Did Sweetie Pie’s still have the pine resin baked potatoes? Those were the best I ever ate.  I think I heard they dropped them as I guess customers broke a few teeth on them.  It’s like they were encased in glass.

Not that I noticed, but their rolls were good.

WUT

They were big russets and dropped in a pot of molten pine resin which encapsulated them.  Pulled from the cauldron they would harden with a coating of hard pine resin which was like glass.  They cracked with a hammer and cleaned the top of the shards and dust.  The inside was the best baked potato ever but you had to be careful to not get any pieces in there. Like glass.  I bet they had a few folks sever a tongue or rip out a gum.  It was early on in the Decatur store.

I can't imagine why a commercial restaurant wouldn't have that on the menu.

The joint he opened in was originally a Sambo’s. It’s an old nasty building.  I tried it after he opened and he was selling swai, then added real catfish, then says now just catfish. I don’t trust the dude.  Some reviewers said they got swai when they ordered catfish.  I got chicken instead of fucking swai.  It was average.

anyway if you’re in that area just go to Catfish Sam’s right down the street.  It’s still very good.

in Mansfield is a newish place called Bob’s Chicken and Seafood.  Debbie Ln at Matlock next to Kroger.  The chicken is outstanding, as good as Mikes in Dallas.  Excellent huge fried shrimp and tasty fried oysters.  Catfish not swai.  And fried chicken skin and chicken cracklings (skin with some meat) should be sold by the dump truck.

check it out.

Ok I’m skating backwards.  I went back and I guess I was there on a day the owner was out  or they were having a bad day.

the owner dropped the swai and its catfish.
I got a shrimp basket and it was perfect. Well cleaned  well seasoned and perfectly fried.  And great hush puppies.  Ten huge shrimp, 2 sides, $10.  IMG_1627.thumb.jpeg.aaca0f79ffbe604eca5d3b5cc83b528e.jpeg

Based solely on Monterey's posting history, can't imagine he was real close to that joint's suggested dress code.

Alright, let’s start the new O/U. Old Keg off BI/20 that’s failed as everything since is trying again this weekend as Fire Pot, a Korean BBQ joint.

went that location about the time Covid lockdown when it was a new Cajun spot.  Probably could have made it without all the bs back then

Paco’s Mexican Cuisine, an anchor restaurant on Sundance Square Plaza in downtown Fort Worth, has closed, according to a post Tuesday night on Instagram.

Paco’s, 156 W. Fourth St., closed months after chef “Paco” Islas opened his new concept, Shōgun Taqueria, a fusion restaurant in a former Paco’s location at 1508 W. Magnolia Ave.

Three years after opening the Sundance location, Paco’s “made the decision to move on” as part of a “strategic refocus” on Shōgun Taqueria, according to the post.

The post said Paco’s found it difficult to keep both restaurants “given the climate in the service industry,” an apparent reference to higher food costs, the labor shortage and an industrywide downturn in weeknight dining.

Went to River's on White Settlement last night, new little neighborhood bar in River District

Check the bill closely before you sign your tab at that joint. .

I almost never look at the itemized, but I do when a $40 shot has been added to a tab of 4 drinks.

I hope it was just an honest mistake but I have some suspicions. If they're being shady, they fucking suck at it.

Other than the bill screw up, was it any good?

Nah, if it was Fud’s fancy ass it definitely would have been a chilled and dressed shot of 1942. Not sure ACL is boujee like our Aledo boy

I'll go high class on occasion, when I feel like getting out of my element. it's kind of like taking a vacation from being a lowlife degenerate.

Funny you mentioned 1942, that's exactly what was on the tab.

Place was ok, the pizzas are good. Might be an ok place to bring a lady for a quiet night.

20 WB is closed at Markum Ranch. Evidently someone didn’t see the three signs and the multiple barrels signaling to exit because I watched a truck plow right through them and then several cars decided to follow. Watched them whiz right by a few workers as I exited and went back to 2871. Fuckin people

You’re gonna need more than a shot of 1942 for that

Do you have any info you can share on the underground water storage deaths yesterday afternoon on Aledo Iona? Assuming noxious gas got them? Possible h2s? I didn’t even know there were underground tanks over there.
