  1. Well yeah, because I pulled down the class average and moved the curve.
  2. Yeah, maybe they'll just take it out of the curriculum.
  3. The hardest class I took at UT was Nonlinear Acoustics. I'm trying to figure out how Greg and the boys will inject MAGA-friendly topics into that course, but I'm drawing a blank. I'm sure they'll figure something out.
  4. I do believe we have unintentionally hit our temporal brick wall.
  5. I think Ruffalo has been fantastic and I have no problem with a second season featuring him and nobody else from this cast on a new case. Particularly Martha Plimpton.
  6. How do you not pick a color named "Downy Chick"?
  7. I'll send you an invitation to my Ted Talk:
  8. Miller has a bit of a Sark vibe, which gruntles me.
  9. I don't doubt Trump is too stupid to understand the far-reaching implications of doubling the price of NdFeB and SmCo magnets, but he's about to find out. Won't make a difference, but the implications on US industry will be massive, including my company.
  10. I bought football season tickets for a dozen years thru 2005 (and several years before that on the student/employee plan), but never contributed to the Foundation, because UT is rich as shit and my donations went to my undergrad school. Magically my season ticket application for 2006 "got lost in the mail", so oh well, guess who bought a big-screen TV and never looked back? Fuck UT.
  11. Full disclosure: I've never eaten at a Luby's. My wife, who was born and raised here (Austin HS Maroons holla) got dragged there by her dad so much that she never even wanted to go, and I wasn't about to argue. Our semi-equivalent when I was a boy was a Sirloin Stockade -- obviously tilted more towards "steak" -- and I'm still having flashbacks.
  12. Well that was mean.
  13. That video makes me simultaneously very happy and very sad.
  14. How did I not know his band is now a 4-piece? I thought he toured as a trio. Who's the other guitar player?
  15. Well, I grew up not very far from KC and chili wasn't much of a thing in that part of the country, but yeah, it usually had beans in it. No doubt their 'q is always sauced, and it's a sweet sauce to boot. I just think the West African & Caribbean influences on Louisiana food are a little more legit, with the Creole city folk going with tomatoes and the boondock Cajun folk going without. Most likely I suspect that it was hard to get tomatoes out in the swamps, but that's conjecture.
  16. So it's the marinara? I'm pretty sure someone of Creole heritage would argue your point about tomatoes in gumbo, too.
  17. I still don't understand how the OL that looked like utter dogshit against Florida held up much better against OU's (better) front 7.
  18. I lived in Chicago for a minute but never had an Italian beef therre -- where does that combo run afoul of the real deal?
  19. I'm going to my first F1. It is going to pour buckets on SE Austin.
  20. You haven't killed it on one objective measure yet. In years. Your posts are intentionally ephemeral nonsense.
  21. I honestly thank you from the bottom of my heart for the biggest laugh I've had in several years. Holy shit.
  22. Well if we're going there, let's add X?
  23. This thread is too long for me to remember if I've posted this track. It's me and my dad band, but with my daughter on vocals and (believe it or not) Daryl Hall's drummer Brian Dunne on drums and percussion. Mixed in my spare bedroom, which is suboptimal in many ways, myself being not the least of the reasons. I *hate* mixing. Feels like a never-cracked puzzle to me. Anyway:
