was our leading epl goal scorer with 9 goals. NINE goals. that’s what we were working with up front, while also missing odegaard and saka, our captain and vice captain.

and yet arsenal still did better than everyone save liverpool in the epl, and better than everyone in the epl in the champions league. “literally nothing impressive.” lol ok.

all of this injury mayhem either doesn’t matter or doesn’t exist, depending on who you ask. nope. they can’t just say, “sucks to suck! should have bought some strikers!”. they have to sent the truth, to lie, and to argue based on that bald faced lie, and to talk shit based on that blatant lie, and then lie some more about it just for fun, all while circle jerking and high fiving each other over tottneham’s “impressive” 22 loss season.
