  1. Explain this in detail. Just looking at the BTC-USD chart, the last time it was worth 4% of the current value was winter 2018 (at best). I'm not sure that's how you're calculating "worth", though. If so, did you hold through massive drops between spring and summer 2021 along with fall 2021 and fall 2022? If so, what kind of "savings" has that volatility? 50%-75% drops and you just sit and hold? Is there some other measure of Bitcoin "worth" besides that metric?
  2. Ah, I didn't realize it wouldn't flame up and didn't want to risk it. I'll try a test run. Do you shape your dough ball on the parchment paper to start? I started out trying that but couldn't get it to stay still.
  3. NYT and WaPo are not (and never have been) "liberal". Don't promulgate a stupid far-right-wing talking point. They were always right of center, and only now that the political center has shifted well towards the old right are they "centrist".
  4. Total newbie here: I tried to make a Neopolitan pie at home tonight. The dough was very difficult for me to handle (71% hydration). I clearly need to back off on the water. BUT, the flavor and texture were great. As good as most pizza shops. The cook was about 9 minutes at 475 F. The pizza itself was an amorphous disaster. I couldn't get it from the counter to the floured peel w/o some tears, and I couldn't get it off the peel onto a pre-heated pizza stone in the oven at all. I had to scrape it off with a spatula. It went from round to a lumpy fucked up "rectangle". I have some corn meal, maybe that will make the transfer easier, but it doesn't change the fact that getting it ONTO the peel is super tricky. I would use parchment paper, but I don't want to cook paper at 475 F. (I've read Fahrenheit 451.) I don't want to reduce the oven temperature, either. Other than reducing the hydration, and using corn meal and/or parchment paper, any tips? Does this just get easier over time? Honestly, the flavor and texture were right up there, so I'm excited about getting better, but crimony what an aesthetic disaster.
  5. That Tele looks exactly like my G&L semi-hollow.
  6. Well, the historical BTC plunges of ~ 75% might indicate a certain amount of volatility that one might want to factor in.
  7. Heh, I saw him under similar circumstances at Ravinia outside of Chicago. One of our Cavaliers brass techs went to Eastman with him, and she got us backstage to meet him after the show. He was actually a very chill guy.
  8. This site claims the historical likelihood of a 7 seed advancing to a given round (1985-2023) are as follows: R32: 61.2% R16: 19.1% R8: 6.6% R4: 2.0% R2: 1.3% BracketOdds
  9. Expecting or demanding the Sweet 16 as a 7 seed or lower is nuts. You're basically asking a team "ranked" from 25-28 to beat a team "ranked" from 5-8. That's just not a terribly common thing. Does it happen? Sure, but it's clearly an upset.
  10. Yes, I know how old both my parents were when they died, but I have to use their birth years (which I know) and their ages at death to back out what year they died. Different people recall dates differently.
  11. Yeah, that's a terrible characterization of Joe Biden's statements. Nothing suggests he couldn't remember Beau's death within "several years", or even one year. He didn't even answer (although he got the day and month correct).
  12. That took me almost an hour to get the reference. I need some sleep.
  13. An obvious sign of old age memory loss, and perhaps even dementia.
  14. First concert I ever saw. I was probably 4 or 5 years old. It was at an outdoor bluegrass festival in Eminence, MO. Even at my young age it was clear he was a badass.
  15. A haircut like that should be admissible evidence that the dude is a pedophile.
  16. Ha. I got robbed of my newly-purchased concert t-shirt after a show in St. Louis. I can't remember if it was Boston or Van Halen. Two dudes came up, flashed a knife, and I (wisely) handed it over. Those rat fucks.
  17. I looked up his 3-pt stats. LOL doesn't really describe it: Freshman: 0-0 Sophomore: 0-8
  18. Does the NBA (or any other pro league) really value an admittedly hyperathletic 6' 8" guy whose offense is pretty much limited to dunks, layups and the occasional short jumper? I like the guy but it seems like he really needs to develop at least a midrange jump shot. Maybe Disu can coach him up in that regard.
  19. It seemed random to me. I saw Pink Floyd (minus Roger Waters, and nobody missed him) -- the sound was fantastic.
  20. Cheesy, but some of that Raspberries stuff was a precursor to great bands like Cheap Trick and the 'mats. RIP Mr. Carmen.
  21. You seem to have a serious problem sussing out shades of gray. For instance, I posted about RT's record at Fresno State, in which he not only won more than he lost, but he won considerably more than the previous coach. These are facts. He also went out on a high note -- 66-34 (0.667) in his last three years. That's the sign of a coach who might know what he's doing. But you take the simple assertion of provable fact as either a personal insult or at the very least some sort of gold-medal blue-ribbon claim that Rodney Terry is the Greatest Coach Ever. No. It's all data. That's it. It should be considered, but you try to hand-wave it away with your emotional middle school girl bullshit. Fuck that.
  22. Christ on a cracker, I'll trash Beard all I want because he fucked up the golden ticket, and I'll criticize Barnes all I want because he couldn't be bothered not to run his great teams into the ground mid-conference. These aren't reasons to praise RT. I'm not ignoring facts, and neither is anybody else (besides you). Chris Beard is quite likely the best coach Texas could have ever hoped for. Rick Barnes wasn't too far behind. Rodney Terry is likely down closer to Tom Penders and Shaka Smart, but above Bob Weltlich. Why do you think people aren't aware of this?
