  1. Champion of small government.
  2. Uh, defending other teams in the Big12 like I give a shit whether they are respected makes my skin crawl, but claiming ISU would be last in the SEC West is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen written on that board. Which is really saying something. I guess they were too busy celebrating the greatest moral victory season of all time last year to notice that division was objectively shitty last season.
  3. https://theathletic.com/2664654/2021/06/23/texas-embraces-steve-sarkisians-all-gas-no-brakes-m-o-in-the-horns-latest-go-at-restoring-the-programs-glory/ For the "Kai Money is one of our best players, we can expect to win more than 7 games" crowd:
  4. I'm assuming Damion Miller has given up football? Looks like he was on TJC's roster in '19 but I don't see anything more recent. Wonder if he'll be tagging along with the family for the visit, has to be tough.
  5. The Athletic has a series that does it (we didn't make the top25 of the 2016 re-rank): Most of those in the top 25 have a "hit rate" of 75% or higher. By my count, 23% of the 2019 Texas recruiting class never played a single live snap at UT.
  6. Start panicking when our targets start committing to other schools. Nobody is committing to anywhere right now, June pledges are way down from previous cycles across the county. It's not a normal year for recruiting.
  7. I mean, holy shit. https://247sports.com/college/texas/season/2019-football/commits/ Out of 26 signees, 8 transfers (assuming Smith is gone) and 3 medical retirements. Whit has been the most productive out of the top 10 guys signed and he's barely been able to stay on the field. Adimora probably has played the most out of anyone in the class. Just unbelievably bad.
  8. He's had one foot out of the door since the day he enrolled, often hurt and he only seems moderately interested when he is available. He can enjoy USC.
  9. Maybe after a stop somewhere else first. I guess he had a TCU offer but he's going to have to show he's good enough at football before those big hearted HCs (figuratively and literally in the case of Pat) decide he's actually a great kid that deserves a second chance.
  10. This is hilariously irrelevant. Is this your first year following spring football?
  11. Yeah, what the computer said. Saban regularly had offenses with multiple first rounds picks on the OL, and Julio Jones, Mark Ingram, Eddie Lacy, and Trent Richardson all on the same team that would finish outside the top 20 in yards and points. It wasn't until he hired Kiffin that things really took off for their offense and they peaked last season under Sark. I think it's safe to say Washington was pretty below average talent that he inherited. USC is it's own deal. It's also worth noting that he didn't call the plays at those stops and he's called that a mistake that he won't be making again. Guy knows his strengths as a coach and has learned from his missteps along the way. We have enough talent where the only thing he should have to do with Money and Brewer is figure out their proper placement for a nice senior day ovation. That said...yeah fine it's probably not a bad idea to hold off on sucking each other's dick after the decade plus we've had. It's silly to act like his offensive reputation is solely based on Saban's 5stars though.
  12. The Warriors missed the playoffs because they didn’t get a single game from their 2nd best player and the huge cap number he ties up (minus the relatively small exception they got back). I think it may be a little reductive to say the Jazz were bounced because Rudy is overplayed but he did have a bad series. Agree, the 76ers loss is all on Simmons
  13. Ha, he was the guy explaining compound interest and blowing everyone's mind. Good for him, will be interesting to see what happens from here. I haven't seen any statements from coaches or teammates yet.
  14. Well that’s just like...your experience. Stop trying to keep Cole from living free.
  15. Agreed, post signing day when Sarkisian was making the tv/radio/podcast rounds he made a point to mention Abiara pretty much every time. Feels like the staff is really high on him.
  16. The Phillips talk caused me to fall down a rabbit hole in his wikipedia, what a fucking lunatic. I was pretty young during his time at Neb and didn't remember most of the details. Aaron Hernandez may have caught more bodies but Phillips really stacked up some heinous domestic violence numbers. Seeing that Bradford was arrested in December for shoplifting was pretty quaint really.
  17. It's really not as uncommon as some of you guys make it out to be. From 2019 class alone several elite guys did it: https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Football/Decommits/?sortby=rank Stingley, Trey Sanders, Evan Neal, Bru McCoy (sort of counts?), Theo Wease...
  18. I'm starting to feel like young Donovan just may have a need for attention.
  19. Not ideal, but on the bright side I think Sarkisian and most of the staff are probably pretty unfazed by these type of chaotic recruitments given their previous experience. They've been on both sides of it and I'd expect them to keep working on Owens with little damage done from the actual de-commitment. If it was Tom it's more likely than not he would immediately pull some arrogant bullshit borne out of his insecurity and burn the bridge for the player, their family, trainer, and several other prospects in the class at the process.
  20. “The NCAA doesn’t investigate violations because of the fear of being cancelled” is quite a take.
  21. That's true and I guess it would be very NCAA to drop the hammer on Washington for some kind of administrative fuckups and didn't help them scrape together their barely top 20 classes while whistling past the open auctions going on in the SEC.
  22. Washington hasn't recruited well enough to have been significantly cheating though.
