  1. You have echoed my point. From the date Arkansas left the SWC, its rivalry with Texas was dead. When aggy left the Big 12, its perceived rivalry with Texas was dead. And yes, financially, CFB has exploded, thus proving the point that rivalries are NOT needed for the proliferation of the money grab in college football. It was Skippy McSkip who previously attempted to connect rivalries and geography with the golden goose. My reply indicated his statement was fallacious. College football is about Mr. Green. Dammit.. pay attention.
  2. Too late. Texas - aggy ... dead Texas - Arkansas ... dead Kansas - Missouri ... dead Oklahoma - Nebraska ... dead Oklahoma - Okie Lite ... Soon to be dead Colorado - Nebraska ... dead Nebraska - Relevance ... dead The golden goose is already on the platter having been plucked, brined, stuffed with celery, onion, rosemary, oranges, butter/sage rubbed on the breast and under the skin, roasted at 350 degrees and now being served up. The networks/streaming services will make all of the important calls from this point forward. Whatever is in their best, financial interests will be implemented. Colleges, universities, fans, athletics ... are mere sacrificial lambs being placed on the altar of profiteering.
  3. Soooooooo.... you take Wisconsin, whose border is touched by not just one, but TWO of the Great Lakes ... and you put them in the Great Plains Division? Then you take Rutgers, which actually borders the Atlantic Ocean ... and you put them in the Great Lakes Division? Then, you take Penn State, which borders one of the Great Lakes ... and you put them in the Atlantic Division? Then, you take Minnesota, which borders both Canada and one of the Great Lakes ... and you put them in the Great Plains Division? Then, you take Notre Dame, which is in Indiana, which is 2 time zones, and which at closest, is 6 states away from the Pacific Ocean, and put them in the Pacific Ocean? Uh..... alrighty then!
  4. Does sunshine ever miss you?
  5. Eventually, one or more universities are going to say, "we could lose up to $100 million or more from these Grant of Rights documents. OR ... we can approach a Billy BadAss law firm and say, "Here you go boys. Here's a $5 million flat fee. Go git 'em." And GORs are looked at through the lens of sovereign immunity, lack of consideration, the conferences themselves are in essence, non-entities since revenue is passed on to the schools, the GOR is not a bilateral contract and/or is an improper assignment. If and when that happens, in terms of college football, that could do away with 'formal conferences' completely and the universities in essence form a Board of Directors negotiating separately with television, steaming and whatever the next iteration is providers.
  6. I could be in for 2.
  7. You are my new hero! What mammaries... no wait... Memories!
  8. Man oh man... embrace those experiences! Each and every trip. Each and every moment. That is an incredibly special gift you two are sharing. Years from now, when your grandkids look up at you and ask, "what was great grandpa like?" the richness of life stories you will be able to tell will be special. Undoubtedly, your grandkids will at first be like, "Whatever...." But even though their ears may not be listening, their hearts will be. And their souls. Pass it forward. And as for being at the airport 4 hours ahead of time... that is what TSA Pre and Clear is for. That is what the Admiral's Club is for. And the Centurion Club. Enjoy!
  9. Cursive has become our (I'm an almost OLD, but since I act incredibly immature most of the time, that helps keep me young... well, that and porn). Anyhoo.... cursive had begun to become our secret code. Younglings couldn't decipher it. It was greatness. But now? Cursive is coming back. Why? Because some teachers are requiring their students to take tests in class, using pen and paper. Cell phones are in cubbies.
  10. Congrats to Pink Floyd. This past March was the 50th year anniversary of the release of that album. 1973 also saw the release of the following: The Exorcist The Sting Last Tango in Paris The Devil in Miss Jones The First mobile phone call was made Roe v. Wade decision And, we defeated aggy 42 - 13. Two sidenotes about that game ... Raymond Clayborn was Texas' first four year letterman. He made the NFL Pro Bowl 3x and was a 5X All-Pro cornerback for the Patriots. But, in the aggy game, he ran the ball 7 times, gained 28 yard but had 3 touchdowns. The other sidenote ... a little used player, a senior, carried the ball 2 times for 6 yards. His name? Tom Landry, Jr. Now back to our regularly scheduled, current day, aggy buffoonery.
  11. Nothing wrong with Lions threads here... for that matter, same for Tampa Bay.
  12. Only if they were this blue again ... but NOT at home.
  13. Dear Penthouse, I never thought this would happen to me, but I attend a small state university in the south. I am in a frat and love the Greek life. We throw frequent parties in which we float a number of kegs and try to loosen the morals (and legs) of as many coeds as possible. But recently, a local 35 year old MILF has begun to attend our parties. She is fun, is really hot as in 5'6", about 125 lbs, blondish hair falling to just below her shoulders and her measurements are 36D, 26, 36. So, you might be wondering how I know her exact measurements ... and that is where this story REALLY begins ...
  14. Check out the Knox-Henderson area ... https://www.visitdallas.com/neighborhoods/knox-henderson/ Uptown... https://www.visitdallas.com/neighborhoods/uptown/ The Design District is coming alive. https://www.visitdallas.com/neighborhoods/uptown/ If you want to go far north, check out Legacy West. https://www.visitplano.com/guide-to-legacy-west-in-plano-tx/ Any area of town is what you make of it. There will be douchenozzles and cool people everywhere. I lived in the second to the top floor at the Mondrian for a number of years (Uptown). I loved the vibe. Now, am very far North Dallas and love the atmosphere I have found here as well. Life is what you make of it.
  15. Of course not! Don't be absurd! We absolutely should! They have a name for this. It is called ... HYPOCRISY !!!! Duh.
  16. I did lurvs me some Charley Steiner.
  17. DAMN IT SALLY... WHERE ARE THE DAMNED COOKIES AND ORANGE SLICES!!!???
  18. You make him bald and more curmudgeony looking... and yep... that's pretty accurate.
  19. Cantankerous, Out of Touch, Old Man Opinion TIME. (GET OFF MY LAWN YOU DAMN KIDS! CLOUDS... YOU SUCK!) Isn't committing to a school a bit like becoming engaged? You haven't signed your LOI, you have not said, "I DO" so there is still time to bolt. But, if you're engaged, would your fiancee be on board with you going out with other girls/guys/gender fluid, whatever persons? So, this dude verbally commits (which could impact other running backs Texas was looking at), but he is still going to take his official visits to Bama, Georgia and Tennessee? Because? He is not really sold on Texas all the way? Or, he wants to see if those other schools will bid higher for his services? I don't see the point in verbally committing and still taking other visits. Just say you are impressed with Texas, want to carefully weigh all of your options and then definitively decide after all visits. What is the over/under on the number of times this dude decommits, then commits elsewhere, then de-commits, rinse repeat? OK, now back to your regularly scheduled posting. LID OUT.
  20. There are some damned good souls posting on this thread. It doesn't matter how many times you fall ... as long as you pick yourself up one more time than the number of times you fall.
  21. Doesn't Linda Cohn have an extra toe she can lend Sanders?
  22. Isn't the Thanksgiving night game on the NFL network or NBC? So, let the great unwashed, which comprises much of the NFL fandom (love the NFL goon thread), watch whatever game that night and have ESPN roll out Texas - aggy Thanksgiving night. Two completely different audiences. We get back some tradition. aggy gets one of their 1,500,000,000 turditions back. We get a few extra days of rest before we play in the SECSECSEC championship game. What's not to like?
  23. I hope you are taking steps to take care of yourself. It can be such a feeling of helplessness, so desperately wanting to "be there," to want to say the right thing, to do the right thing and all the while, knowing that people must surely go through their own grief. I hope you are checking in with those that help keep you centered.
  24. Thanks Schlong of the Bear. The past two weeks have been incredibly trying and I am still processing if true change is coming... or if it is merely a facade. Will detail in the next day or so when I can articulate clearly. Am grateful for this thread.
