  1. Nope, you pretty much got it. The stewards’ ruling said as much (though it was still a racing incident of course).
  2. Not sure why they didn’t put a new set on at the first stop. Conditions were fine for slicks but seems like everyone else used a new set. Then when he came in for the stop after going off, he got a new set of mediums and a new nose. On the restart I believe he was on those same mediums to the end.
  3. Lol, Davide Valsecchi. He is very.....passionate. Right before he went on, you could hear Brundle go “I hope he has his rev limiter on”....lol. He’s a former driver. Actually won GP2 back in the day. I believe he calls the races for Sky Italy.
  4. Also, sounded like Max broke a diff or axle when going over the curbs earlier.
  5. Yep. Mazespin also spun, and later crashed, too.
  6. China (April 11) was canceled, so Imola (April 18) was added and split the difference between China’s date and the already canceled Vietnam race slot (April 25), then the Vietnam slot was then given to Portimão (May 2nd), one week later than the original date. There are like 3 back-to-back to-backs later in the year though. The second half of the schedule after the summer break is loaded. I bet we still lose a few races, however. Canada probably isn’t likely to happen.
  7. Well this is an old thread resurrection! Can’t remember if I posted this one.
  8. They made him seem pretty intimidating to work for in DTS. I don’t know how much of that is real, but yeah.
  9. Bracketing! One may be good enough, or you can make a composite image with them. LR and PS have great native tools for this.
  10. Hamilton was also faster in S3.
  11. Just saying, it’s not as if F1 is the only one. It was only at one corner this weekend, too, which is what F1 typically does, track depending (maybe 2 or 3 in some cases). It just doesn’t really bother me that much. Edit: I think a lot of the consternation about this recently is because Michael Masi is a shit race director. Yes, this stuff happened sometimes when Charlie was the race director, but I think that Masi just doesn’t do a good job at conveying and clarifying what he actually means. They seem to miss a lot of little details in the race notes and in the drivers’ meetings, then *issue occurs*, and people are up in arms. Rinse and repeat.
  12. Not really. There is definitely a precedent. Look at this from 2008. Hamilton got a 25 second penalty (would have been a drive thru but the race was over, so that’s why the time is odd) for the incident at 1:50, because it was determined that he didn’t give the position back up for long enough. Kimi later crashed out, and Hamilton finished 3rd retroactively. This even led to the FIA stating that you had to wait one corner after giving a position back before making another overtake attempt. This penalty was pretty dang harsh. It’s funny seeing these Niki Lauda comments, cause you could repeat them after any race and they’d still be true: “Former world champion Niki Lauda said that he did "not understand this completely wrong decision", adding "It's unbelievable how the best driver in yesterday's race makes no mistakes and only gets six points". He called for the formation of permanent race stewards, instead of the temporary steward system currently in place. He called it "the worst judgement in the history of F1", saying, "It's absolutely unacceptable when three [stewards] influence the championship like this". Three-time world champion Jackie Stewart said that "F1 attracts the largest capital investment in sport, but it's being overseen by people who are not doing it full-time and we get inconsistent decisions".
  13. If you guys do have F1TV, the F2 races are worth watching. The cars are spec, though they can tune some things, and some teams are better than others. Some drivers to watch this year: Oscar Piastri - Prema - Part of Alpine driver academy, won F3 last year. Is an Aussie, and Mark Webber is his manager. He’s really good. Guanyu Zhou - UNI Virtuosi - Chinese, part of the Alpine driver academy. 3rd year in F2. Liam Lawson - Hitech - New Zealander. Part of Red Bull academy. First year in F2. Jüri Vips - Hitech- Estonian. Part of Red Bull academy. First full year in F2. Robert Shwartzman - Prema- Russian. 2019 F3 champ. Part of Ferrari driver academy. Second year in F2. Had a great first half of the F2 season last year before fading in the second half, allowing Mick Schumacher to claim the title. Marcus Armstrong - DAMS - New Zealander. Part of Ferrari driver academy. Second year in F2. Christian Lundgaard - ART - Danish. Second year in F2. Part of Alpine driver academy. Théo Pourchaire - ART - French. Finished second in F3 last year to Piastri.
  14. Also, for the hassle of having to sell a lens for probably not what it might be worth, I’d get a nicer one from KEH or Japan.
  15. As far as the Japanese sellers go, they do kind of a goofy grading system. It’s most important on those to really closely analyze the photos and the written description and kinda ignore the “EXC+++++” in the title. As long as all functions are described as working and you don’t see any fungus and stuff on the lenses in photos, you’ll be okay. And if for some reason it’s not, the Japanese sellers are great at doing returns or giving you a discount on it. Also, they’re typically shipping via DHL or FedEx right now and you’ll get anything shipped that way in like 3-7 days which is nice. My 65mm RB lens I purchased from Japan and it was fine, aside from a little wear. I would also monitor KEH. There are not any there now but they apparently come up pretty often. Their “bargain” grade stuff is a great buy (my Canon F-1 and New F-1 were both bargain grade and are awesome). Example of a “bargain” grade 67: https://imgur.com/a/bEXKGBz The Reddit sub r/photomarket is solid too. You may need some previous posting to make transactions there, however. I purchased my RB67 from a guy there, and have sold a few cameras myself as well.
  16. Race control told Mercedes to stop about midrace (probably RB and others too), and that they would get a black/white then a penalty if they continued to do it.
  17. Merc is going to be more on a knife edge in regards to setup. They can probably get it handled somewhat, but it will be interesting to see. That is a relatively weak Merc track too, so stuff could be track dependent. Their development will affect how they develop for 2022 as well. It’s possible that this battle goes to the end of the year, and someone else may be fastest to start 2022! Merc are having engine de-rating issues at the end of straights too, but that is a deployment thing that should be able to be optimized with software changes.
  18. Protest what? They did the same thing.
  19. GET IN THERE LEWIS!!! Wow, I did not expect that.
