  1. Paxton just needs to put a photo of Cornyn's brisket on a dozen billboards across the state and he wins by a landslide without raising another dime.
  2. The Space Needle is indeed cool. But it's like a lot of similar places in New York and Chicago, in that if you don't go early or midweek, you could get stuck in a very long line to spend 15-20 minutes at the top. Even with timed-entry tickets, it can take a while to get to the top of the Space Needle. I've been up there twice and don't feel the need to go back.
  3. I'm also there this week, Wednesday through Sunday. The weather looks like it'll be outstanding -- lots of sun and highs in the upper 70s. Of your list, we're going to Rock Creek, Chihuly Gardens, and Pike Place (our apartment is about five blocks north in the Belltown area). Book a tour at Seattle Underground. I took my kids several years ago and it was pretty cool. http://www.undergroundtour.com/ Or, stroll around Fremont. The lower Fremont area (if that's what they call the south side closer to the water) has some great lunch spots and breweries. Local Tide is supposed to be the hot new seafood place.
  4. I’m not here to answer your questions.
  5. So addictive that he’s never going to buy another bag again.
  6. It was the best option that wasn’t out of the way. Brisket was just okay, but the jap cheese sausage slapped, and the potato salet and coleslaw were solid.
  7. Oh sure, when it comes to those kinds of cats Baylor speaks out consent . . . .
  8. Let’s talk about your capitalization of “have.”
  9. That was a horrible time to be alive.
  10. I have friends in Pemberton Heights.
  11. MAGA can beat me up, it just can't take away my rights.
  12. We just can't afford to lose the Dearborn, Michigan vote again.
  13. The good news is that the property owner can now build a McMansion with that pesky protected tree out of the picture.
  14. I love a cold turkey drumstick on Thanksgiving evening after many beers and several hours of football.
  15. Dropping the kids off at camp just west of Marble Falls on Sunday. Recommendations for some good BBQ on the drive back to Austin? We usually take 1431 home, and 71 is just a tad out of the way, but we'd consider that if it's the best route for BBQ.
  16. Tech is still pissed at Texas, and still would prefer that they were in the same conference with Texas for the opportunity to beat them every once in a while even if it means fewer conference championships.
  17. I have no idea why the South Austin in the 1992-1998 years never watched Larry Sanders, other than as I recall I was an undergrad and grad student during that entire time and I don't believe I never had premium cable with HBO. I was an avid Seinfeld fan, and I've always thought Garry Schandling was hilarious. On a related note, sometime after Tom Petty's death, I saw this video of him hanging out at Shandling's house, just a couple dudes chilling and talking. Apparently Tom and Garry were good friends, and I think that friendship may originated with Petty's cameo on the Larry Sanders show.
  18. First God, then his parents and family, and then his coaches.
  19. It’s okay, Donald. We all know that your hatred of America is way more impressive than Leonard Leo’s.
  20. Another deluge in 78759. My house was fine, but a section of the hood a few blocks away lost power.
