  1. On Urban: he has plenty of money and doesn’t need Texas to get more if he wants it. He is not wallet-whippable. he has a tarnished but solid legacy as a winner. Everywhere he has been. At UT, given its reputation for making total mincemeat of seemingly qualified coaches, he must know there is a chance he tarnishes the winning part of his legacy. he knows he will not get away with what he did at OSU and UF at Texas. He may believe that is necessary to winning. Texas needs a total program rebuild and a cultural rebuild that goes far beyond the program and its fans. He has never taken that in before. Why would he feel he knows how to do it? so why is he coming again?
  2. Is there any possible way to stream this shit show in Houston
  3. Do you think we could satisfy the entire global energy demand from the heat generated by Satan rubbing his hands together in anticipation of what he has in store for this world scale asshole?
  4. Despite being gratuitous with CGI Midway is actually pretty accurate on a high level. In fact the script had a disclaimer that said “everything in here that sounds like Hollywood bullshit actually happened”
  5. Agreed this should be stupider than shit but it is somehow pretty good
  6. Captures the true spirit of this thread perfectly
  7. This is on the right track. I moved from basically a pure technical commercial litigation practice to run a sales organization. I have been pretty successful mainly because my predecessor was total dog shit but also because I am selling highly customized solutions. I would not have been nearly as successful selling widgets or something highly relationship based. Get into something where customers seek you out for your unique solution (doesn’t have to be the ONLY solution) and then you can build relationships and trust through your expertise and experience.
  8. Sir you are underselling it quite a bit with “not terrible.”
  9. Take the computer out of your kitchen and block the WiFi and cell signals in there.
  10. This. And the idea that foreign production that is also getting destroyed will bounce back faster than US shale is downright laughable.
  11. I would say most of the more complex USGC refineries have been modified now to accommodate a lot more light sweet. But to answer the original question, two things dictate the product slate: the crude AND the refinery design. More precisely, the product slate is dictated by the specific units in the refinery. The spread between cheap sour shit and light sweet had narrowed significantly due to the Vz meltdown.
  12. I really find Waterloo to be disgusting.
  13. Is it that fucking hard to build a respirator. Seems like a pneumatic pump some control valves and very simple PLC. Someone school me on this. Sure it would not be perfect but better than nothing.
  14. I think Nancy made a calculated decision that her case was likely to get better with time and the pressure would be increased to have a substantive trial with witnesses and not the whitewashing equally politically astute Kentucky turtle had planned and got damn was she ever right. She is a throat slitting stone cold bitch and I respect it.
  15. A classic fiasco of unaccountable religious fanatics in wartime command versus narcissistic personality disorder masquerading as military judgment. Hopefully too jointly incompetent to start an actual war.
  16. Just time to sail away. Was adamant not health related.
  17. Made me laugh thinking of the all time greatest Vic quote “she needs to set those fat tits free”
  18. I am pretty active in the renewables space and I think this nails it. If this market had liquidity and assured continuance of subsidies, RINs, tax credits, etc it would take off like gangbusters. It is already running pretty hot but liquidity is the holdup. The technology will get cheaper and pretty soon it will be very common in the first world to have diesel made from cooking grease and soybean oil and all sorts of weird shit.
  19. I went to the game yesterday and observed that the average attendee gave two shits about the quality of the football and will continue happily shoving money into Jerry’s gaping maw that leads directly down into the 7th circle of hell. It was depressing.
  20. You can go to the Houston actual passport office and get one in whatever short amount of time is justified based on an in hand itinerary. Not that difficult. But set aside a whole day because you will need to wait for awhile in the office and come back to pick it up. When I did this, there were people getting passports for travel that night. It was less than $500.
  21. It’s probably not for everyone and definitely not kids but I enjoyed it immensely.
