  1. Hey, I'm being positive here. I gave them a potential solution.
  2. The do something about it. Wagner showed the road to Moscow is wiiiiiiide open. Go defend your Motherland by ending Putin's abuse of it. If not, feed your family with the shrapnel they'll pull out of your corpse.
  3. You likely won't succeed, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Some rare instances have worked, so it's worth a shot. Just don't blame yourself if it fails, because it probably will. The root cause of the problem is, you are dealing with a world of facts, while they are dealing with a world of feelings. You can point as many facts out as you want, but they will override those facts with what they want to be true. If you point out too many facts, they'll get mad, because you are challenging the lies that have constructed the world view they want to be in. Then, as soon as the conversation with you ends, they will go right back to mainlining right wing lies straight into their veins, because that makes them feel good. It's really hard to compete with the firehose of lies they eagerly consume.
  4. Have already heard about this from the avid right wing media consumer in my life. Apparently only Hidalgo can declare an emergency if something happens in Houston and she's putting the entire city at risk, because she cannot delegate the authority to declare an emergency. I'm assuming that's bullshit, but even if it's not, it could be worked out. She's in treatment for depression, it's not like she'll be sedated on thorazine for a month. They also mentioned Hidalgo is under investigation, which I am assuming is also bullshit, but does anyone know what they are talking about?
  5. Earth has also had multiple ages with no ice. It's not an end point we want to fuck around with. Drive any direction from Austin and all you're going to see geologically is limestone and dolomite from the Cretaceous when the entirety of Texas was underwater. Even if we aren't the only cause of the Earth getting hotter, we would be wise to get our portion of the warming as close to zero as possible. We won't do anything about it though and the consequences are going to fall mostly on the states that prevent us from doing anything.
  6. The perfect video to describe the fail fest Russian war efforts does not exi...... That's the sanctioned SIG oil tanker Ukraine just hit with the water drone.
  7. Another ridiculous promise he has no intention of even trying to honor.
  8. I know of at least one additional person that purchased it, thinking it was from Texas. They were not happy when I showed them it was from NC. Damages would only be $2-3 and some disappointment though.
  9. Elon is the king of making ridiculous promises he has no intention of even trying to honor. They aren't getting paid at the end of July either. Some of the more provocative assholes might, but Elon can't pay his other bills, or a building permit fee apparently. The bulk of them will get...
  10. Bully asshole that has brutally attacked everyone around them for centuries wonders aloud why no one likes them. It's quite the mystery.
  11. How much longer until they rename the homepage The Eagle's Nest, or Kehlsteinhaus ?
  12. Belarus invents new type of self-propelled gun, the inertial howitzer. Just one of many things Mark Hertling nailed.
  13. Throw traumatic brain injuries on top of fetal alcohol syndrome. Starting to make more sense why they are all fucking idiots.
  14. Their is no way Jarvanka's kids aren't ecstatic that they won't have to spend time around Trump anymore soon. Thanks to Jarvanka's crooked Middle East deals, they are not dependent on Trump's largess. The kids are already going to inherit plenty of blood money without having to put up with grandpa's shit.
  15. An awful lot of stuff thing that normally operate on a Geologic time scale (takes a long time) are now happening on a decade, or less, time scale.
  16. Mark Meadows has actually dug for dinosaurs and then purchased the land they were on. He later sold the land to Answers in Genesis without disclosing the sale. In spite of this personal experience, he believes the earth is 6,000 years old and that dinosaurs co-existed with humans. https://www.salon.com/2020/12/27/mark-meadows-has-skeletons-in-the-closet--dinosaur-skeletons-to-be-precise/ Just some context for the following statement. Even that fucking moron knows Trump lost, the election wasn't stolen, and cooperating with the investigations is the only way to keep his stupid ass out of the prison sentence he so richly deserves. Which brings to mind the question, just how fucking stupid do you have to be to actually believe the election was stolen and that Trump won? Apparently stupider than Mark Meadows, which is a very low bar.
  17. I wish I could rep this twice. Fantastic post and this should be the response every time they try to air that bullshit. How they're created has got nothing to do with it. Also, Newsom should wear gator skin boots when he destroys DeSantis. He won't need lifts inside them like DeSantis is using.
  18. It should be crystal clear to everyone by now that Putin is bluffing and is full of shit on every threat he issues. Red Line, Red Line, Red Line, Red Line, Red Line All crossed. Whenever the West crosses one of Putin's ridiculous red lines, he folds, because he is bluffing and has nothing he can respond with that doesn't guarantee his own death, of which he is terrified. To everyone's detriment, the West has fallen for Putin's bluffs for decades. It's time to stop and recognize that Putin is in a weak position and he doesn't have any strength to act out with, or he'd have used it already. Short of NATO invading Russia, which isn't going to happen, Putin is not going to use nukes. He's not going to do shit. He can't, or he already would have. Even setting aside the fact that he doesn't seem to have tight control over his military and they're likely disobey an order to launch nukes, nukes guarantee a sizable western military response, possibly Article 5 depending on fallout. They also mean being cut off from everyone, including India and China for the foreseeable future. Either way, that's the end of Putin in power and likely ends with him getting something along the lines of a bayonet enema like Gaddafi. If the West provides Ukraine with the rest of what they need to win, Putin is going to fuck off back across the border, declare victory and try to rebuild what's left of his powerbase. Dictators and bullies only respect strength and they incessantly attack perceived weakness. Lets give Ukraine what they need to throw the Russians back to the pre-2014 borders. It also sets the perfect tone for China on Taiwan. FAFO.
  19. It's not just tax breaks for NM. Albuquerque is a 12 hour drive from LA/Burbank, so they can still use the same equipment houses in CA and have anything they need in NM the next morning. Lighting techs, sound techs, cameras, all the other people/stuff they use can be there the next morning. Shuttling equipment and crews in and out is really easy. It's a looooong fucking drive to get any of that shit to San Marcos, which means you'll have to have that stuff on site, or close. That means building out a huge supporting industry that currently doesn't exist. New Mexico also has just about every geography/ecosystem that exists in the US, aside from beach/swamps, within a 4 hour drive of Albuquerque.
  20. It's too hot in Austin. You can only kill people by throwing them in the lake.
  21. Anyone who isn't blocked by an HOA/leasing office should get a window AC unit, or a portable. Even if they disallow window units, most of them allow portables. This isn't going to relent for a while still and it's worth a few hundred bucks not to be miserable when you're trying to sleep. Long term, mine saves money by not having to cool the rest of the house off as much. If it helps anyone, here's the Wirecutter reviews. https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-air-conditioner/ And here are the consumer reports for each BTU category. Portables are the last one.
  22. Is that a croquet mallet? What's she going to do, knock over all the Deep States' wickets?
  23. Not publicly confirmed, but Giuliani, Eastman, Sydney Powell and Jeffery Clark are pretty obvious. The allegations can be paired with specific actions that happened publicly. The other 2, especially #6, the political consultant, are less clear. There's lots of options for #6 and I hope we get some of those options indicted as well.
  24. Just like Putin and his red lines, it's all a never-ending bluff. This is the line in the sand. [DOJ steps over] No, this one is the line in the sand. [DOJ steps over] Ok, well, this one is the line in the sand. [DOJ steps over] Now this is the line in the sand [DOJ steps over] How about, this one is the line in the sand?
