I see some skepticism about this buck being expressed on the Texas Buck Registry FB page, too.

Update: Interesting that this FB page has now edited out some earlier comments about potential escapees from some breeding farms in that area.
Possibly, but here is the Army publication about the great success of last year's youth hunt at the Red River Armory:

Her is young Ms. Brewer's deer harvest there last year:
And another from the article:
One of these things does not look like the others.
I'm not buying that as a low-fenced buck in Bowie county unless somebody first clipped his breeding tag and then released it into a low-fenced pasture before harvesting it.
That's got to be David Barrow, Jr. The original developer was David Barrow Sr., who passed away in 1972.

I bet I ate a chopped brisket sandwich and a bag of Fritos at Bailey's BBQ at least 2 times a week in the 80s and 90s when doing stuff in federal court in Cowtown.
And I always had a schooner of beer with lunch at Angelo's on Friday afternoons!
There was one in Dallas near Highland Park. It was decent, but I'll always remember that place as where I watched Fred Akers and the Longhorns lose to Rice on a rainy night.
I find it increasingly easy to choose the "no tip" option, then leave cash in the jar or give it directly to the server on the way out. I try to never put a tip on a credit card -- there is no telling where that money is actually going.
Lots of nice equipment heading out of Austin this afternoon after the Formula One race. This is just the most recent 40 per FlightAware, the big exodus began after 3:30 or so. I bet that the FBO's were slammed this weekend:

Crazy, those prices. Same for the packaged beef cheeks.
Of course, when you buy the whole head (at old-school shops) -- they throw in the cheeks and the tongue for free!
That is Aderet: https://aderetrestaurant.com/
Really good place. I'm a goyim, but have some observant clients that have taken me there for lunch meetings.
That's exactly what I'm saying. There is no way for the IRS to know the circumstances of the payment. To them, a payment made to a taxpayer reported on a Form 1099 is going to be automatically classified as taxable income.
Here's another wrinkle for those that just want to have the IRS send you a bill for what the declare what you owe based upon all of the electronic data that has been sent to them about you:
Venmo, The $600 Threshold, And You: What’s An (Honest) Taxpayer To Do?
https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxvox/venmo-600-threshold-and-you-whats-honest-taxpayer-do
As an example, say that you buy Longhorn season tickets for a group of your friends and they pay you back for their share of the cost through Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. Starting in 2024, that payment is going to be reported to the IRS on a Form 1099 that the IRS will assume to be income to you. Good luck sorting all of that out with the IRS even under the current system, much less some kind of automated system where the IRS figures it all out for you automatically.
