  1. yeah, the offense is the problem here. demoting easily the best hire you made and a true up and comer who has done very good all things considered if you want a real laugh compare how they did last year vs this year. and demoting Sean Lewis is the single worst decision he could have made coaching staff wise. its going to impact his ability to hire actual up and coming coaches moving forward and is a terrible look for a guy who left a HC job for you. then you demote him for one of the 5 worst NFL coaches by win% since the super bowl era and who was last successful in 2017 with the Vikings and whose last experience at the college level was in 1998 with the 3-8 Stanford Fighting Willinghams? terrible decision. wonder if lewis even stays around at this point
  2. i agree with all of this. wonder when his contract is over and if his ties to Texas save him. have to imagine with everything rocking and rolling it makes it easier to move on from him.
  3. CTJ and others will have WAY more insight into the boosters/program but i think he's absolutely about to pull a jack sparrow out of Clemson into Bama if they want him. also i am guessing that by moving programs he can then re-evaluate and become "more flexible" around some of his restrictions.
  4. part of the reason those dudes have played in the last few games is because Catalon hasn't - both vs U of H and BYU. i assume you are calling for more snaps for Derek Williams but who else? the only guys in the room outside of Bugg, Catalon, Williams are Crawford, Taaffe and 2 dudes who i assume will be portaling out at the end of the year (BJ Allen hasn't played in a game since Rice. Hyphen hasn't played in a single game this year) with how many rotations they are playing at CB, i kind of question why they haven't tried to shift anyone over to safety to at least have some more cross training/guys ready. it absolutely feels like we are going to see some portal movement at safety this offseason. guessing thompson comes back, catalon probably is NFL bound?, another year of williams would be great. did i imagine that Jordan or McDonald were talked about as potentially being safties vs CBs when they were recruited? Aeryn Hampton sure seems to be on the Jaydon Blue "he may make it to campus, he may not, he may play a snap, he may not, he may stay with the program and he may pull a Cecil Cherry at any time" career path. i think he is more of a CB vs a safety? i also thought that JJR was a safety but maybe not. Robinson was listed as a safety by 247 but is a "DB" on the depth chart and hasn't played in a single game yet. the participation report just let me know that 1) there is someone on the team named Tannehill Love 2) he plays LB and 3) he played vs Rice
  5. everything that was there about why Urban made sense for Texas (not pulling him away from another job he didn't want to leave like Venables, no buyout, ready to go day 1, can focus on the new team stuff / staff buildout vs coaching the last few games) also makes sense for A&M all that said, he's in the Jimmy Johnson situation where he's making a shitload to work like 15 saturdays a year and not have to deal with recruiting, boosters, NIL, game planning, late nights, etc. can't imagine he leaves all that to go live in College Station, Texas. Dabo is another interesting story where he is well poised to make $$$ at Alabama when Saban leaves - and he's absolutely their first call. why would he leave Clemson where he has it all for Texas A&M where he would be starting from scratch across the board and coming into a much less talented team than he would if he followed Saban or stayed at Clemson for another 5 years? i think you are right on the next name needing to be in place before your jettison your current guy into the sun. you have to have a big enough name that you can fundraise off of (genuinely don't think Elko is a big enough name for them) the name guys you have any hope of pulling at this point are folks like Kiffin who have a ton of positive but also negatives and who also hate you with a burning passion. or someone like Harbaugh, but can you imagine going from Ann Arbor to College Station? plus you know he will leave for the NFL at the first opportunity. Huge Freeze would probably kill it at A&M but they waited too long to go after him. PF Fleck has the cult thing down, but is in a comfortable job and his star has faded a ton over the last few years. i love Klieman and Leipold, but they aren't big enough names to get the $$$ out. they could potentially offer someone like James Franklin but the guy is like 2 years off of signing a 10 year extension. Lanning and someone like DeBoer aren't going anywhere. plus a younger up and coming guy is going to be hard to sell. Traylor would do a good job as well, but again not a big enough name. honestly Matt Ruhle probably would have killed it at A&M so glad he's not an option. ...all of this to say you know who the perfect hire for A&M would be? the father/son duo of Kirk and Brian Ferentz. he's pissed at iowa. he makes "only" 7 million. he's a great coach. he has experience in a town and university where everything revolves around the football team. he has a track record that A&M would be incredibly envious of. he has two losing seasons since 2000. he brings along his own offensive (in more ways than one) protege. he loves defense and white boys from small towns. he's borderline racist. he has perhaps the whitest coaching background and career of all time IT MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE.
  6. not this guy. just passing on what i was told.
  7. we keep hearing that is an open secret but he hasn't done it yet...would be a huge get.
  8. Leroy and Lewis is the answer to this question 100/100 times for me. not long lines + lunch and dinner service (so 2x options) + everything else that is there w/ cosmic + lots of seating and parking + amazing BBQ. i think somewhere like Terry Blacks fits into this as well when it comes to things like lines and seating and options. just know L&L only has brisket on Sat. not that it matters, id rather have the beef cheeks anyway.
  9. the folks i know in rural areas that are paying for it are replacing things like HughesNet or fixed wireless internet where you have an antenna on the side of your house or who use a hotspot for their internet that's a HUGE market of people switching over. the night sky stuff is a legit issue as is the fact that as more people use it it gets slower in an area which leads people to go back to their other options OR go to more traditional options as those spider out from cities.
  10. not him, only because there would be a million pics of it. honestly, it says *EVERYTHING* you need to know that he isn't out driving it all over the place in Austin now that we are <30 days from deliveries taking place. it is truly an oddly shaped, useless shitbox that is going to be a stain on the TSLA brand (which has its huge list of issues) this whole "bullet proof" thing is a prime example of how dumb everything is. i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to see some dumb fuck TSLA stan go out and test it on video then release the video. it's going to be amazing https://jalopnik.com/tesla-cybertrucks-bulletproofing-is-garbage-actually-1850980175?utm_medium=sharefromsite&utm_source=jalopnik_reddit also the bulletproof focus is dumb anyway. if someone is trying to shoot you in your car they are just going to shoot through the regular automotive glass in the dumb window right above it.
  11. there has been a lot written about his bit and folks saying they don't think it works in the era of the portal, and i tend to agree with everything written. i know some folks who know some folks at the BOR level who say it's happening and they said that BEFORE and AFTER last weeks game. the guy almost never speaks in absolutes, but he did on this specific topic.
  12. "i called doctors in wuhan" - WHAT? WHO? he says in it that after talking to docs in Wuhan they said they put too many people on intubated ventilators for an extended period and that was what was damaging lungs why are there all of these articles out here about how Musk personally donated vents or that his companies helped with vents then? he said people yelled at him and he said "yeah, but i do make space ships with life support systems - what do you do?" idk where the 80% number is from but yeah, turns out when you put really sick people in the ICU who have to be put on a vent they are in bad shape and a lot of them die. edit: added in some JAMA stuff on the 80%: https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/04/22/coronavirus-ventilators-survival/ here is the moneyshot, which nobody mentioned: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-helped-medtronic-tackle-ventilator-crisis-153911498.html and he offered to make vents: https://www.reuters.com/article/health-coronavirus-musk/teslas-musk-offers-to-make-ventilators-amid-shortage-in-coronavirus-battle-idUSL4N2BC1TT he donated 1200 to California: https://fortune.com/2020/03/24/coronavirus-ventilators-elon-musk/ which he fucked up and sent something else: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/17/tech/elon-musk-ventilators-california/index.html he sent them bipap and cpap machines.
  13. come on man! the LB room is so solid that you have a true freshman who was the composite #143 player in the State of Texas coming in and making the calls on the field. Cooper has 52 tackles, York has 47, Russell has 19 and the next 5 LBs on the team have 21 combined. for a quick comparison vs Texas Ford has 57, Gbenda has 35 and Hill has 35. the next 2 are Jett Bush (12) and Blackwell (10) who combined have 22 tackles themselves. not a 1:1 comparison with scheme differences, but they at least have dudes that are playing and making tackles beyond just the main 3. that A&M LB room is one minimal injury away from playing someone named Jurante Davis (Jackson State transfer who hasn't played since ULM and has 2 solo tackles), Martrell Harris (who has played in 7 games and has 2 solo tackles this year and didn't play vs South Carolina), Daymion Sanford (7 games, 2 solos total both vs New Mexico) or Chantz Johnson (7 games, 1 solo vs New Mexico) since A&M started conference (red line above), the 4 scholarship, non starter LBs have combined for 1 total tackle across 5 games. im not looking to see if that tackle, or any of the other ones, was a special teams or a defensive tackle. there are solid LB rooms out there, but the current Texas A&M LB room ain't one of them.
  14. i love the hatred he has for A&M because in so many ways he would be incredible there. dude talks a lot of shit, backs it up pretty well, is a hell of a football mind, can recruit, wins some big games (and loses some too), ok with the dirtiness of recruiting (Tenn, USC, Ole Miss, Alabama), is incredibly entertaining and love to be the underdog (and talking shit from that stance) Spurrier has some fantastic quotes but idk if there are any better than this one:

  16. from what i understand, LOTS of folks there under visa programs vs choosing to stay there
  17. this is fantastic. a site with a trillion porn bots is now going to be a dating site. and elon plays fast and loose with everything so the odds of there being a leak of some kind that shows its an Ashley Madison 99% of females are fake level of grift is going to be awesome.
  18. class of 2019 TE, who was just outside the top 200 overall that year. top 5 in that class for Texas was Bru McCoy, Tyler Owens, JWhitt, DeGabriel Floyd, Jake Smith. i think the last game he actually played in was in late 2020 due to injuries?
  19. did Klubnik or Weigman ever visit Texas? even once? UOV? because neither took an OV to Texas. if you think an offer = they were recruiting a player you need to go back to the football board. an offer doesn't mean shit anymore and hasn't for YEARS. also, you completely missed the point, which was that none of them could be considered an actual miss and would be impacting the depth chart today. do you think any of those players, who can't break to the top of a depth chart elsewhere, are going to be outplaying JT Sanders or Helm to crack the depth chart here? one of them is 3rd string at Miami (Skinner), one of them isn't even on the 4 person deep depth chart at OU (Lewellyen) and one of them is listed as a starter for a team that starts 2 TEs.
