  1. Precision Camera on W Anderson offers conversions for a decent variety of formats.
  2. For doing anything in my neighborhood and downtown you're better off just walking/biking on weekends that aren't December-February. I often walk or bike the Town Lake trail from my place to the office... it saves a lot of time and the scenery is great.
  3. I live in Barton Hills and work downtown, so generally in that vicinity- I'm talking about the gas stations on S. Lamar, Lake Austin Blvd., and Lamar north to ~35th.
  4. Yep, it has been that way for quite a while. Like imamac said, nobody ever really mentions that aspect in these threads.
  5. Fucking this- spot on- JFC just trying to run the simplest errand or grab breakfast can turn into a 3-hour shit show with how crowded everything is... lines at the gas stations are a fairly common thing now (fortunately I only go once a month or so)... they should start stationing bands at the gas stations now.
  6. I'd also seriously consider the San Antonio-ish areas people have recommended. SA is a lot of fun these days, it's very underrated. Re: Austin air travel- those extra travel options are in their very early days- it still generally sucks. That said, I still have a shit ton of miles w/United I've never used because they're worthless living here.
  7. You like to travel, correct? Keep in kind that for what you're used to living in Houston, air travel out of Austin fucking blows comparatively. Nowhere near as many direct flights, flights are noticeably more expensive, and it takes a lot fucking longer to get to your destination (connections). Quality restaurant options are a beating here too comparatively. It's all good if you realize/acknowledge you're giving up a lot of world class options to live in a place you find more aesthetically pleasing, but you'll always notice it. Also, it takes a long time to get accustomed to the lack of diversity here. Actually, it never feels normal- you'll always notice the deficiency after living in Houston.
  8. I went to Tyson's quite a bit 2014-2017 when I worked north-ish. The tacos were very good (2nd the crispy duck) and free beer on Fridays was always nice. You never knew what the keg would be- sometimes craft, sometimes Lone Star, etc. but always free.
  9. Has the water or ice been in your mom's vagina?
  10. utee94 was inverted.
  11. I've used it as my happy hour destination many times.
  12. Do you have a fireplace?
  13. It's still there.
  14. Very close- just on the other side of the street west of the Railroad tracks.
  15. Yep. I was there last Saturday (got there ~11:00a.m.) and easily more than 130 people filtered through there by the time I left around 1:30. It gets a pretty solid crowd after work on weekdays too.
  16. Can't remember if it has been posted in this thread... anyone know what's going in on the north side of Oltorf between Lamar and the railroad tracks? They've dug a huge hole in the ground on the lot by Rock n' Roll Rentals.
  17. They've started digging on the Google lot.
  18. Well, I guess it goes from God, to Jerry, to you, to the cleaners. Right, Kent?
  19. I watched it when it first aired and gave up after the first few episodes.
  20. Current progress at the Google building as of this morning. Not much has changed visibly, but it seems their almost finished with the retaining walls. Also, they're building the sidewalk and putting in trees at Austin Proper or whatever the hell it's called across the street.
