  1. Because @Incredulity refuses to admit he was wrong, he has to deflect somewhere. I'm sure he'll be back with some other shit after he gets done beating his dog or something.
  2. Explosive charges on the seams where the tanks meet. Fuel and oxidizer does the rest.
  3. That's not why they were cheering. The people in the building all 100% knew that was going to happen after it started tumbling.
  4. In the old days it was manual and you used a radio signal to trigger detonation. Today it's automated, it's tied in with the navigation. It has an expected course and if it deviates too far from that and/or other conditions are met, it blows.
  5. As it shouldn't That stuff is probably insulation panels that are made to fall away like that.
  6. Sorry, to clarify, it actually WAS supposed to blow up. I meant obviously they would have loved to have not used the FTS.
  7. It did not separate and was not supposed to tumble like that. And obviously it wasn't supposed to blow up lol
  8. Yeah. Huge success, actually. First flight on an unbelievably ambitious platform, I'm impressed.
  9. 3-4 engines didn't light, 1 burned out. Not a huge surprise, they've never lit all those engines at once before. Plenty of margin for error there with no payload. Something is going wrong
  10. Dumbass Tuberville go step in front of a semi you stupid bitch
  11. You had to go through like half a dozen handles before you posted in even a half-civilized manner so I'm not sure you're not part of the problem, bub!
  12. I think twice about flipping off Ram drivers that tailgate the fuck out of me when I'm going 85 down the 2-lane highway to work. Never know when one of those snowflakes is gonna get his feefees hurt and pull out a pistol.
  13. I'm not sure you understand what slippery slope means.
  14. People like fattyflattie and all the other people who like to debate what type of round was used and other irrelevant minutae when shootings happen absolutely fantasize about something like this. They ultimately want to use their guns for what they're designed to do. A situation where they can legally kill someone (or at least they think it's legal) is the ultimate wet dream.
  15. Do you think people are just going to forget your last username you giant piece of shit?
  16. Some kind of problem with a pressure system on the first stage, theyre going to move it to a WDR (fully loading propellant) and then call it. I'd say it'll be a few more days before they go again.
  17. SpaceX is a net positive to the world and Elon deserves to have his name attached to its success. I've said it numerous times in this thread, but I guess I'll keep saying it until it sinks in. It's actually kind of annoying because I don't like fanboying over people, but she's one of the few that deserves it: Elon is not the driving force behind SpaceX. He owes its success to Gwynne Shotwell. She is in the perfect position because Elon dangling himself like an autistic marionette in front of the world provides ample distraction while she gets the real work done behind the scenes. There is a reason why she, not Elon, is most often representing SpaceX at actual industry events. She's on every god damn space industry panel there is. She's the liaison to NASA. She is everything to SpaceX. Industry events where actually serious people go are going there to talk to her, not Elon. They don't give a fuck about talking about Starship with Elon, they wanna know when their satellite can get into orbit based on how fast they are cranking out parts from Hawthorne. Also, this is just utter bullshit. He is aware of many technical aspects and hurdles at a superficial level, enough to comprehend the conversation just well enough to poorly explain it on podcasts, but you are absolutely on one if you actually believe this. The man is not an engineer, period, he never has been. The man is not Tony Stark, no matter how much you want it to be so. Jesus christ.
  18. Will be interesting. Per someone in the know, they've never fired all the engines (33 of them) before, and never fired any quantity of the engines at full power on the vehicle.
  19. A good start would be Abbott getting his ass kicked by another tree
