  1. I would always bring one just in case. There are lots of shallow spots and rock bars where you can play under supervision without one but I would have them wearing it in the deeper pools for sure. My daughter (no pics) brought a friend from college one summer who wore a PFD the whole time in the water. Kayaking, paddle board, playing frisbee in waist deep water it didn’t matter. Wasn’t a confident swimmer so the pfd stayed on.
  2. It varies from a couple of inches over shallow rapids to 10+ feet deep in the pool above the dam. What is you question or concern? River flow is 27cfs which is pretty low.
  3. Not a fan of anything on wheel studs except a nut. Any oil etc you put on there reduces the friction torquing up and you can stretch or pop the studs before reaching your needed torque. Clean and torque up dry, then put on some type of dry coating to prevent rust.
  4. Better pack a good battery impact tool if your worried about stuck lug nuts. We follow a bunch of FB rv groups for TX rving and our camper brand and while a TPMS can give you peace of mind, they usually give little warning. Seems like I have read several of people losing a complete tire and rim several miles back down the road and the TPMS is happily telling them they have 72psi in all tires. That said, I would put on in and a camera system if we were taking multi day, cross country trips. And I’m more worried about wrecking the fender flare and side of the trailer with a partially thrown tread than getting the lugnuts off. Seen many more pics of the wheel wells and trailer sides all torn up than someone complaining they can’t loosen a set of lugnuts.
  5. Spent the weekend and 4th at our favorite site at Birch Creek SP. Definitely warm but had a good time. Did a little boating, a little paddling, some cooking and drinking. Boat rides at dusk in a flat lake are really nice. Had a pretty good storm yesterday afternoon. We had noticed a little rain to the south on a trip down to the marina to get an ice cream and as we came out after our purchase it looked real ugly. Got out of the No wake zone and put the hammer down for the 8 mile run back to the campsite. Rain hit just as I finished get the boat anchored back up and the family secured the campsite. Watched a lot of idiots still running on the lake or swimming as the lightning started.
  6. Got drunk and rode a pump jack.
  7. Counterpoint: Rangerettes and closer to the Country Tavern
  8. That’s a lotta work with a die grinder and because surly, I’ve seen better at the Spaghetti warehouse.
  9. Quit wearing a watch and ring back in the early 2000’s when I started traveling overseas doing a lot more oil and gas field work. Got a Citizen diver and an Seiko automatic dress watch a few years back, then got a Garmin Instinct Solar gps watch. It will run for 3 weeks + between charges so I wear it pretty much all the time now. I like the text and phone call alerts, HR and health functions, gps tracking to the Garmin app and that I can drop a MOB pin on the watch and chart plotter with a button press. Can also use the watch to trigger an InReach satellite message when out of cell service.
  10. I spent a shit ton of money in Turner’s and at Empire when I worked off 290 in that area. Love those stores.
  11. That’s sucks. I had a primer go off while priming brass and damn near shit my pants, can’t imagine a truckload of the them going. And as a purely selfish note, that’ll kick of the primer hoarding again.
  12. Dad paid $8k for installation of new 5 ton, 14 seer compressor and evaporator unit 5 years ago in East Texas as another data point.
  13. Welcome to the Grand Design family. We have enjoyed the hell out of our Imagine 2800BH.
  14. I’ve created a new acronym based on Fire blogger Sam Dogen’s recent announcement that he has decided to go back to work to save/pay forkids education NMMB2W
  15. Gotta suck when a small shark bite DQs a $3.5mm fish. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12208555/Fishing-team-lose-3-5million-prize-619-pound-blue-marlin-caught-disqualified-competition.html
  16. Took Juneteenth off as we had planned on camping but canceled, so I changed filters and oil in the Ram today. 12 qts of oil into the Cummins, about 12 qts of water into me. Damn it is hot.
  17. If the mouse is in the cab, it could probably live forever on Whataburger drippings Everytime I clean my cab I find dried onion, runaway French fries and shredded lettuce in the floorboard and between the west and console.
  18. Seems like this could be a really valid excuse for some other activities.
  19. Yeah, that works too but I’ve put 7500 miles on the truck since then and would have already needed a new set and Discount credited the one with the hole in it. As an update, I’m 3 years and 10 days in on my Ram 2500. 72K miles with about 10% of that towing our travel trailer and another 3-4K towing our boat or a utility trailer. I’ve taken in the shop once to do a recall and I need to get it back in for the high pressure pump recall but other than that it’s been fuel, oil, filters and tires. Very happy with the purchase. Display MPG reads 20mpg on long trips if I keep it around 70 and dips to 18.5 at 80mph
  20. Hey dumbass, maybe if you’d put a sawblade on there with the chain it wouldn’t jump off so much - roethlisberger.gif
  21. Usually means you just get stucker.
  22. Tell me y’all don’t Metric system without telling me y’all don’t Metric system. This fucking thing is tiny. Less than 1/2” long and a tenth in diameter. My guess is a punch pin from a watch band link changing tool. Lots of shit like that on Amazon.
