  1. Just a stupid fucking cow who has done this 3 times with that same hay ring. It is a lightweight one even before one of the rings broke off the bottom. She gets her head under it and just pushes her way in. I came up the the place this time last year and found these tracks all over that one 50 acre pasture and it took me a bit before I realized what was going on.
  2. That’s not how this is supposed to work.
  3. Spot and sneak on some ducks Shoot and retrieve some ducks Cook and eat some ducks
  4. Took us about an hour to to hook up and drag it straight out of the storage bay, drain the main tank, drain the water heater, open low point drains and blow all faucets, hose connections and drains. We added some anti-freeze into the ptraps, backed it into the bay, set the jacks and unhitched. Probably over cautious but a little time now hopefully prevents issues when whe want to use it next month.
  5. Any of y’all with RV’s in the freeze zone might consider a little winterizing before the front next week. We’re gonna go drain and blow out the lines this evening just to be on the safe side.
  6. It was 105F or higher most of the summer. Consider those pieces kiln dried and burn them up.
  7. I haven’t duck hunted much in the past few years but my son showed some interest in duck hunting again after his roommate started going frequently at the start of the season this year. We’ve since hunted together a few times on the 10 acre lake on our family place and on the public reservoir that borders our property. Haven’t really had much success but saw a bunch of birds drop into a spot 1/4 mile across the cove while hunting last week during a camping trip to the property. We went again Sunday morning and decided to hunt where we saw them the week before. We got to the spot, got our dekes out, built a quick blind built up and settled in before shooting time started. We ended up having a decent hunt and shot 12 birds between the 3 of us, a mix of Greenwing Teal and Gadwalls.
  8. I have the 20v 12” Dewalt saw and use the 5 AH batteries. I use it at the ranch when I need to make a few small cuts real quick and around the campfire. I have even took it the last few years to the Christmas tree farm and cut down my tree with it. Runtime with the 5 ah battery hasn’t been a problem but most of my cuts are 6” diameter or smaller.
  9. Team Dewalt, Started with 18v NICAD tools 15+ years ago, then bought 20v lithium to 18 V adapters to use the old tools and started buy brushless 20v tools. Still use the original 18v tool set and have 10-12 20v tools. My favorite tools are a 12” chainsaw and air inflator. Both exceed my expectations almost every time them. Have looked at the Milwaukee 12v ecosystem primarily for battery powered 3/8 ratchet. Dewalts version sucks Starting new, I might go Milwaukee 18v instead of Dewalt. Ryobi is ok for most homeowner applications. The Toolguyd blog has a great rundown on the various battery systems https://toolguyd.com/best-cordless-power-tool-brand/
  10. On an old 60 you can get both framed in the same pic.
  11. Never been on the lake but I would fish structure, ie boat docks alternating between lures until I found a pattern or developed confidence in one lure/color for those water conditions. That’s for LMB, white bass/hybrids etc I would try to find schools of shad in deeper water with electronics.
  12. Had a great weekend up at the ranch. It was a little windy Sat night but overall the weather was great. My sisters (no pics) and one BIL stayed Friday night after a short memorial for a recently deceased aunt. They had a good time shooting a few guns, cutting cedars and yaupon for Christmas decorations. I made some great burgers for supper and we did a few rounds of s’mores and cocktails by the fire. My son and his roommate came up Sat night and we hunted ducks on Sunday morning with a little bit of success. We had a late brunch and shot up more shells on some thrown targets and and spinners and plates on the pistol range. I really love camping at the ranch this time of year and can’t wait to get back up there after Christmas.
  13. Ask her how much for for a decent WWT 40’ high cube delivered to 75110?
  14. Main anchor was never deployed. Can see it easily in the videos and pics.
  15. We always did: - 401k up to company match - Roth IRA until income limits kicked in - 401k max contribution - 401k catch up after 50 - Brokerage account Probably left some on the table regarding the HSA accounts but Oh well.
  16. Welcome back to the Chit Show!
  17. I had one of the Slime 12v lighter plug compressors and it would start popping fuses at ~50psi. I run the rv trailer tires at 75 so there was no way it was gonna work for those. Dewalt handles 75 psi no prob. If I was gonna buy a stand alone I’d spent the $$$ on a Viair 450P-RV. Those things are great for rv tires or setting up onboard air. The Dewalt is $120 for the bare Tool (no batteries) right now and will probably drop close to $100 during Black Friday. I paid $100 for mine I think.
  18. I carry a bunch of Dewalt 20v stuff including the inflator and the big 1/2 impact all the time in my truck. Makes dealing with tire issues a breeze. Used it this weekend on a utility trailer and tractor tire. Almost every battery tool brand has a decent inflator to go with their battery ecosystem. Project Farm has a couple of really good cordless inflator reviews.
  19. Attempting the Iron Lotus in the middle of a hockey game is pretty impressive.
  20. Chinese robot says Fuck You Asimov and your robot laws.
  21. The Albemarle 53 Spencer Edition makes it debut at the FLIBs this week. Beautiful boat from a collaboration between 2 great boat builders. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cy09y9HurEH/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  22. We did some projects with his company several years back. Never met the old man as we mainly dealt with the son. For whatever reason, the projects never really planned out. Clash of personalities I guess.
