  4. https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-baseball-game-abruptly-suspended-073606034.html If only some of our LB's & safeties could hit like that. (maybe a little forearm involved) Texas baseball game abruptly suspended after pitcher tackles opponent on the diamond A junior college pitcher leveled an opposing hitter as he rounded the bases during a home run trot Wednesday in Texas, video of the incident showed. The game between the host Weatherford College and the North Central Texas College was suspended in the top of the sixth inning following the incident. A North Central Texas College batter had homered and just touched third base when the Weatherford pitcher blindsided him, the broadcast from TSRN Sports showed. The baserunner's helmet went flying as he was slammed to the ground. His teammates poured out of their third base dugout to pounce on the pitcher, peeling him off the home run hitter. The long ball had given the visitors a 3-2 lead before the mayhem. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured. Weatherford College said the school is investigating. “We are shocked and disappointed at what happened in our game today,” Jeff Lightfoot, Weatherford baseball coach and assistant athletic director, said in a statement. “We do not condone this type of behavior. We have worked hard to build a program with the highest of standards," he said. "We are completely embarrassed by this incident, and we apologize to North Central Texas College and the fans of WC baseball. This type of behavior cannot be tolerated.” North Central Texas College Chancellor Brent Wallace said he hopes the "unfortunate events at Weatherford College will be used as a teaching moment for our student athletes to help ensure these incidents do not occur in the future.”
  5. I don't go out of my way to eat at Applebee's and they are so far down the list of choices that I would probably think of going home to eat before thinking "oh, wait...how about Applebee's?" I'm sure their restaurants are mostly franchised owned and only as good as the ownership/management makes them. They should even put ownership's names on the sign like "Stan's Applebee's" or "Larry's Applebee's" so we all know whether it is a "sucks really bad" location or is just a "sucks mediocre" location. What really hurt was Bennigan's shutting down locations; their Reuben sandwich and Monte Cristo sandwich were awesome. They had a happy hour and I would meet my brother in law for dinner...we ordered our Reuben, drank beer and tried to play that online trivia game until they cut us off.
  6. just f'n leave the pitching coach in kansas...
  7. I know they were discussing the weekend weather changes on Wednesday & Thursday on the Golf channel so it was definitely known.
  8. Wind is going to blow today and later groups will have higher scores when those greens dry out. Spieth needs to take advantage with the early tie time.
  9. Was that a Texas issued temporary paper plate in the rear window of the getaway car?
  10. My wife and daughter said the same thing after their visit at UT. They talked with the host who did the tour and found out she was attending Texas St and working at UT doing campus tours. They did tours with my sister-in-law and nephew, including B10 schools Indiana (wife's school), Purdue & Michigan, and said out of all the schools Texas Tech did the best job of selling their school, lol.

  21. Beard put this team in the position to win this game (and many others) and the players couldn't get the job done. So many missed free throws, especially the front-end of 1 and 1's, and all the missed open, uncontested shots from the field did them in. On paper this team was legit with veteran shooters like Jones, Ramey and Febres but they were just too inconsistent and could not make the shots when needed. That was the story of the 2022 season. I'm glad they are moving on and looking forward to next season.
