  1. It's impossible to push back on you hyperbolic assertions without you going nuts. He wasn't "scared to death to get hit", as evidence by him getting clobbered multiple times while completing a pass. He wasn't "inaccurate", not by a long shot. He had more than "zero" pocket presence. You are what you accuse others of. I honestly don't think there is some sort of Major/Chris cult going on. Quinn was good. People saw him for what he was. Well, you don't. End of story.
  2. LMAO you are high. I noticed you ignored my other points.
  3. My main point is that I disagree with your assessment of Ewers. For one thing, I don't think Simms was "much better" nor do I think he got treated "1000X worse". I think they were both good to very good college QBs who played a position for which Texas fans are notorious for criticizing a great deal. Among other things, I disagree with these assertions you put on Ewers: * he had zero pocket presence * he was scared to death to get hit * he was inaccurate So if you want to defend those statements, be my guest, but this has been going on for years and I seriously doubt you have evidence to prove any of them true in the aggregate.
  4. I don't need the ashes. A pawprint is an awesome idea, she has the best paws in the world.
  5. Well you see, someone on the internet disagreed with Derka and he went nonlinear. Lather, rinse, repeat.
  6. Had "the talk" with a mobile vet today. It may be time for Gumbo, our 13.5 year old catahoula mix. She's such a sweet dog but her quality of life has gone way downhill. I want to do the deed at home with my wife and kids in attendance. Anybody know the options for dealing with the body? The vet will cremate but I'm not a very sentimental guy. I feel bad for Gumbo but I also feel like I took responsiblity for her and I owe her some dignity.
  7. I'm kinda the opposite of you guys . . . I've spent a ton of time in the studio recording really great songwriters who may or may not sing all that well, but it all sunk in and that's pretty much the only stuff I want to write. It might be country, classic rock, Americana or alt rock, whatever happens to pop out, but I could not be less interested in demonstrating any kind of chops, I just want to record a reasonably tight band with hooks. Not that y'all don't like hooks, but I could never do some of what y'all do. It's just not in me. Stick a French horn in my hand, OK, I'll go nuts, but those days are LONG gone.
  8. Uh, their fries kick ass?
  9. I'd put Knopfler in that camp. He's super proficient but he has a way of connecting with big audiences who aren't guitar geeks. I suspect it's (a) superior songwriting and (b) very pedestrian singing.
  10. I just wrangled the kit I built my daughter back from her, since she's playing Gretsch Renowns these days. Small (20" kick) Keller maple shells, "hand-stained" matte black (meaning I did a shitty job). She has an Istanbul cymbal endorsement so I might get some of her hand me downs, but I need recs for hardware (pedals, stands, throne). Nothing road-worthy needed, I'm thinking PDP or the like?
  11. Good old Mensa Tom. I'd bet half of surly is smarter than that guy. Here are Mensa's requirements for membership via the SAT:
  12. It took me approximately 5 seconds to look up how much farmland exists in the United States: 900 million acres (2017 ag census). This dingbat is whining about 300,000 acres, or 0.033% of that land. I eagerly await next week's manufactured controversy.
  13. Hopefully we can get Brooks plenty of snaps in the 3 games after tOSU.
  14. Yeah, even with his relative struggles against Oklahoma, Mack was 7-9 in those games.
  15. Hey, thanks for the rec. I've never heard of it, but will definitely check it out.
  16. They don't get a bad back, because if they get a bad back, they die.
  17. I was thinking "Tragic Kingdom" era
  18. The point is that they were roughly our equal last year, are returning more starters, one of which is their QB. It's stupid to completely discount that. But sure, bring your "math and logic" LMAO.
  19. Did you miss the part where we struggled against Vandy? This is the absolute worst part of preseason in college football, the blinders so many fans are born with. Good luck with that.
  20. So Penn State beat a borderline top 25 Minnesota team by 1 and we beat a bordeline top 50 Vandy team by 3 but "meh"? I mean, let's be a little consistent here. I didn't say PSU should be ranked ahead of us, but there is some argument there.
  21. Yeah, Caleb Downs is pretty fucking good. Sark would take him in a heartbeat.
  22. Penn State has a lot of returning talent (14 starters), but I'm not sold on Drew Allar. He looked like hammered dogshit against Notre Dame.
  23. For fuck's sake, even women were laughing. Maybe don't encourage the narcissistic pervert?
  24. I'd still like to see an explanation for why the "missing" number dropped over 90% but the death toll didn't rise. Oh well, nevertheless.
  25. That Gwen Stefani track bugs the hell out of me. I'm not saying she was ever Aretha or Janis, but she was a damn fine singer & performer in the early No Doubt days. Now I can't recognize her or her music, it's as if everything has been run through the polishing machine a half dozen times. Yuck.
