Presumably they wont play 80 more double overtime games.

Presumably the best player in the NBA would play like less of a Euro-bitch free-throw whore.

what an absolutely incredible first three nights of the nba season.  from the return of the nba on nbc, to espn not fucking with inside the nba at all (yet at least), and some awesome fucking basketball games, it has just been a great start to the season (on the court).  the fucking thunder have played back to back double overtime nationally televised games to start the season.  unreal.

This Ajay MItchell cat looks legit.  More young talent - just what OKC needs.

Second round draft pick and he looked really good last year until he got hurt.  NBA size and  can score from most anywhere.  Solid defender.  By the end of this season, he'll be good enough to be a staring PG on a good team.  Great pick up.

Watched 40 seconds of that.

#4-5 and 6-7, 8-9, minimally.

NBA refs have decreed that sneezing on SGA is a foul. And, to his credit, he works it.

It's terrible basketball to watch. Besides just stopping the game and rewarding questionable offense (jumping into defenders on pump fakes, as one example), it alters how teams play the sport, and will play the sport moving forward if it continues.

Spot on. This is some 2006 Dwayne Wade bullshit on steroids. And so much of this doesn't show up on the stat sheet. Once these teams see how it's being called, they change the approach. And SGA gets easier paths and shots because the defense is playing softer because they know any little contact gets called. The way he seeks out contact and embellishes contact is terrible basketball.

And it goes beyond just him. Go watch the playoffs last year for OKC. They were allowed to play a completely different game vs their opponent. This allowed them to go on big runs, shoot higher percentages because they get easier looks. Denver was very close to going up 2-0 going back home but Scott Foster stepped in to tie that series. And they also gave him the assignment for game 7.

Aside from OKC fans, the overwhelming majority of fans have the same feelings on this OKC team. They are the product of NBA manufacturing. So many down play it until their own team has to face them in a playoff series and you see it day after day. I saw this in 2024 when Dallas played them round 2. Luckily, Luka and Kyrie were able to overcome the ref fuckery. But in 2025, it seemed it ramped up even more.

Well said.  Can't say I have anything to add.

Jokic jacking up 3’s in overtime with AG going 10-11 for 3 is definitely an approach. Stupid loss Nuggets.

Yeah, it was a bad loss.  Jok  was off last night, though (and so were Braun, Murray and Johnson).  And when he's off they usually lose. Hate to see them waste AG's career high.

GS is so old there's no chance they make it through the season healthy. Horford, Curry, Jimmy and Draymond all playing 30+ minutes a night isn't going to last.  And that assumes Jimmy decides he wants to keep playing there.

Y'all are really damn good. This is a tough West though. I think Houston is a fucking problem and that's been brushed under the rug so far with KD drama.

Spurs may be a problem.

Yeah Jok and Braun were off. Jok still had a triple double, but man his defensive effort was worse than normal.

Cam is still trying to figure out his spacing and off ball movement on offense, but would have liked to have him hit more 3’s.

I felt Murray actually played pretty well. Better than 50% from the floor.

JV looked really good in his limited action. THJ is looking like a nice piece too.

Excited for this season. Our first game we have in our half season is the Pels Wednesday.

I had the game on in the background but he just couldn't hit any shots late in the game.

Jok typically gets revved up as the season goes on.

 Y'all look fine.

Ya not saying we don’t. Game 1. Hell during the game I’m looking at NBA Finals champ odds because I was so damn excited by how well we scored with Jokic sitting which has been our biggest problem in the past.

I mean the west is absolutely insane.

OKC, Rockets, Spurs, Nuggets, Warriors, Lakers, Wolves, Clips all could win the west. Won’t add the Mavs just yet. Get Kyrie back though and they may be up there as a favorite.

OKC, Denver, and Houston are the early favorites.  People love to hate on the Luka trade but I agree with you about Kyrie.  If him and AD are ever healthy at the same time (lulz), they might be #1.  Spurs might be a year away.  Houston needs a guard.

The LA teams aren't winning shit. I hesitate with the Ws because of how old they are.

Wolves are sneaky dangerous. They probably have the most value for futures right now.

That team is fucking filthy.

Yeah but I mean with Dallas you have Flagg plus Kyrie (when back) and AD. Luka and Flagg with the bigs Dallas had would have also been a great team.

I don't know who "we" are but the only team in a series is probably Denver, because Jokic is a load and they hade some good off season moves.  OKC has more depth than anyone and it's not that close.  Their top 3 are as good as anyone else's but guys like Ajay Mitchell would be the starting PG on some of these other teams.

I’m not gonna disagree with you here but it’s early and the Clips played really well down the stretch last year and were a tough out for the Nuggets. Clips are more likely than the Lakers for me, but I would expect them all to be in the playoffs.

I’m a Nuggets half season ticket holder. Was at the game 5 of the finals clinching game against the Heat and 2 of the series games with OKC last year.

Which games last year?

Believe it or not, the Denver series worried me more than the Pacers.  Denver was the only team I thought OKC could play their best against and still lose.  Jalen Williams played for shit, though.  He was much better in the other series.

Yeap, Nuggets played OKC the best of all teams and that was with no bench and a one armed MPJ and a Jamal Murray that was partying/gambling at Blackhawk late into the night during the series.

Many Nuggets players seemed to work harder this offseason. Murray actually showed up in shape this year.  AG’s performance in G1 wasn’t a fluke. Dude worked hard this offseason.

I take it back looking at my expired stubs I went to all Nuggets home games in the OKC series: 3, 4, and 6. Forgot I bought tickets to the other game we didn’t have rights for pre-public offering.

I don't watch a lot of the other teams but I was surprised how thin the Nuggets were.  Past Jokic, AG, and Murray, it fell off fast.  There were guys on OKC who were the 8th or 9th guy that would have started for Denver.  Not sure what was going on but that's likely why the GM got fired.

Disagree on the starting. We like Braun plenty. A healthy MPJ wouldn’t have been replaced by an 8 or 9th bench guy on OKC.

Either way, glad we’re back boys.
