    Those new Raptors seem solid.
  2. Hell, Haas is more like Kansas.
  3. Spain is definitely boring because it’s not a good track for overtaking, but it’s a good circuit to test the strength of your race car, because it has a good mix of corner types.
  4. Yeah, AirPod Pro are legit. Use them for work so much.
  5. I could have sworn there was but I cannot find one. DHL does have the fastest ones for different races but I couldn’t find all of the stops anywhere. I did find that Bottas’ second stop in Bahrain was the slow one where they had an issue with the RF tire. Outside of this, time spent in the pit lane was roughly the same for both on the other stops. In Imola, Bottas only did one stop before the crash, but he spent 30s in the pit lane, compared to 32s for Hamilton (I don’t have the time spent stationary). Hamilton’s second stop was obviously much longer because he had just gone off and broke the wing. In Portimao, weirdly enough, Bottas’ pit delta time was actually the same as Hamilton, and only two tenths slower than Max. Obviously, the team should’ve given him a better stop, but that was much closer than I thought.
  6. Gotdam! I am on a 5DIV, but I still love the thing. Someday I may get an R5, or maybe wait for the Mark II. That’s a hell of a lens though! Good shit.
  7. How much lens? I felt woefully inadequate with my 70-200 and 1.4x TC (on a full frame). Obviously that’s not good enough for wildlife in general but damn it felt very small there.

    Vinyl

If you wanna know how crazy the high end vinyl market has gotten, this audiophile grade pressing is “limited” to 25,000 copies. This isn’t even the 45RPM version that will be out later! https://store.acousticsounds.com/index.cfm?get=detail&Title_ID=148512
  9. Bottas actually had the fastest Mercedes stops in both Bahrain and Imola. Both 2.24s, good for 9th and 10th fastest so far. It’s something they still definitely need to work on, though, and it benefits both cars (pit crews are the same).
  10. He did, but…..track limits.
  11. Lewis’ Q2 time was nearly 4 tenths quicker than pole. Apparently last year Q2 was also quicker. I think only Bottas went faster in Q3 than Q2.
  12. Merc has been faster on mediums, so they will try those. This is going to be interesting.
  13. All the young drivers are pretty great, really (except Mazepin). Jury is still out on Mick, but he’s doing okay so far. The grid is super talented right now nearly from top to bottom (only a few exceptions). We will see some more quick guys in the coming years as well (I rate Piastri really high in F2). I actually think Stroll has really shown he belongs here as well. Mazepin, to me, is kinda who we all thought Stroll would be.
  14. Looks like teams were trying double warmup laps for the soft tires. We will probably see that in Q.
  15. Firstly, there are 5 compounds to choose from. They call them C1 to C5, hardest to softest. Pirelli decides which 3 to bring to a race weekend depending on the circuit characteristics (abrasive or smooth) and the location temperature/climate. Typically they bring 3 consecutive compounds in order (like this week they have C1, 2, and 3), but sometimes they skip one and may do something like C1, C2, and C4. Regardless, these are always marked with corresponding colors, red is softest tire for the weekend, yellow is medium, white is hardest. They also being intermediate and full wet tires (compounds of these are always the same and do not change) just in case. Teams get 13 sets of tires for a weekend. Pirelli will specify two sets that must be saved for the race (typically one set each of the two harder compounds), and one set of the softest compound is saved for qualifying. For the other 10, the teams used to be able to choose what they wanted, but last year and this year Pirelli has made that decision for easier logistics during pandemic times. So, for example, each car may have something like 8 soft, 3 medium, and 2 hard sets for practice, qualifying, and race. Teams then give back two (used) sets to Pirelli after FP1, 2 after FP2, and 2 after FP3. Pirelli will study these used tires to see how they wore to help gather data for the future. That leaves 7 sets left for Q and the race (including the three mandatory sets as described above). So, taking the two mandatory race sets away, teams will typically want to save another new set of tires for the race as well, leaving 4 sets for Q. For the top teams, that usually means using 1 in Q1, 1 in Q2, and 2 in Q3. However, if you make it to Q3, you actually get one more set of soft tires to use (a 14th set). Sometimes teams will make a run on used tires in some of the Q sessions as well, or, if they didn’t get a clean run in, may have to use another one of their new soft sets which means they may no longer have that extra new set for the race (but can still use used tires for it). So in the end, the teams usually end up with 3 new sets (and 4 used sets) for the race, but they will always have 2 at minimum. For cars that made it to Q3, they are required to start on the tires that their Q2 time was set with. This is why you see some teams try to use a harder medium compound to make it into Q3 with, since starting the race on a harder tire opens up more strategy options. Everyone else behind the top 10 on the grid can choose whichever tire of the sets they have left to start the race on. Sorry that was long, but I think I got most of it. There’s some other rules that come in to play when it’s wet, like being able to trade some of your dry sets for intermediate or wet sets, but I don’t remember them exactly.
  16. This is correct. And Roku isn’t really innocent here. YTTV wants to be able to have voice search that works just in their app only (instead of all of Roku), and they want a new codec to be used that works better, but it would require Roku to use more expensive chipsets to decode it. Both are at fault, but it’s all about dumb shit.
  17. A) I don’t think RB would let AT go. B) I’m not sure that Andretti wants to spend that much (do they even have that much to spend?). Buying a team costs quite a bit to start with, and even at a $145m cap budget, that’s the cost of like 10-15 full season Indycars.
  18. Hey, I know that spot. Did you go to the hot springs? Good stuff.
  19. The SQ is a farce. It will remove tire parity, as well as essentially put the cars in their natural order for the main event, even if they qualify further down the grid originally.
  20. Watching this stream right now. https://mickfleetwoodandfriends.com/#info
  21. Merc doing one of their tests for the 18” wheels next year. I don’t mind them, but I wish they were not going to have the goofy aero covers.
