  1. Took a few years but McCaul announced he’s not running in 2026.
  2. In what scenario could an older Jamaican man been conversing with Eric Trump? And where Eric would have done anything but ignore him?
  3. To each their own, but I’m tired of hearing about this story. Time to move on.
  4. I’m assuming now that the clippers org and Ballmer will stop all comments. For all they know, there could be more docs that are waiting to contradict them. They will eventually be released by the reporter(s) but it’s always better to release them to show someone is lying. i didn’t watch or read Ballmer’s initial comments but I’ve seen some analysis claim that he didn’t explicitly deny the charges. Instead it was some vague, “we know and follow the rules.”
  5. Zero chance that Ballmer wasn’t fully aware of what was happening if not orchestrating it himself. Not the first time that a player got extra perks but this isn’t using the owner’s yacht for a week. the only question is whether the NBA will have the balls to do anything and can they get Ballmer to accept it. Most likely Ballmer needs to find a fall guy like his buddy, to reduce his personal penalty. I don’t think Ballmer will care if there is a money penalty. finally the funniest part is that this could have mostly been ignored if Kawhi had just been willing to perform the most basic work for the $48m. A few appearances and social media posts. Possibly as a little as one day of total work over a couple of years.
  6. Hearing that Kirk’s team drove him to a hospital with lower trauma rating than 2 others in the wider city. Maybe it didn’t matter but this was a bad idea. EMS may have been able to stabilize him onsite and maybe get him to right ER in the fastest manner, including helicopter. like I wrote, maybe he was already dead but driving someone in a private car is rarely the best idea especially in a city.
  7. shooting someone for political beliefs is an assassination. This shooting wasn't related to a robbery or other basic criminal act, so unless it can be found to be personal, like Kirk was banging the shooter's wife, I don't see how anyone wouldn't think of this as an assassination. Just because Kirk wasn't an elected politician, it doesn't make him any less of a political figure. In many ways, he had more power than some back bencher representative.
  8. They're reporting that they found a rifle. Now would there be many discarded rifles in that area that are not the assassin's weapon? Probably not. But then again, it could be a smart idea for an assassin to plant other untraceable weapons in the area to create confusion to aide their getaway. Not that everyone thinks that far ahead.
  9. Kirk was a grifter who pushed a agenda to earn money and power. I'm surprised that after the Trump shooting last year, there isn't more of a standard procedure to keep people off rooftops. And then check the rooftops. It would seem like a drone could be sent up to look around. Its the type of risk management where you know the chance of a event occurring is very low, but the impact is sky high. You have to invest in addressing that risk. Putting a few extra dollars in his pocked may have cost Kirk his life. Poor choice.
  10. Not sure why people, who speak up against gun violence, are somehow required to be on the record that this assassination was wrong.
  11. Violence is never the answer but unwise to go with a provocation strategy in public settings. In a country with more guns than people.
  12. The last, of the classic cast, to go.
  13. Normally a President communicating, something like this, means it's true. Not sure I believe it yet.
  14. Was in Napa a few weekends ago. First time. Stayed in down town Napa, which was more than great but might look to stay in st Helena assuming good options at fair prices.
  15. The blue collar MAGA crowd are showing those libtards.
  16. I wouldn't want to the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics today. I mean the former head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  17. Wasn’t long ago that you could pull year long, Texas electricity promos for roughly 6 cents. Now it’s all north of 11 cents and at certain times of year closer to 15. You know what will be a real kick in the pants is when the courts force Trump to refund and discontinue the tariffs but the tariff-pricing will remain.
  18. SIAP, did any senator ask RFK about tanning beds and their danger for skin cancer? I know it’s minor stuff compared to COVID but his constant dark tan is akin to a HHS secretary smoking a cigarette during a hearing.
  19. The few clips I saw, the woman behind RFK was nodding along to everything he said. Cheryl better check RFK’s phone.
  20. Correct. Don’t confuse me with a smart person.
  21. Does anyone really believe that the now-fired head of the CDC answered in the affirmative when asked if she was trustworthy?
  22. When you hear someone talk and act like RFK, you give them the benefit of the doubt that their communication is only a physical impairment and their cognitive abilities are fully functioning. But he has a mental impairment as well.
  23. I have to laugh that the utility box at the corner of Durham and 14th is under repairs again. I swear a drunk driver runs into that thing at least once per year. I would hate to live in that tiny house behind it. HAHA, even the Google Map street view shows it being held together with a strap from a past accident.
  24. I don't think there was a best case scenario for that space, in my eyes, because I didn't want to see a high traffic store(s) go in there. A Target is probably better than a HEB or Costco. We don't need a HEB every 2-3 miles. They're barely open as it is.
  25. Admittedly the reduction of Shepherd and Durham from 4 to 3 lanes is not as bad as I feared. However as someone who frequently drives both full stretches of it, it's often down to 2 lanes due to new construction (public/private), repairs, business deliveries from the street, or the Happy Go Lucky place using Shepherd as their drive-thru lane. The 2 lanes is the killer now. There's also the problem of traffic lights frequently flashing red or even out, with no repair trucks in sight.
