  1. This is what Gundy said as a summary about Texas too: “They’re this way all the time. They’ve been this way for a long time. When I first started playing them as a head coach 20 years ago, Mack Brown was the coach. They were top five in the country pretty much every year for a while. They got good players. I got a lot of respect for them. Sark does a good job. They’re well-coached.”
  2. Hey, I did go to Oklahoma state after all Was trying to make a point about the insanity of the circular arguments in the playoff thread.
  3. Now if only the playoff committee would listen
  4. Well yeah? If it weren’t for a 49 yard FG against TCU maybe it goes to OT or KSU doesn’t FAFO…y’all aren’t in the playoff discussion. That’s football.
  5. Yeah I’m pretty sure the actual team is being kept focused by Sark…because quite a few of y’all are in “they’re terrible, we should win convincingly” territory.
  6. The jury is still out on Nardo, especially when we lost the core of our defensive backs due to NFL/transfers. One thing he has seemed to do well is make adjustments in the second half, at least against inferior opponents when behind. Obviously we miss Knowles but he’s currently getting beaten by Michigan every year. Bowman was doing exactly what we needed to do when both Ollie and the OL were pristine…keep the defense honest with some capable pass plays and not turn it over. Now that Ollie is practically driving down the field using a Rascal, Bowman’s shouldering a bigger load and his back-foot passes are causing alarming amounts of interceptions. Our WR room has been decimated hence a former DIII dude catching for 100+ a game with regularity. So the defense is 2011’ish in that it relies on turnovers more than 2021-style tight coverage. The offense is back in the 2008’ish “run your bell cow until he’s hurt and try to throw some competent passes” but there’s no mobile Zac Robinson there to zone read it down the field…and no Spencer Sanders to balance on the knife edge between brilliance and injury/turnover city. Not a big fan of Dunn as OC, though a great WR coach Special Teams is unusually off this year, though rain has presented issues in several games…won’t be a problem in Jerry World but it’s not a strength in general this year. Gundy seems pretty chill, which is a plus…and we aren’t playing OU where he typically clams up. He’s obviously a good coach and has to live with new coordinators as successful ones constantly jump ship, but outside of Ollie this isn’t really even an above average roster for him…benefit of a good schedule, some luck, great coaching adjustments and a standout RB. Obviously y’all should steam roll us. You’re built to defend the concepts we rely on, have 2+ notches higher in your QB, and higher talent across the board. However that’s why you play the game, this osu team has surprised most of us, and if they play loose with a few lucky bounces…it’s possible to make a game of it. Will see.
  7. Meh, Gundy has really taken on the Buddha stance…for good or ill…for like a decade now. He’s famous for The Rant, but if you watch him on the sidelines he hardly shows any emotion at all. It’s just corchspeak
  8. Are we sure it’s not a ton of OU folks dropping their tickets? I’d have loved to have seen the buying/selling activity between the second and fourth quarters of the BYU game lol.
  9. Holy shit I’m so grateful to have Gundy…and more than that, not be an Aggy
  10. We were picked to finish anywhere between 5th and 9th. Most Pokes I’ve talked to feel like we are playing with house money at this point…so throw it all against the wall, and see what sticks. Loose Gundy can be DangerGundy, however… Seems to me that Gordon has been playing really banged up the last few games, which we all knew was coming. Honestly Bowman has played that way a bit too. As always, our lack of a 2-deep full of 4/5 star talent hurts unless everything goes smoothly. Always been jealous of y’all’s recruiting, even if you didn’t always make the most of it.
  11. We (osu) have missed out twice on playing for a natty…and both were solely on the team. 2011 loss to ISU, and 2021 loss to rapists in conf champ game due to being unable to convert 4th and inches. Granted the LSU/Bama rematch was the stupidest thing ever protecting the SEC brand and our best RB likely converts one of those four goal-to-go runs but sat out due to the draft. It is what it is. Once you lose a game it’s out of your hands (or not if you’re UCF). That being said, any talk of Oregon having a better resume than Texas is fucking stupid and reflective of the entire dumbass nature of a 4-team playoff with 5 big boy conferences. MU/tOSU should have been considered an elimination game but I smell fuckery there…along with all this Oregon talk. The narrative is always changing and it’s just to cover the undeniable fact that it’s all a ratings play. Pisses me off as y’all have an outstanding resume with a win over us next Saturday.
  12. I mean, shit, fucking snow just dead ass stopped a punt at the 3. Don’t see that everyday.
  13. This announcing crew sucks ass but they did have it right when they said a great game, in the snow, at night is a great way to end a holiday weekend of CFB.
  14. Holy fuck what a run
  15. Looked like a false start missed there before the TO
  16. Targeting on his own teammate maybe
  17. You. I like you.
  18. Y’all gonna murder us Ollie like:
  19. Totally not surprised by this, we shot our wad against OU and Gordon has seemed hurt since. Wasn’t even sure we’d make a bowl game for awhile.
  20. I understand we are one of the better teams ATS recently, but Road Gundy After Huge Bedlam Win = poor investment.
  21. “We won at Iowa State, at night. And control our destiny”
  22. I spent five years across two companies talking on the phone for a living (tech support)…I absolutely hate talking on the phone. Pisses my wife off when a simple call is needed to schedule something, and I sulk simply because they don’t have a website where I can do it without the ‘our menu items have changed’ bullshit.
  23. There are so many times I’ll bust out laughing reading Surly, and my wife will ask what was so funny…it can be challenging to explain the vast, interwoven web of history that defines lore such as NowThis or Pedo Bear. Even the more mundane nuance of words purposefully misspelled, like corch and regarded. It’s all a beautiful tapestry of rich history laid down over the 12+ years I’ve been a part of this vibrant corner of the internet. This…this was not one of those times.
