So an artist pulled out of the performance at the Kennedy center because of Fat Boy and now they are trying to sue the artist for $1 million because of a “political stunt.”

I don’t know what to think but there is an odd fact that we had a former/soon-to-be president almost assassinated and we know next to nothing about that incident.

The lack of information comes across that if it hadn’t occurred in public with 100s of camera, we literally would have zero information.

We also know next to nothing about the Kirk assassin.

The video is very persuasive. Compare the crowd reaction at the Kennedy assassination or even the Kirk assassination, those crowds hit the ground and/or fled. Why was this crowd different? Is it the big lie? It's almost inconceivable that so many hundreds of people could have been included in a fradulent demonstration of such importance. But maybe that's the genius.

The actions staging the photo were well shown. I hadn't gathered that from earlier videos presented with no examination. The flag being lowered into the frame of the shot really stands out to me.

There's this as well:

The two dead persons. The assassin was perhaps paid to act the role unaware he would be killed as part of the script? I just looked up the firefighter and all the coverage is the usual eulogy stuff that the news template calls for. If a shot was heard and he took a bullet in the stands behind Trump, again, where is the crowd reaction? Did they find a way to shoot him that the crowd would not notice? Wouldn't some molecule of morality keep the conspirators from murdering people to promote a lie? January 6. Gallows. Dead cops. Trump shows no discomfort with that.

I don't go for conspiracy theories, but ignoring those theories altogether makes the world safe for such conspiracies. I hadn't looked much at this until the last hour. It stinks.

Lastly, Trump is a coward. He ran to the war bunker when BLM was peacefully demonstrating outside the gates of the White House. The secret service would have to use that crane to pry Trump from his crouch on the stage if he thought he was in danger. His little hands would be gripping the floor boards like grim death itself.

I think I may be convinced. I'm sure we can rely on the big news media to set aside their template to really dig into this.

Sure.

One more Sinatra fact- his mother was a Democratic ward boss and political organizer in the Italian immigrant community called “Hatpin Dolly,” because she was a midwife but also did abortions for the women in the neighborhood, leading Francis to be banned from singing in the church.

Damn immigrants.

Frank Sinatra calling a group of kids Nazis with a grin on his face goes fucking hard.

And judging by how quickly Frank went to calling those kids Nazis for pretty milquetoast religious bigotry in tyool 2025, we should've been calling these people Nazis way sooner than we did.

He might have gotten more conservative in his older years, as is the fashion of the olds, but he was one of first celebrities to fight segregation in the 50s and 60s.

Jim Beam closes its distillery for 2026. In Trump's America, even Bourbon is heading for the rocks

In lore, America is motherhood and apple pie. Close behind is Bourbon — a whiskey that must be made in the US (among other things) to be so called. Its formulation dates back two centuries to the distilled corn mash spirit made in Bourbon County, KY. The whiskey is entwined with moonshining. Which, in turn, underpinned NASCAR's rise. It is as American as the flag.

Yet in MAGA America, its sales are declining so badly that Jim Beam will shut down bourbon production at its Clermont, KY., distillery through 2026. That’s not great. However, this production shutdown is a useful symbol of America’s economic doldrums under Trump.

MAGA apologists may try to blame the Jim Beam production cut on a general stagnation in distilled spirits sales. In 2024, after decades of significant growth, hard liquor sales volume declined. However, the dollar value of sales increased. In addition, market predictions indicate that liquor sales will grow slowly in the near term.

So why is Jim Beam shuttering its main distillery for at least a year?

So what’s the truth? The answer is bifurcated. Demand for Bourbon, specifically, has decreased. And Trump’s tariff policies have exacerbated the decline. We could call Jim Beam a victim of the Law of Unintended Consequences. The more direct would say the company FAFOed. The Herald put it thus:

The move comes as Kentucky’s $9 billion bourbon industry grapples with a glut of whiskey and a slump in demand at home. In response, the industry has pulled back production by more than 55 million proof-gallons (an industry unit of measurement) or more than 28% through August, the lowest level since 2018.

At the same time, exports have been curtailed to major trading partners; Canada has been boycotting American spirits since March in retaliation for President Trump’s ongoing trade war and U.S. whiskey sales to that country are down by more than 60% through October.

Other Kentucky companies including Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey maker Brown-Forman also have announced layoffs or shorter pauses in production earlier in the year.

Trump promised that his tariffs would increase American manufacturing. Jim Beam is proof that that promise had the honesty of a typical Trump promise.

They voted for the moron so enjoy the finding out phase.

Hilarious how they have to fellate Trump even in a letter to someone else.

That place can kick rocks. Hope it burns to the ground at some point for willingly putting that goblin’s name on there without any pushback.. The person that wrote that letter also deserves to get hit repeatedly in the face by a wrecking ball.

Well, the Kennedy Center is ours. It's not the center's fault that Trump appointed a bunch of lickspittles to unlawfully rename it.

I suppose, though, that there was some kind of contract governing that show that Redd breached.

It's kind of hilarious that in the same breath he says "you're worthless" but "you cost us a million dollars." Also, the show in question was free, so it's not like they lost a big box office.

For whatever reason, I am more extremely annoyed by teh gays and teh Jews in his administration.

The key word in the first sentence that needs to be added is it WAS ours. We are not living in that country anymore. Our country is run by fascists now. Fascists take what they want. They took the Kennedy Center and slapped his name on it. Once that happened that place no longer stood as an honorable American institution. It’s now just another tool used by American fascists so if it ever gets destroyed I won’t be upset. Build a new one once this bout with fascism ends. Right now the people controlling it are an enemy to Americans who are not fascists.
