  1. We went to the Cathedral Church of Sts Cyril and Methodius, and the Heydrich assassination, and aftermath, is very interesting. I had not seen Anthropoid and knew nothing about the story, but wow. I would definitely recommend going to this church and checking out the memorial/museum there.
  2. Dammit, wish I'd known that before we went, since your food recs are usually good.
  3. Yes, some excellent Prague advice above. We went recently and it is a great city. Would highly recommend the following, some of which were already mentioned by @956 Worldwide: Taste of Prague Foodie Tour - these guys are awesome and it's a fun way to eat/drink your way around; we hit several of the spots mentioned in this thread Nase Maso/The Real Meat Society/Kantyna - all great meat-centric places Strahov Monastery - think this is different than the one mentioned above, but unbelievable libraries/ceilings and great beer garden Kuchyn - agree with this rec for sure; cool at night when Castle is lit up Lokal - several location and excellent Pilsner Urquell U Kalendu - great dinner spot Hemingway Bar - again, solid rec above; good drinks, nice setting and friendly staff Spanish Synagogue Concert - saw Hallelujah concert here and it was good We also hit Vienna on the same trip and really liked: Zum Schwarzen Kameel - cool cafe and good people-watching Musikverein - excellent historic music venue; saw Vienna Philharmonic and it was impressive Schloss Schonbrunn - a must see Nussdorf - nearby wine/Heurigen area; go to Mayer am Pfarrplatz (at Beethoven's home) Cafe Frauenhueber - neat old cafe; kinda somber/quirky, but the real thing Vienna Sausage - sounds ridiculous, but great place for a dog on the Ringstrasse Prague and Vienna were different in many ways, but both great places to visit and way too many great/fun places to list here. Clean, beautiful architecture and friendly people. I want to go back someday for sure. Have fun.
  4. Yep, that Murray/Kokkinakis match was f'in unreal and awesome to watch. Someone needs to post a link to the ridiculous break point Murray won...it's unbelievable. Never been a big Murray fan, but gotta respect him coming back from 2 sets down to win after 5 hours 45 minutes. It was sick.
  5. Maybe I'm crazy, but I really wasn't impressed with him as a coach, even though that was an absolutely great/loaded team. That said, I admit that my utter hate for Baylor is probably clouding my judgment. Fuck Baylor.
  6. Saw something upthread about Drew. I'm sure it's just one of these media clowns spewing names, but hell no. Never been impressed with his coaching and there's a reason Barnes hated his slimy ass...he's a pos hack m'fer from Baylor. No f'in thanks.
  7. I'm sure it has been buried somewhere amongst inane discussion re punters, chicken fried steak and hotel curtains, but when is the deadline for guys to go in the portal and when does this crazy shit end?
  8. Jeez, how wide ass open was Bijan on that one Sat night, when Ewers threw underneath to Sanders instead...all f'in alone and would've walked in.
  9. Yep, very disappointing atmsophere. That said, it was somewhat understandable, since the offense sucked the life out of the crowd ala...
  10. I just hope those clowns McAfee & Luke Bryan stabbed each other to death after yesterday's show. Never thought I'd be missing Corso. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk
  11. Was wondering who that was...he was great. This show is excellent. As someone mentioned above, funny + heart = win. Also, just heard Harjo on Fresh Air as well. Really good interview with Terry Gross.
  12. Bingo. Sometimes I like to think I'm at zero fucks, but I'm fooling myself. By the time I hit the gates of the fair, I'll be as excited as ever...and as pissed as ever while pounding beers afterwards. I feel lucky to have fully experienced 2005 and am pretty much resigned to never sniffing anything like it again in my lifetime.

  14. How much cash was in the lock box that the valedictorian pulled the hat out of? There appeared to be ample room for bags in that thing and the guard had a wry grin on his face.
  15. Oh yes, we used to wear that thing out. A buddy and I were young associates at our first firm back then and the office manager came to us, asking with raised eyebrows, about all of these 900 number calls from our extensions. Not sure she bought our explanation that they were all recruiting-related.
