I think we've earned a #1 ranking, however, AP voters in WCBB usually don't drop teams unless they lose. We'll be ranked #2 on Monday

Agree. But we will steal a lot of votes from UConn. But Creme may move us to the #1 overall

How much is the Texas share of the “NIL donation” going to the teams in this tournament?

Each school gets $1 million in NIL funds

I think upthread it was mentioned that Vic said it’s all going to the players.

but I’m tired and misread and that’s not close to what you asked.

If we split it evenly, each player is getting a little over $76k

I read that somewhere, too … just couldn’t remember the total amount.

Love Jordan Lee 's post game interview. Very mature, and no signs of complacency. Points to the mindset and culture Vic has built.

"What kind of statement did y'all make over the past two days?"

"No statement really. We went out and performed, but we know we're not a finished product and we're going to continue to grow and get better throughout the year"

Betts is out against Duke. Did we break her? Lol

Probably a little sore after Booker took her down. I was surprised Betts and Carlton both shook off those wrong-way extremity bends to return to play almost immediately.

Left arm after it got kind of awkwardly pinned under Booker. Nothing dirty about it

This is always the correct attitude after a big early season game. You know the opponent will be better in March, you better plan on working so you're better then, too.

Didn't phrase my point very well. As Booker dove to get a loose ball, Betts reached in and her arm got pinned. The "takedown" was purely an accident due to Betts' own action.

If we do this for the next two years that doesn’t hurt the recruiting any.
“Yes potential recruit, you do get 76k for a weekend in Vegas”

Players Era results and analysis

No. 4 Texas 66, No. 2 South Carolina 64

The SEC schedule has the Longhorns and Gamecocks slated to play only once during the regular season (Jan. 15 in Columbia). So their matchup in Thursday's championship game of the Players Era event was a bonus. And it did not disappoint.

Two of the best teams in the country played like it and solidified their status as favorites for No. 1 NCAA tournament seeds. Rori Harmon's pullup jumper with 0.7 seconds left won it for Texas, which is now firmly established as the No. 2 team in the country behind UConn Huskies after beating two top-five teams in Las Vegas (the Longhorns beat No. 3 UCLA Bruins on Wednesday).

Madison Booker came alive for the Longhorns in the fourth quarter, scoring 8 of her 16 points, as Texas came back from an 8-point deficit late in the third period.

South Carolina, led by Joyce Edwards' 16 points, will now slot in at No. 3 overall in Bracketology, which will be fully updated on Tuesday.

Somehow they were preseason ACC favorites. Either they were overrated as shit, or the ACC is butt cheeks

Between Duke and NCST, the ACC has been disappointing. ND looks above average, but not elite. Same with UNC.

SEC > B1G > Big 12 > ACC

Vic confirmed in his postgame that Texas is doing this for 4 or 5 years total.

Definitely seems like a down year in that league. Duke might win it, but at the moment they're staring 3-5 in the face and not scaring many folks. Watching them play, I'm not even sure what I'd say their strength is.

My Christmas wish is that the men’s team might learn the concept of teamwork and playmaking .. cutting, screening, passing, inbound plays .. from the women.

Now, you can get off my lawn …

It looks like their best player ( tall white GILF) didn’t play

If you mean Kitts, she tore her ACL and is out for the year
