  1. Also, that dude in the Fort Worth pileup got smashed at speed by a semi in his FJ, rammed into a 2500, flipped, and landed in the opposite lane, and walked away from the accident. Incredible. Just sayin.
  2. I own and daily an FJ. They have quirks but they are tanks. 2010+ are upgraded in a few areas as well. They aren’t really tow vehicles though (short wheelbase doesn’t help). That said, do it!
  3. I hear ya. I can go pretty often, but I’m always with non-photographer family or friends, and it cramps my style. At some point, I’m just gonna have to take more solo trips.
  4. Great stuff. I need to do the same thing. I also have that show saved, need to watch it.

Nah, it is definitely a real thing. Microline and shibata styli will extract even more detail, though they can tend to be more bright sounding.
  6. Yeah, Defender is bad news bears.

Btw, Noble Records has a pretty good YouTube channel if you wanna learn about some cool stuff, learn about rare records, and just waste some time in general. He owns a record store near Charlotte.

Oh lawd. This can be a fun game but it depends, haha. A lot of mine are newer collectible stuff which I bought all at retail. So, a few MMJ SRX jazz releases, and some MoFi One Steps. Here is the top 10 though. A Love Supreme - Coltrane - 1965 original mono issue. Impulse! mono masterings from this era are just stereo folddowns, but this is a rare one with the true first pressing labels with A-77 on them. Speak No Evil - Wayne Shorter - MMJ SRX copy from 2020. Toadies - Rubberneck - OG on Interscope from 1996 Bill Evans Trio - Waltz For Debby - stereo copy from ‘63. A little rough but playable. Pink Floyd - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn - OG US release. Bought for $2 at Josey Records in Dallas. It’s a little rough but I’m pretty surprised that they even priced it like that so low. See photo for proof. Townes Van Zandt - Townes Van Zandt - OG on Poppy. The record I have actually spent the most money on. Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue - MMJ SRX copy from 2020. I have had a few OGs of this but they were really beat. I still would like to get a nice original since they aren’t all that hard to find. SRV & Double Trouble - Couldn’t Stand The Weather - MoFi OneStep from this year. Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um - MoFi OneStep from 2020. Miles Davis All Stars - Walkin’ - OG compilation from 1957. Not sure why this is so high to be honest. It’s a compilation of tracks from the early 50s.

  10. $1285 for 5 285/75/16 KO2s in April. 16s are still pretty cheap, relatively speaking.
  11. Sounds like the bulk of the “delay” came down to setting up the new joint foundation. From press release: “A significant part of the new agreement builds upon the joint commitment to greater diversity and inclusion in motorsport that was made last year by Lewis and Mercedes. This will take the form of a joint charitable foundation, which will have the mission of supporting greater diversity and inclusion in all its forms in motorsport.” Toto: “Together, we have decided to extend the sporting relationship for another season and to begin a longer-term project to take the next step in our shared commitment to greater diversity within our sport.” Later on in the PR: “As a company, Mercedes-Benz shares this sense of responsibility and is proud to commit to a new, joint foundation to improve diversity in motorsport. Opening the sport to under-represented groups will be important for its development in the future and we’re determined to make a positive impact.”

Speaking of MoFi, I should have bought MoFi copies of Doolittle and Miles’ In A Silent Way a few years ago before they skyrocketed in price. Those were like $40 new, and are $150-200 at least now.

Do you clean your records at all? New records these days still need a brush if not a quick wet clean, they are usually dirty af out of the package. It sucks, but it is what it is.

I bought a Sidewinder and compare it to my original stereo copy and it compared very favorably. I wanna buy a Speak No Evil when it’s back in stock. I may throw my MMJ SRX copy on Discogs.

A first press Black Saint And The Sinner Lady, that still hasn’t updated to say that USPS is even in possession, but the dude dropped it off Monday. So, yay!
  16. Well, Tommy Flanagan ain’t no McCoy Tyner!
  17. Yeah, I think next time I’m headed west I’m gonna rent something large and find me some California Condors.
  18. Yeah, I need much more lens if I wanna do it seriously. I need to rent a super tele some time.
  19. Man, those are incredible. I am jelly. I gotta go find them cool birds.
  20. Yeah, I just finally did Lost Mine in December for the first time, and it was like my 8th visit overall. If the parking lot was full I’d always just move on. Even this last time, I got the last spot at the time.
  21. ALS is my favorite, so here are 5 more Blue Train Coltrane (Prestige 7105) Lush Life Sun Ship (same quartet as ALS, Elvin Jones has some awesome playing here) Giant Steps
