  1. Every QB besides (or maybe including) Bryce Young in the 2023 draft was probably overrated relative to top QB prospects in other years, but Levis gets disproportionately shit on. He did lead lowly Kentucky to a top10 ranking in 2021 and put up good stats in the SEC. He played hurt, had his OC replaced with an idiot (who has since been fired), and lost a lot at OL in 2022 so his stats and wins dropped. Is he a worse QB now? What did Richardson do on the field to merit his hype and #4 pick? The Kipers of the world have repeatedly asked “if you traded Levis and Young or Levis and Stroud, wouldn’t Levis have done better with Bama or Ohio St? How would Young have done with 2022 Kentucky? Stroud with 2022 Kentucky (probably shitty!)?” Stroud and Levis probably deserved to be mid to late firsts and Richardson maybe late first as a lottery ticket based on potential. Texans picked Stroud though so close your eyes and hope for the best.
  2. They should’ve been going best player available every pick since the 2021 draft, but definitely true now. They could still use a WR, C, OT, DT, LB, CB.
  3. It seems like he paid the recent market rate to move up that high, and then everyone else started paying less for their trade ups. This draft is shaping up like the teams don’t value the “top players” as much as the ESPN and mock draft people did. Trying to be glass half full that Anderson was worth it. Bijan, Wilson, Carter, and the top three OTs would’ve been off the board by #12.
  4. Maybe when the dust settles, it will be that NFL teams thought this class was crappy and Anderson was the only player worth a shit? Tennessee wanted to jump in front of Indy for either Stroud or Levis. They could’ve backed out when Houston took Stroud. Other teams wanted Anderson. We’ll probably never what other offers Arizona was entertaining. Arizona got a good deal on #6 because they were all in on the Illinois CB and Pete Carroll buttfucked that plan, so Detroit had to eject.
  5. I think giving up 33% of the Deshaun Watson haul to move up from #12 to #3 for Anderson is still a better scenario than if the Texans had gone Tyree Wilson at #2 and either JSN or the guard from Northwestern at #12.
  6. Any chance the next year #1 is Cleveland’s? If not, it’s still possible that Watson will get his penis ripped off and the Browns go 2-15.
  7. Damn, Rich Eisen said they gave up #12, #33, and next years first rounder and third rounder
  8. Stroud is apparently stupid so you shouldn’t build your offense upon that rock.
  9. In summary, the 2023 draft class blows and if you hold a top 10 pick this year, sorry!
  10. Bryce Young combine weight - 204 lbs CJ Stroud combine weight - 214 lbs ????
  11. If that played out, they’d be stupid to not grab Bijan at #20
  12. He offers an interesting scenario that if Wilson slips, Texans could go Anderson/Wilson and DL goes from a weakness to a super strength. Still need a QB and WR though.
  13. Most NFL fans want to draft like it’s Madden and don’t consider roster or scheme fit. Drafting JSN to play slot is redundant if Metchie really is healthy, but all the mouth breather Texans fans want him at #12 because we need a receiver dammit! LZ has been high on Jalen Hyatt as the best homerun WR prospect of the draft (and the real reason for Tennessee’s and Hooker’s success last season), and he could be there at #33.
  14. If they draft Richardson, I look forward to the Hallmark moment story in two years of some 7th round QB with the ability to put the ball in the general vicinity of the WRs coming in and turning around the Texans season.
  15. Why? Because you think he will bust or have they done a good job covering up him being an asshole and drug addict?
  16. How many RBs drafted since 2010 (or 2013 if you want to make it an even decade) are Canton-bound? Maybe Derrick Henry if he doesn’t see a production decrease that seems to hit every back his age. Was Saquon Barkley Canton-bound, and regardless, would the NYG draft him over again at #2 if they could do things differently? In this age, Barry Sanders might not have made it to the HOF. Continue on with burnt orange glasses and koolaid. Don’t get me wrong, the Texans are predictably dumb and will most likely draft Tyree Wilson (who will later discover his foot injury is worse than advertised and he is never healthy). At this point I’d rather them take Levis than Wilson at #2; but definitely Bijan would be more likely to add production than either. But facts are facts (or unbreakable dogma) in the NFL concerning RBs. I don’t see Bijan going top 10 unless it’s Philly at 10 or someone trying to hop in front of Philly and trading up to #9. There’s decent odds he could be there at #12, and would be safer and better than JSN, Van Ness, or a Clemson needs motivation dude. If Houston gets Bijan, I wouldn’t necessarily shop Pierce given how much the SF fellows like to run the ball.
  17. Montgomery Co. gives no shits about market downturn. My appraisal went up 27% (still protected by 10% cap for a couple years). This is the first time since about 2015 (through-2020 in Travis Co; 2020-2023 in Montgomery) that I’ve felt their appraised value is actually higher than I could sell it for, by at least $25k.
  18. LZ said this morning he thinks in his final Mock for nfl.com today he’s going Anderson or Wilson (if Caserio can risk another injured upside player) at #2 and Bijan at #12 if he gets past ATL at 8 and Philly at 10. It would be bad ass. This draft could go a lot worse than Will Anderson, Bijan Robinson, and Trey Lance joining the 2023 team.
  19. LZ said he got called with that question from a Boston media person. Maybe they got it from some bullshit tweet. Seems like Belichick does hate him some Mac Jones though and wouldn’t mind him gone after the Matt Patricia OC experiment took some more shine off tattered hoodie man.
  20. Rumor of the day: #2 pick for Mac Jones, #14 pick, and NE’s 4th rounder Residual smoke around #33 for Trey Lance.
  21. I’m biased towards Lance Zierlien because he’s on local radio, but he has contacts in the Texans, he’s good friends with the Colts’ GM, his dad was the OL coach for the Steelers and Browns, and he moonlights for NFLN. He nailed both of the Texans picks last year (and disagreed with them pre and post draft). His last mock initiated the Stroud tumble unintentionally (he was only mocking based on how he thinks Nick Caserio and Chris Ballard think).
  22. How do you reach that conclusion? S2 is being used in several sports for any athlete whose position or role requires fast thinking and recognition. Stroud’s result could yield a conclusion that he doesn’t call his own plays or even read defenses, but rather just throw to a predetermined receiver. When he has NFL caliber WRs against Big10 DBs and an OC calling good plays, you could have a brain dead robot back there as long as they throw accurately. What’s most bizarre is how he was an outlier a good 30 or 40 points lower than the second worst QB, and 80 points lower than Bryce Young.
