We may look back on the Jordan Travis knee injury like Colt's shoulder in terms of the trajectory of a program defining loss.

Max it’s on you tube. You likely use the Roku to grab it in English.
  3. Elko looked like a goob all night. Not a great look. At the very end , my take on him yelling at the. OC “…run the ball..” was to tell CW to take the huge yardage ND was giving him when he was flushed and threw errantly out of bounds on the last drive. Not ‘run the ball’ like we’re waving the white flag. Of course, we all know they weren’t going to score 13 points in 40 seconds or whatever. Then the OC calls a running play on the very next snap and it’s ballgame. They were all fucked up by that point, but I think Elko was saying take the scramble yardage. Could be wrong. They also should have punted with 94 seconds left down 7 and all 3 time outs. Keep it a one score game and get the ball back. ND would have sat on it pinned back deep.
  4. I hung with one for awhile circa '90 and that was a tough bunch back then.
  5. Cant speak too specifically to Deer Valley but have been to Park City 5 of the last 6 years (went to Breck last year). We usually carve out a day for DV and its fucking sweet. As I understand it, they limit the # of lift tickets, so it has an exclusive feel. Plus no snowboarding, so it automatically weeds out a lot of people. There are 4-5 top resorts on property (Montage et al level quality). While we have not stayed on DV proper, we have ventured to the Montage and you cant really go wrong with any of them. They have a great bar and lobby. We typically stay near the Town Lift in PC so we can ski in ski out... several of the hotels on DV mountain afford the same convenience, ski valet, etc. Our friends rented a house in DV on the loop that leads to the mountain and with one call, they send a suburban to pick you up , very nice perk. They are basically on call for you to and from mountain, Park City, grocery etc... The ski schools are top notch, very good with kids according to our friends. I may be off here, but if Park City is like skiing a country club, DV felt like the Masters. IMO its several cuts above PC. One of things that has drawn us to this area is the proximity to SLC airport. You really dont need a car to ski this area. 45 minute uber if you choose to not rent a car.
  6. Clap....Clap.....Clap
  7. This game is far from a walk in the park.
  8. I know I know, i was pulling a Saban. He called them Memphis St on gameday and X went nuts with all the olds giving him props
  9. They ran away, she'll be fine once cooler heads prevail. They both signed the note (see the plus sign under his name?) regarding skipping town and then he added "see you on the other side" as a footnote...just my take. Ditched the phones, likley on drugs/bender.
  10. Schedule reads weird...right, then down left, then right again etc.... BC is next game then a bye before Memphis St and Keith Lee, Baskerville Homes et al come to Tally.
  11. Not odd at all, as the car was picked up on surveillance (toll booth?) in Colorado, it was not at the new apartment after the night of the disappearance. ***MORE UPDATE All we know about the car is that it went through a reader in colorado on 1-25 Friday evening Unless you are referring to the property manager's car, the post upthread said the vehicle was already spotted in CO.
  12. agreed. i passed on those in op...Allen Edmonds and several other have better options and a lot less
  13. Fleeting days of summer in OBA.
  14. wealth concentration= consolidation , thus less of an owner/people/investor pool. That's the way Interpret it.
  15. That's the way I understand it and that would be a travesty. With split Congress I cant see that going anywhere. To add that to the discourse, if there is a net loss on paper is that then deductible? Talk about a cluster of epic proportions. Only one who wins in that case is tax preparers. This will also lead to a boon in IRA, thus taking discretionary dollars out of the economy, which is 75% of the economy, loss sales tax, GDP etc..less tax revenue.
  16. Yes that is correct. A war weary US populous and Patton's own hubris prevented that, on whole. There were other factors, but the most notably Patton, as popular as he was with his own men, was equally disdained by the Brittish and basically forced into retirement. That is one reason why his death was so eery. Some believe it was a hit, I do not. But he was not well liked and the command and control of that theatre was ready for him to go back to the states.
  17. The only thing remember about Melton's RB career here is the option play at tOSU where he pulled up at the goal line just a tad and kept the buckeyes in it. Of course we got a safety on the next play or two, but GDGD calling an option to our power back at the 1 damn near cost us.
  18. plus practice squad reps to give our D a better back to go against in addition to what you mentioned. Blue, Wisner, Gibson, Davis, another athlete will likely all get meaningful carries first, but doesnt hurt to have this guy in the mix.
  19. TAMU is getting the home game first in all 3 announced HTH matchups. Football, VB and MBB. Wonder if we may can get baseball at home. Of course MBB in January is aok with me as the students will not be on campus, but i know it will still be packed.
  20. No doubt, when all of this started, I did the same based on a rec on this thread. Very telling piece. I had read some on Stalin while reading Patton's book and the ethos of the Russian soldier always intrigued me. For those that have not read it, as @Gatorubet noted, it is a first hand account of what it is like to be in the Russian army, it will blow you away. Louis Gossett Jr making Richard Gere do pullups and pushups in the rain is romper room as a comparison.
  21. My gut tells me they have an A team, B team etc...they put the loyalists together with the good armaments and what little in the way of good supplies they have...they give the scrubs feathered in with the regulars certain assignments. They likely have a couple hundred thousand of the sufficiently trained army men. Then the rest is the scrubs and they give them shit. They use the blocking brigades to keep the worst of the bunch (convicts, scripts, foreigners, ne'er do wells) in place and more or less dont count on them doing much accept cannon fodder, placeholders etc...from what I've been able to ascertain from this thread , and reading One Soldiers War, they mix in plenty of the scrubs with the A team to use as needed for sniffing out the enemy positions and don't need the blocking brigade as the regulars keep them in the front using techniques such as alcohol, threat of torture, bullying and outright beatings. Complete fubar in that entire outfit, like a big neighborhood bully that all it takes in someone to punch them in the face and depants them. Which i pray is happening or will happen.
  22. well that seems good.

    Western Novels

Its been awhile since I read The Son, was my description close? Layered story? I read BM based on recommendations on this thread, its a ball-breaker to read and i will likely need to read again as there were many passages that went right over my head.
