  1. The Onion no longer has a reason to exist.
  2. I heard on the radio this morning that the collision was at 300'.
  3. @raw dog Care to explain your neg? Do you not believe that it seems somewhat improvident to conduct military operations in the midst of heavily trafficked civilian airspace? Or do you just not like sarcasm in pointing out that someone somewhere either made a decision that the risk to civilians was worth the benefit to military readiness or didn't think to consider it?
  4. It strikes me as perhaps a little unduly risky to conduct military training sorties using night vision goggles in the midst of one of the highest civilian air traffic areas in the country where city lights are extensive. But I guess killing 64 civilians is worth the benefit of keeping our military prepared.
  5. I'm loving that my GIF of the Hound comes up on my screen with your link to the new thread.
  6. I mean I’m pretty sure you’re not a Helobius sock but some of your recent posts have given me pause.
  7. Sometimes you reap what you sow. I’ve fought the fight to keep DT free from political hot takes for years but I finally have given up. Tired of Ana and others bitching about me being a hall monitor. Feel free to fling whatever shit against the wall you want!
  8. This thread reveals that UT has some seriously fucking stupid grads.
  9. Link?
  10. I met of the flight attendants that survived. She spoke at my high school back in 83.
  11. When else is she gonna get to wear that sweet swag?
  12. So smoke and mirrors. Got it.
  13. This was my immediate reaction under what authority does the executive branch have to make this directive? Where is the funding?
  14. Never saw Cars but was a big fan of Doc Hollywood. Filmed in Micanopy FL (little town just south of Gainesville) around the time I was finishing law school there. I like SKB notwithstanding This is Us so I have this on my list to watch soon.
  15. I have no opinion on the accuracy of the NYT article and clearly understand the perspective being presented by the podcast. That said, as I was reading Hank's posts in this thread I sensed a growing confirmation bias from post to post. That's all I was saying. I did find that the view of the podcast that the goal of the PR campaign was to sow confusion as a tactic was interesting, and one can certainly find that to be persuasive regardless of whether you believe one side or the other.
  16. Similar to most here. Definitely not a Dylan fan. I've found most of his music to be like fingernails on a chalk board. That said, I thought all of the performances were fantastic, and Chalamet nailed it (not just with his with his acting but also singing/harmonica/guitar chops). I'm also a big Scoot McNairy fan so I particularly enjoyed his portrayal of Woody Guthrie.
