  1. Oh they absolutely cannot offer much back other than a torrent of buzzword bullshit bingo that they hear everyday in their echo chamber. If it's someone I'm close with (and not a client or my boss) I'll tell them, "I'm sorry, I don't speak Fox News, you're going to have to explain to me what it is you're actually talking about." But again, the lack of any shared reality makes it really difficult to make any progress. Facts don't care about your feelings and all of that such as.
  2. I think it's terrifying, but it's not just that people don't think he's doing a good job; it's the consensus among the FNC injectors that the country is going to hell in a hand basket and it's all Biden's fault! I've told co-workers and family members that I think Biden is doing just fine and they look at me like I've got a third eye coming out of my forehead. I'm not telling them that Biden is the best POTUS of all time (like many thought about Trump), just that I think he's doing a good job given the turd burger he inherited. Nope, the low unemployment rate and inflation lower than the rest of our global peers is just a giant conspiracy to hide the truth that the economy is in shambles. No one wants to work any more! Oil would be ~$50/bbl if we would just drill ANWR! The record number of Border Patrol apprehensions show that Biden's open border policy isn't working! I told my dad a while back that we couldn't even agree on a shared reality any longer, much less discuss policy disagreements. He just shrugged and I'm sure thinks it's me who has been indoctrinated. But I'll keep banging my head against the wall whenever possible because I don't know what else to do.
  3. AMY and IBRX can eat a Richard.
  4. Basically where I am at this point too. I don’t know or care what historical bucket that puts me in either. The out and out fuckery caused me to stop/look around/reevaluate some long held beliefs that I essentially inherited from my parents. When I wade into someplace like IT’s political forum I feel a little surprised that more of my fellow longhorns haven’t done the same thing. Surprised and disappointed tbh.
  5. I checked out the politics forum on Inside Texas last week. We’ve got waaay more TexAgish posters than I realized.
  6. I'm in the same exact boat. I wear it out and about in deep East Texas and never get a second look. It's one of my favorite tshirts.
  7. Oh yea, I'm sure Comer is going to jump right on that.
  8. The FDA might update their recs to match Canada's 2 drinks/day. So of course the right wing fear porn machine turns that in to OMG, the radical leftist are only going to let you have 2 beers a day. Nanny State! Loud Noises!!!!!1!!1!!One!
  9. He's like a shitty WWF performer now. People that eat that shit up should probably wear a helmet when they leave the house every day.
  10. Awesome! The road was great down where we were. Huge rock trucks were running up and down the road to a quarry somewhere up there. And yea, there are so many random roads to drive up there and water running along a lot of them. My old boss took me on some random pass between Jackson and Pinedale years ago, probably 60+ miles of dirt road through public land. We'd see some fishy looking water and hop out with 2 wts and catch so many small Brookies that were wild and hungry. I couldn't get back to that spot on my own if I tried.
  11. 3 people survived that shit!? Was it Bruce Willis and his kids?
  12. The upper New Fork. You can see a bridge in the distance that goes across to one of the cabins. Greys River. Faler Creek. We couldn't get the big Browns to come out from under the cut banks. Lunch spot on the New Fork float. I think this was the biggest fish on the trip - ~21" floating the same beat that we did.
  13. I had a good trip up to Pinedale, WY last week. Fished the Greys River outside of Alpine the first day for about 30 minutes and didn't have much luck. We only had about an hour to kill before needing to drive to Pinedale and just pulled over at a decent looking spot to cast a bit. I think we should have driven further up the forest road for better water; it was moving too fast where we were and was pretty difficult to fish. It was a beautiful river though and I'd like to go back at some point. That evening we fished some private water on the upper New Fork River. My old boss grew up in Pinedale and one of his childhood friends has some old family land north of town that was spectacular. I think this piece was ~900 acres or so and boss' friend and his brother and sister all had little 1 room cabins at different places along the river. The flows were already pretty low through this stretch but we still caught a few small ones on 2/3 wts. We cooked burgers on the front porch of the cabin, had a campfire, drank some bourbon and waited for the stars to come out. I loved it. The next day we did a walk/wade on Faler Creek with guides from Two Rivers Fishing Co - https://www.tworiversfishing.com/ I've posted about this water before on here - had one of my best fly fishing days ever at Faler 6-7 years ago. It's a long hike into the creek from where you have to park, but the water is so fucking good and there are huge fish everywhere. It was a blue bird day with no clouds in the sky so the fishing was pretty tough. My best was a ~18" Cutthroat that blew up on a big ass Circus Peanut. Only got 2 other fish to hand but had a great day. Best fish was a ~20" Brown that my old boss caught. If you are ever up around Pinedale I highly recommend booking a guide through Two Rivers and going to fish this place. I think they have the exclusive rights to the water but our guide said most people want to float the Green or New Fork and so Faler doesn't get a ton of pressure since it is walk/wade only. The last day we floated the New Fork and had a blast. We didn't catch a lot of big fish, but I think me and my buddy caught 69 fish and the other boat that floated our same beat caught 55 or so. We caught Browns, Rainbows, a few Cutties, and quite a few big Whitefish. This is a beautiful river as well and the flow was still great for being this late in the year. We scraped bottom in a few places but didn't have to hop out or anything like that. Our guide was a great kid who worked his ass off for us and really enjoyed having some younger guys who were fired up to be out there. We drank beers, listened to music, and kissed the "fish whistle" while catching a ton of fish. Can't really ask for much more than that. I'll post some pics here in a bit. If you're planning a trip to WY, I'd strongly recommend getting out of Jackson to fish around Pinedale. We flew in and out of Jackson and it was a zoo with people and traffic everywhere.
  14. Wasn’t Durham a US attorney at the time of his appointment as well? Doesn’t seem all that irregular.

Agreed on 4WD being a must have. I never go mudding or really in any terrain that needs 4WD, but use it all the time when pulling out a stump or pulling a heavy trailer or stuff like that.
  16. Well that's a good start. MOAR
  17. I'm glad he slipped in that thang has a hemi in it. amirite? @Mother mopar
  18. I remember doing that same stretch of road when I was in high school - in a '91 4Runner with a severely under powered 3.0 V6. Getting stuck behind a semi and needing a long stretch of open road to get up the speed to pass was absolute misery.
  19. This is fucking brutal at this point (has been for a while). Come on man.
  20. Meatball rn, probably.
