  1. Past hour
  2. This. It’s been a problem for a long time. Look at the first post talking about how much more talent this team has than a rival. Based on what? This has been a fanbase problem for a long time. “We’re Texas so we must have the best talent and most NIL money and best facilities and best coaches because we’re Texas”. Jump into reality at some point. What you want to believe and what you have been told to believe doesn’t mean it’s reality. Do you really think Burton or Ketch or anyone else is going to put out a publication that says “well, Texas sucks and has no talent this season”? Sunshine pumping sells. How do you not know this by now?
  3. That’s fair and could be tight(I don’t see how they beat either of GA or Vandy though to only have 3 losses) and hr would be enough to quiet a lot of the fair weather fans. but they need to make changes. An OC for Sark and an upgrade at QB. Unless arch magically turns into at least Quinn Ewers level of QB.
  4. It did seem like that. Surely we have hot routes built into most pass plays and Arch rarely hits them or even looks for them.
  5. That was awful. Odobert sucks on the wing so far. Get him subbed off ASAP.
  6. Arch would not see the field for any other major program. He probably wouldn't see the field for the majority of non major programs.
  7. Hard to remember that far back but I do remember his routes he threw to being high schoolish. You are right though. Certain routes need to be off the table. Maybe revisit it when his processing picks up but right now....nay
  8. He had three, horrible misses last night. This one, the crosser to Wingo and the slant to Mosley where he did the hard part and stepped up into the blitz only to sail the bail three yards over his head. All three were explosive and game changing plays that likely lead to points. It’s completely indefensible at this point.
  9. 4 Top 10 teams lost yesterday and 9 Top 25 teams lost. Easily could've been 10 ranked teams losing. Texas is wasting a championship caliber defense, they had a bad game against UF but they've dominated in every other contest throughout the season. Collin Simmons hit his stride beginning in the OU game...he's been a wrecking ball with 5.5 sacks in 2 games. This is the best special teams unit Texas has had since I can remember. If Shipley was the kicker last season Texas would've won the SEC championship game where Bert choked and missed numerous field goals, he nearly blew the ASU game as well. The OL is terrible. The run game is unreliable. Receivers aren't getting any king of consistent separation and dropping passes. Arch doesn't look like a 5 star, he looks like an FCS QB. Kentucky is the worst team in the SEC and it took overtime and some big returns on special teams to get past them. Where did things go wrong with this offense? Is it the scheme? Play calling? Recruiting misses? Is it largely on the QB? In 2010 Texas began the season ranked #5 and we all know the disappointment involving that cluster fuck of a season. This season hits differently because Texas opened as the preseason #1. Losing to Florida was the final nail in the coffin for playoff hopes, I don't foresee Texas winning out. This is shaping up to the most disappointing season of the modern era.
  10. I think this team can be be 9-3 going into the A&M game and for all of sark’s problems I think he gets rivalries. I think we handle A&M but miss the playoffs. We finish 10-3 and go to the Poulan weedeater holiday bowl. But we are 3-0 against our rivals.

  12. Skipper calls this offense the good times LOL. I bet he was thrashing all the haters during the Charlie era too.
  13. Anyone else here going to Starkville?
  14. Yeah, going to have to try it also.
  15. drag routes are off the table. Just brutal. Didn’t Herman give Ehlinger almost nothing but curls in the middle of the field?
  16. The Fire Mack Brown thread was close.
  17. I’m talking about the season after it. Ranked and fell of the map. Same in 84. Great seasons (like last year) followed by total garbage the next seasons. But take heart, I’m not seeing much else to compete with the dumpster fire that has become this season.
  18. Roma, the dude is late on everything. He is late on his reads. He is late on coming off his reads. He is late on his incompletions and he is late on his completions. He is just late. Everything is so slow, and a large part as to why the O-line looks the way it does. Blitzes and rushes that should never get home get there because he cannot get the ball out. For example, the play where he got sacked trying to throw to Livingstone coming across the formation, Parker was open on the break and Arch waiting until he was well past the center to throw it. If he throws it right away the rush never gets there and Parker is running for a 1st down. Its like he doesn't have the plays memorized and it just out there throwing to whatever he sees open like back yard football. There is zero pre snap recognition for what should be open. Its all just wait and see.
  19. The schedule got real against UTEP.
  20. We were talking about 5-7 type seasons vs seasons of unfulfilled expectations. While 5-7 seasons are obviously terrible, most of the time going into that type of season you knew they weren’t title contending caliber. So while those types of years are obviously disappointing, I think they are less disappointing than years when Texas really should be very good but then fails to deliver. The Miami Cotton Bowl season ended terrible but at least they had a conference championship and they improved from years of mediocrity. The Big 12 Championship fail with Simms was a big one, especially because they learned before game time that someone lost (Tennessee?) and that with a win they would go to the national championship game.
  21. Hey if we get to 7-2 with this team I’ll be shocked and happy.
  22. There’s a lot of truth to this post when you are thinking about your life in middle age. That perspective matters. I tend to agree. But Texas still sucks hairy dusty sweaty North African side street donkey pulling a cart of putrid trash balls. We can accept it for our mental health and celebrate the win, but accepting it won’t make them better. It will only allow us to better enjoy our Sundays.
  23. Did…you watch the game? Which is why having such a shitty OL and QB playing so horribly is infuriating. There isn’t one elite team that’s going to run through everyone this year. last years team would’ve been big favorites.
