This may be my second favorite Dear Mr. Fantasy/Hey Jude. This show is solid, but it reaffirms my thoughts that East Coast shows are better. I don’t know why, but I have big lean east.

I love it when one of my favorite show's anniversary is on a weekend.  The show has terrific sound!!

Speaking of anniversaries, I watched this one live on PPV. Still a noob, it was unofficially my 3rd show. It was my introduction to the summer solstice show, which was a thing.

Now to move a little off topic, six years later I drove down to Cincinnati to see if Phish made a big deal out of the solstice. They did not. But it was still a unique and awesome show and there’s a really good amateur video with great sound documenting the band in their youth when the energy was off the charts. I saw this show and the next night in Columbus (which was later released officially as Live Phish 10, amazing show and I had 3rd row center seats, the best I could get being first in line at the box office when they went on sale). The next day I boarded a plane to Las Vegas for three nights of the Dead at the Sam Boyd Silver Bowl. The contrast in energy between the two bands was stark. I already had tickets for the Dead’s shows at Deer Creek and Buckeye Lake. Buckeye Lake ‘94 was my last Dead show and I hopped on over to the Phish train after that. Happy I missed the ugliness of Deer Creek the following year. When I heard of Jerry’s passing I was sad, but not terribly surprised, and I had already moved on.

So here’s another another anniversary show which I’ve posted before in the Phish thread but I’ll post it here in case anyone is curious. The audio is excellent. Give it a little time for the video to kick in. It’s sometimes choppy but mostly it’s a pretty solid amateur video. If you watch the whole thing and if you haven’t seen my post about it in the Phish thread, there’s a big surprise partway through, before the end of the first set.

Oregon hosting Grateful Dead game against Wisky.

Spoiler

Oregon's football game against Wisconsin will be a "tie-dye out" in the stands of Autzen Stadium.

By: Rob Moseley

EUGENE, Ore. — The sounds of the Grateful Dead echoed throughout Autzen Stadium a total of 10 times between 1974 and 1994, recapitulated in 2018 by the current incarnation of the iconic jam band, Dead & Company.

This October, those spirits will awaken. The UO football program's matchup with Wisconsin on Oct. 25 will call for a "tie-dye out" of the stadium by fans, as the university introduces a first-of-its-kind "Grateful Ducks" game at Autzen.

The Grateful Dead community is in the midst of celebrating the band's 60th anniversary, including with a three-night run by Dead & Company in the band's hometown of San Francisco this weekend. We look forward to celebrating this anniversary at the UO football game against the Badgers in October.

In all, the Dead played on campus at the University of Oregon more than 20 times. The great music and good vibes from those shows will be rekindled on Oct. 25, with sights and sounds inspired by the Grateful Dead blending with the pageantry of an Autzen Stadium football Saturday for all the "Grateful Ducks" in attendance.

"Grate" seats for the game are available while supplies last via GoDucks.com/FBTix. Co-branded merchandise featuring the Ducks and the Dead will be available for pre-order soon at The Duck Store, before arriving in stores at a later date.

Class Trip, which has previously produced merchandise merging the Dead and the Ducks, has produced a fresh line of tie-dye apparel for the occasion. The iconic dancing bears and "steal your face" logo of the band and the unmistakable mirth of The Duck will join forces for this first-of-its-kind collaboration available at the Duck Store

More information regarding gameday and experiences for fans will be made available as we approach gameday.
