  1. What’s he saying, that the officer would’ve avoided hitting him if he was a white guy, high on PCP, crossing the interstate at night?
  2. Gotcha. They may have tried to cover something up, although I’m not sure what exactly that would be. Removing the wallet would’ve been priority #1 for me. My best guess is, in a city where most public services are not done correctly, this public service was not done correctly.
  3. I haven’t seen that, and anything is possible, but I’d lean more toward incompetence than conspiracy. JPD can’t even answer 911 calls on a normal basis, it’s no surprise they didn’t find the time to identify and notify the family in this case.
  4. NBC mentioned the meth and PCP https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna121697
  5. I can almost guarantee every person involved in this was black. JPD is almost entirely black. Lumumba overseas a city that is the murder capital of the US, can't provide drinking water or trash pickup. He doesn't care. The victim was high on PCP and walking across the interstate at night and everyone's first reaction is that the cop must be drunk?
  6. I'm not anti vaccine. I took the vaccine by choice. I think the military mandate was a poor decision and should not have been an order in the first place. But for the most part, it has been rectified. Surely there have been military orders that you have disagreed with?
  7. Eat a dick, but we dropped the requirement and we'd love to have you back and restore your rank.
  8. Needed. Still required for a reason.
  9. Bullshit mandate. Reinstate them and give them back pay.
  10. Totally different and not done with the intention of blocking traffic to get attention. In most cases, traffic was allowed to go by (as you can see in the photo you posted).
  11. Death is not an appropriate punishment, but fuck anyone who intentionally blocks roads.
  12. First, you're wrong. At an absolute minimum, many believed it was just a sign of southern heritage. Tom Petty wasn't pushing for slavery. The Dukes of Hazard wasn't pushing for slavery. But, like you should, people wised up to how it was viewed by most of the world. Tom Petty - "It was downright stupid." https://www.rollingstone.com/feature/tom-petty-on-past-confederate-flag-use-it-was-downright-stupid-177619/ But just move on from that example and replace the confederate flag with a swastika, which certainly had life prior to the Nazis adopting it. Yet no one flies the swastika as a sign of "health, luck, success and prosperity."
  13. If there was ever a year, it would be 2024. 81 year old Biden vs. Felon Trump. I agree that polls this far out are not accurate, but 24% to RFK isn't something to just dismiss. And there are a lot of Never Trumpers that just won't vote in a Biden-Trump 1v1 that would vote for Manchin. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/11/07/us/elections/times-siena-battlegrounds-registered-voters.html
  14. Yeah. There are a lot of Never Trumpers that would vote for Manchin. Would be pretty interesting if Manchin and RFK Jr both got 10%, especially if they took a state or two. Could make 270 very difficult for anyone or we could have a president elected with 40% or less of the popular vote.
  15. So crazy that he was the centerpiece gem of the huge Teizeira trade, yet he was the one who amounted to nothing, while Elvis, Neftali and Harrison all became All Stars and key players on pennant winning teams.
  16. A review of the "voter suppression" in Mississippi yesterday. - Hinds County itself is required to provide ballots that amount to a minimum of 60% of the active voter count. - Reportedly 9 of 107 precincts ran out of ballots. One as early as 8:30 am. - It was reported by a Hinds County Election Commissioner that the shortage was because voter turnout was "unexpectedly high". - Actual voter turnout in Hinds County was 38%. Well below 60%. No precinct got to 60%, in fact only one got to 50%. - All 107 precincts were allowed to stay open an extra 2 hours. https://www.co.hinds.ms.us/pgs/results/Unofficial Election Results.pdf https://www.co.hinds.ms.us/pgs/results/Unoffical Precinct Report.pdf
  17. I've posted this before, but Reeves is very unpopular with many Republicans in MS. He's made a lot of enemies along the way. Phil Bryant won Gov in 2011 and 2015 by 20-30%. Yesterday, Lt Gov, SOS, AG, Treasurer, etc. all won in MS by ~20%. Meanwhile, Tate won by 5%.
