Maryland-Eastern Shore vs. Texas One Last Cupcake or Crabcake Before SEC Play

Was wondering why we had so many backups on so early in the game but then realized the game is almost 25% over and it’s just the score that looks like the game just began

Jacking up threes and missing most. Vok with of course an early foul so no inside game.

Result is a 14-10 Texas lead with 11:32 to play in the first half.

Mark takes it to the hole a couple of times and Vok back in the game.

Texas with a 26-18 lead at the 8:28 mark first half.

Top notch guards are going to work the Texas defense off the dribble in SEC play.

When Pope is hot, it certainly helps. Not sure why we can't run plays to get Heide similar looks from the arc.

Edit: Now we get him two good looks, and he misses both. Sigh.

Texas turns the ball over repeatedly and its ugly at Moody.

Texas leads 34-28 with 3:39 to go in the first half.

Swain seems to forget he has four teammates on the floor.

Half comes to an end and Texas leads 40-34.

Maryland-ES is 6/12 from behind the arc and Texas is 4/15.

Pope has all four and is 4/8 on treys missing his last two.

Watching these kinds of games has just become a beating.

awful...

Nobody seems to be enjoying the game … everyone just going through the motions … zero inspiration … minimal competitive fire

I hope these fans that showed up are getting a good holiday discount on concessions

Virginia recently beat these guys by 24.  that is the min I'd be looking for.

the zone has us flummoxed and MDES has made some ridiculous 3's.

I like Wilcher's game more than I expected to. And Swain's less by the week.

The team's energy (and Moody Center energy) is about equal to the night we played Rice less than 24 hours after Chris Beard was arrested. Guess this is the new normal

this is gonna be a BS call.  the guy just turns and shoves Traore and then Traore tries to fight through the 2 guys basically shoving them.

MDES is certainly better than LeMoyne, that is of course a low bar.

Texas going inside more and has slowed down the threes from MDES.

Texas leads 66-51 at the 9:39 media timeout in the second half.

I think miller encouraged Swain that he’d be the go to guy and have a lot of liberty to create his own shots … time to reel him in now that he’s forcing things and kind of ignoring the teammate with a better shot more than he should

Texas stretches the lead out to 71-51 with 7:45 to go.

Continue to get the ball down low and MDES looks like they are kind of gassed at this point.

The guy seems to randomly turn it on and off. Physically a mismatch for most guys he's faced so far, but lackadaisical for long stretches on both ends of the floor. Not the composed player we seemed to see in Maui. I could say much the same about Mark's focus.

I thought it was funny that Eddie thought this crew wouldn't give Vok a tech for the light shove.  such horseshit.

MDES was the team that started the wrestling matches in the 1H and we responded in the 2H and then MDES started bitching when we did.

the refs lost control in the 1H when they let MDES do whatever the fuck they wanted to down low.

Texas again in the second half realizes the benefits of getting the ball inside against a team you are more athletic and bigger than.

Texas wins 94-71.

Vok will definitely lead the team in free throws this season if he can stay out of foul trouble.

He needs to shoot a little better from the line.

He would also benefit by bulking up with a little more good weight and muscle with all the banging he takes and gives out.
