  1. I googled “Texas Supreme Court justices” yesterday expecting to see a bunch of white men. I was surprised to find that 1/3 of them are women. That’s disappointing.
  2. That tribute episode of TPIR is up on YouTube in playlist format.
  3. She probably called Trump as soon as Clarence tipped her off.
  4. He’s made that assertion before. He seems to believe it.
  5. Which Republican members of Congress are attending? Or are there only invitations? We need better reporting on this. Also, fuck the Heritage Foundation.
  6. He certainly wouldn’t have been able to invade Iraq before the ‘04 election when he would be enjoying high approval ratings during the pre-quagmire portion of the war.
  7. Did she cite any examples of Harvard students, faculty, or staff calling for the genocide of Jews? Has that actually happened? Because advocating for the rights of Palestinian Arabs isn’t the same thing. Advocating for an end to Jewish occupation of Palestine isn’t calling for genocide of Jewish people. The question was a trap. The presidents should’ve been better prepared with their answers.
  8. Huh? What world are you living in? Obviously not the one populated by the likes of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson. And George W. ‘God told me to invade Iraq’ Bush.
  9. What exactly do these Jesus freaks think happens to the soul of an aborted fetus? What’s the scriptural basis for what they believe? Or in the case of the Catholics, what is the church’s doctrine? Shouldn’t they believe the poor, innocent little soul is going straight to Heaven? Do the Catholics have some alternate plane for the souls of those who never reached the age of reason? Ten bucks says Kimberly Schwartz enthusiastically supports capital punishment.
  10. She could have people register to vote at her shows the way Frank Zappa did during his ‘88 tour.
  11. He’d say “I don’t have to,” being vague enough in his admission that there wouldn’t be another election if he’s re-elected, so that no one could insist that he definitely means that. But that’s what he would mean. And then he’d go on about how the 2020 election was stolen from him and how he deserves another term. And he also might bring up his heroes Putin, Xi, and Kim and what great, strong leaders they are and how he deserves to be treated like them. And he’d whine about how unfairly he’s treated. Again.
  12. Wrong. If Jordan Travis had remained healthy then undefeated FSU would’ve been in. They would’ve been ranked ahead of 1-loss Texas. And what would’ve really chapped your gears was that 1-loss Alabama would’ve gotten the 4th slot by virtue of having a better loss than Texas had. The committee has demonstrated in the past that the quality of a loss counts against a team more than the quality of a win benefits them. Plus given the history of the playoff, not to mention both the playoff’s and the SEC’s partnership with ESPN, a 1-loss SEC champ isn’t going to be left out. That’s part of why Texas is joining the SEC, right? It would’ve been a tough pill to swallow but UT would’ve swallowed it, knowing they were going to be part of ESPN’s favorite conference going forward. Texas fans would scream that it was totally unfair to rank Alabama ahead of them since Texas won the head-to-head matchup, all while forgetting that 99.9% of them thought TCU got screwed out of the playoff in 2014 when in fact it was Baylor whom they should’ve been arguing for since they’d defeated TCU head-to-head that year.
  13. Those are some really nice-looking cookies. Very professional. I’ll bet those would sell. Oh, also…congrats.
  14. Who did you want instead of Joe? Bernie? He’s 82. I’m glad Joe was the one in charge when Putin invaded Ukraine instead of Elizabeth Warren. Pete Buttigieg was too young and he ultimately helped get Joe nominated. I liked Obama but his youth and inexperience hampered him in some ways. Youth isn’t always an advantage or an asset. I’m against ageism. Let the candidate and the voters decide. Comparing politicians to pilots isn’t a fair comparison. You don’t need good physical coordination to be a good leader. Look at George W. Bush. He could dodge an Iraqi shoe but he was a disaster of a president. And he wasn’t that old. Its a shame that Kissinger didn’t die a young man but his age wasn’t his crime.
  15. I’m much more the Diff’rent Strokes generation than I am the All in the Family generation, though I watched both. I didn’t start watching All in the Family from the beginning like I did with The Jefferson’s and Strokes. I didn’t start watching until several years into it. But I’ve seen all the early seasons of All in the Family in syndication and will still watch them today. I don’t watch The Jefferson’s or Diff’rent Strokes anymore. Been there, done that. But All in the Family rules. I used to watch Maude some. I’ll watch it occasionally today if I see it on but it’s not regular viewing and it’s just by chance when I stumble upon it. That was a great show too, though. And it had young Adrienne Barbeau. Hubba hubba. One of my favorite Archie and Maude scenes:
  16. He’ll raise a shit-ton of money off of it and book a lot of face time on Fox News.
