  1. I listened to Paul Tudor Jones this morning on CNBC and he said he expects deficits to increase $500B under Trump and another $600B on top of that if Harris wins. So, at least according to him, we are pretty fucked either way. Minsky moment potential on mid/long dated treasuries.
  2. Look, I saw the initial clip and was not very impressed with her answer. Bill followed up with another question and she gave, in my opinion, better answer. 60 minutes edited out the first answer for a reason. Here is the edit in written form from a politico reporter
  3. I believe this qualifies as bias if 60 minutes actually did this.
  4. Agreed. My opinion is they do better than anyone else covering politics to remove their bias in their analysis.
  5. Respectfully, they just moved multiple in direction of D
  6. That's analysis, not bias. Amy and Kathryn own and run the website and they are both decidedly not conservative.
  7. I can assure you this is not even in the realm of being remotely true.
  8. For someone like me that wants to compare to previous elections to draw inference about what is going to happen this year, this is a good reminder that the electorate is shifting.
  9. I thought this was an interesting question so looked up fiscal response by Germany and the UK. Guessing numbers will be similar to France, Lithuania, Spain, etc. Germany 156 billion (4.7% of gpd) 3/20 130 billion (3.9% of gdp) 6/20 60 billion (1.7% of gdp) 3/21 UK Spent 310-410 billion pounds. (15% ish of gdp) US 5.1Trillion (3.3 in 2020 and 1.8 in 2021) 13% and 7%, respectively in those 2 years. It was a combination of factors and believe that supply chain issues started the inflation issue and over stimulus by lots of governments exacerbated the problem.
  10. I have downloaded it multiple times to watch on a flight and just can't seem to ever even start it. I love me some DDL but there is nothing interesting to me about that film.
  11. NO CR, just answering your question with a different view. Couple of guys that worked for Obama think it was the American Rescue Plan that supercharged inflation. Party line vote that VP Harris was the tie breaking vote on. To use your line, Harris supporters do not acknowledge or realize this. It is not straightforward and you won't be able to pin 'inflation' on one political party or their leaders. https://larrysummers.com/2021/05/24/the-inflation-risk-is-real/ I've heard two pretty smart people mention that a possible concern is rate cuts preceding a recession will lead to more stimulus and increased bipartisan government spending. Meaning investors require higher yield. Flows typically move to treasuries in times like that, which drive down yields, but that may not be the safe move if inflation reignites. You might actually have yields spike.
  12. I hope you are correct on this one. It certainly has been true in the past.
  13. Campaign downplaying expectations for Walz tonight. Vance is a skilled debater. Fortunately, VP shit don't matter.
  14. Ballistic launch from Iran imminent. Oil spiking. Last time they tried 300ish missiles they were all shot down.
  15. I had to add in the end because using 'suck' was too much for our AI overlords.
  16. ChatGPT gets it In crimson and cream, the hopes rise high, But often they stumble, and fans wonder why. With cheers in the stands and dreams in the air, Yet too many moments that lead to despair. The glory of past days, a shadow they chase, But turnovers and penalties mar their embrace. A drive that begins with such promise and flair, Ends in confusion, the crowd holds its stare. The rivals all rally, their banners held tight, While Sooners are left searching for light. Defense is faltering, the offense goes cold, As seasons slip by, the story grows old. Their season like their lives, all for naught While seemingly always stuck in the muck When they see the burnt orange they're feel with fraught Just remember the truth, OU always will suck
  17. Weather and about 25 cocktails etc from the night prior.
  18. Trails felt like PV. Rolled a 69 at Sheep thanks to the layup birdie hole 18. Shit my pants at pac but it was gorgeous.
  19. "Sense of duty apparently drove suspect"
  20. @DDD Dad Know it's your favorite. Just took a Bandon trip and if you haven’t, book one. Played 18, 36, 36. Rank would be Bandon, Trails, Pac Dunes, Sheep, Old Mac. Pretty good deal, considering. On 36 hole days your first 18 is full cost and 2nd is half price. Rooms were a deal when sharing with a buddy. Food was good and booze is free flowing. Caddies were all great. Travel was easy compared to what I expected. From Dallas, United through Denver or SF gets you there in time for a round or you can fly direct to Eugene and then have a pretty drive (about 2.5 hours). 10/10.
  21. no doubt but, assuming apples to apples, their averages above are relevant information for comparative purposes.
