  1. Yep. As of Friday, iShares’ etf owned close to 0.7% of all bitcoin. Wouldn’t shock me if they get close to 1% this week or next. At some point, these etfs will struggle to find sellers if they keep attracting so much money from investors/gamblers. It’s not impossible that some big whales will sell off some bitcoin to lock in profits but that would just pause the rise.
  2. You can’t sell at 55 when 100 is just around the corner. Ha. edit. I’ve been following and owning crypto since 2017. One thing that feels different about this recent run up is that the entire market is going up (or down) together. In the past, it seemed that when BTC went up, funds were drained from ETH or alt coins. And vice versa. As if the same money was just being moved around. Now today everything is running up, presumably with buyers pushing up many coins at once. perhaps the sellers of one coin are pushing that into other coins. Another difference with this run is the overall lack of the new hot coin that pumps only to drop down just as fast. I’m sure that exists today but not at the same level.
  3. Inflation can be a good thing for corporations.
  4. Don't' know anything about this primary but I went to Liz Case's webpage from a google search. She reminds you 4 times in 8 paragraphs that she's descended from William Travis. Weird flex.
  5. Why I want to make fun of this guy, I was taught to sympathize with people below a certain intellectual level. Screw it, that guy is a moron and I feel sorry for the people in his life.
  6. At least we can remove SC from the election narrative now. How they vote in the general is already decided.
  7. Not political but just factual that America is very un-United with the 50 states having 50 different approaches and methods to deal with drug problems. I’m sure that while Portugal has challenges that we don’t face, they also only have a 10m population. I imagine that everything feels somewhat local and people are usually more apt to help neighbors, friends and family.
  8. Trump is effectively the incumbent and is losing 40% of the GOP vote. The GOP should be scared at the lack of support that he’s receiving from their base. Will many of those 40% eventually vote for Trump in the general? Of course but not all.
  9. Unfortunately Biden has to walk a tight rope when taking a victory lap about the economy since many are not participating the great economy.
  10. Can this be opened up to Go Fund Me? If Trump can raise over $1m to help him with his legal judgements, surely Dems can pony up $50m for Clarence. Of course with Manchin and Sinema in the Senate, who knows if Biden could even get someone confirmed to the Supreme Court this year.
  11. It’s always reasons that can be measured.
  12. On the topic of the US being less secure today, a positive side effect of the tragic war in Ukraine is that the US military is increasing their knowledge of modern warfare by leaps and bounds. Have others? Of course but I guarantee no one has learned more than the US military.
  13. Houston Democrats groups in Houston being harassed by anti-semites because they have many Jewish members. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/opinion/outlook/article/antisemitism-houston-meyerland-democrats-fletcher-18680543.php from one of the people thrown out:
  14. It's telling that even the others on that panel were oddly quiet when this guy was talking. You don't want to be an active participant in the conversation when a guy decides to go 100% racist.
  15. If there is one person that has their finger on the pulse of African-Americans, it's definitely [not] that guy.
  16. If inflation isn't dropping then it's the correct move for the Fed to do nothing. No reason for them to pour gas on a fire. If the Fed announced that rate drops would be further delayed, I'm sure the market would react negatively but I also believe that is already partially baked into the market now. We're effectively at all time highs for several indexes and investors know the Fed may not lower rates.
  17. I don't understand how anyone, especially a woman could vote for the GOP. The GOP is getting closer to turning back the rights of women. Birth control, no fault divorces, even potentially the right for women to vote is or will be on the table. The GOP officials have learned that some of their base often vote against their personal beliefs.
  18. Guarantee that the GQP is celebrating that the 2 dozen republicans are resigning. They will backfill them with even Trumpier representatives. Since most districts are not in play, I assume most if not all, will win.
  19. Trump vs. Zombie George Washington? Honesty, I would want to hear a few of Washington's ideas before I voted for him. In this scenario, can GW communicate with words?
  20. Agree that it takes time to fully judge a president but you're not going to get much media attention if a survey stops at LBJ.
  21. trends come and go. I believe Stanley is already on the way out. Once too many people are into the trend, it's not cool anymore.
  22. I presumed NVDA numbers would be good but not good enough. Financial Media would spin as bad sign for 2024 and today would see a huge opening drop. glad I didn’t act on my stupid opinion. Today is shaping up to be one of those days that you didn’t want to be out of the market.
  23. Regardless we need a baseline power amount that the ERCOT/PUC can deliver 99.99% of the time. If not more. I don't care if its a windless night or a cold front.
  24. I would bet that the people around Biden don't want to lose their power by encouraging another candidate. And they talk themselves into thinking that its best for the country if Biden, and therefore themselves, remain in power. The obvious choice would have been for the WH to put Harris out there more. Now maybe she proved to be ineffective in that role or she was set up to fail. Who knows. If you leave it up to the Dem party, think about their recent picks leading up to Biden: Gore, Kerry, Obama and Hillary Clinton. 1 out of 4 was a quality campaigner and candidate. The Dem party didn't really want Biden in 2020 but the Dem voters spoke in that he was the best option to beat Trump.
