  1. This pretty much says it all
  2. I was actually just typing that out. People need to learn to chill when it comes to recruiting. We are still in the second quarter, just like every year. Set your clock for December whatever, wake up, and hopefully rejoice. And if it doesn’t work out, that’s life.
  3. This is a really good post, and so so true.
  4. I’ve been a Type 1.5 for 26 years. I use a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) called Freestyle Libre 3+. Have been using Freestyle for several years. CGM is an absolute game changer and should be used by every diabetic who has significant blood glucose variation.
  5. I bet he actually did.
  6. What type of scotch?
  7. While there is a tiny part of me that thinks there was digital election interference, due to the strange voting results nationwide, that article says nothing of value.
  8. This reminded me of the Texas intramural football team I created back in the day that I’ve discussed on the board before. What I’ve never recalled until I read your story was the fact that the whole team decided on one guy as QB for the team, a decently athletic guy with a good arm. Three series into our first game, not only was he a disaster, but when I went up to talk to him his eyes were wide open and he looked like he’d seen a ghost. Dude just could not handle the pressure. You’d could just see it. I replaced him on the spot with a guy who’d never played QB, didn’t have a great arm, but who I knew was cool hand luke under pressure. The team, and the displaced QB, protested but since it was theoretically “my” team, I had the final call. That team made the finals and only lost because a student ref didn’t know what an interception in the end zone was. When it comes to kickers and QB’s, you can always see it in their eyes.
  9. When I moved to Houston I had three months for temporary housing. I couldn’t find an apartment so I lived in I think a Holiday Inn. There were multiple retirees there living there in retirement. Not a bad deal. They ate dinner every night from the free happy hour buffet, with free beer and wine. Amd free breakfast. And they had a maid every day cleaning their room. Not sure how they handled laundry. They would come to happy hour sometimes in bath robes. I think they were paying less than $100 per night.
  10. Nevermind. I finally figured out how it works.
  11. Spend 15 minutes on Reddit and you’ll realize there are some really screwed up men and women out there among the Gen Z. Just like there’s a bunch of screwed up boomers.
  12. Dre Quinn under-rated imo. Don’t know if Texas has a shot, but would potentially be a very interesting pickup.
  13. Just look at the situation rationally. The head of these negotiations, Witkoff, is a Jewish real estate lawyer, with NO diplomatic experience. I’m sure he was kicking ass and taking names.
  14. Those news reports all have the perspective from the U.S. side. As I posted earlier, Iran has been highly incented to just stall, with sanctions scheduled to expire in a few months. There was unlikely any deal. That’s just typical Trump administration bullshit lying.
  15. Well, there wouldn’t have needed to be a choice if not for a previous disastrous decision to break the previous agreement. Just pointing out that I’ve seen a few posts about how Iran, the Palestinians, etc have already lost and they need to realize that. Bullshit. That is a very naïve view. It’s exactly why there has been terrorism for decades. It’s never “over” when you are fucking with other people.
  16. I don’t think some posters on here realize or understand that Israel attacking Iran with American support is going to lead to significant future attacks on Americans. We are in the early stages of what’s going to become likely a multiyear shitshow imo.
  17. I can envision the pitch to walk-ons: ”you might not see the field, but your ACL might in the knee of the first string RB”
  18. Oh my God. You want me!
  19. Extremely important Threads post about how Trump made a disastrous mistake in dumping the previous nuclear deal because they can no longer keep sanctions on Iran. They run out in October and the U.S. is powerless to stop it. Iran hasn’t been negotiating with the US at all. They’ve just been waiting for the clock to run out. https://www.threads.com/@anmonck/post/DK1UvTaKbZ0?xmt=AQF0eb1M9R9g-SAh6u8ND2DoDhzUcct8xl3cYl5S8vdGcQ
  20. I’m not saying this was a good strategy. I have no idea. I just think that the view Trump couldn’t stop Israel, or that Israel proceeded without US approval is not realistic imo.
  21. I don’t have the same view as most on here regarding Trump. I believe Trump cooked this up with Israel as a back up plan to talks. With talks failing, Trump said fuck it let’s have Israel attack them so the U.S. doesn’t get blamed.
  22. If that’s the case then not worth feeling bad about the miss.
