  1. Turns out their mom was just a whore who banged some dudes at the intergalactic truck stop but pulled the “immaculate conception” story out to cover with her lady friend. Fin.
  2. Tommen aging like Mike Elko
  3. Was he like a coach on the roof?
  4. Same. They have to move beyond Skywalkers if they want to keep growing, and maybe Jedi too, but the central theme of Star Wars is the Force and those who wield it. They could make great stories focused on Jedi from any time frame, or they could make a great story where a Jedi is a member of a mixed group of protagonists, and it would be great as long as the story is great. I loved Mando, and episodes with Ahsoka and Luke are some of my favorites. I loved Andor and there weren’t any Jedi. Don’t need Jedi, but don’t need to avoid Jedi either. Beating the dead horse, but Disney reaches for the Jedi or nostalgia as a crutch amidst mediocre to poor stories. It’s extra frustrating as a fan when higher ups, showrunners, and directors try to awkwardly shoehorn in whatever their pet political issue is, because you have to wonder if they could’ve made better stories and dialogue if they weren’t distracted with trying to preach at the audience.
  5. This draft sucks so is there much long term difference between who gets picked #3 vs #9? We expected to pick at #9 before the lottery. If Memphis or anyone else is stupid enough to give up something of value, why not trade back/out?
  6. Who would’ve guessed it would be a WNBA thread where posters reveal they may or may not be gay?
  7. Are people obsessed with her? I referenced Trinity because it seems like the writer and director just made a Jedi version of a Matrix-style Trinity fight. I was waiting for her to put one hand behind her back and make the Mae girl start punching in slow motion. Then a Jedi Neo flies in to remove the bullet, I mean knife, from her chest and start her heart back up. I consume all Star Wars content, but I’m not impressed through 2 episodes. Dialogue is lazy, half the actors seem like amateurs, some of the dialogue and context seems very contemporary and Millennial-driven while this was supposed to be set 100 years before Episode I. Did society fall into some kind of Dark Ages on Yoda’s watch where they socially and technologically regressed?
  8. I hope Neo can resurrect Trinity one more time.
  9. It’s next level managing when you bat the player with the highest average in the 9 hole.
  10. One review said you have to wait until the third episode before anyone uses a gendered pronoun 😂
  11. I don’t think most of them play that way.
  12. I hope the ass kicking in the first game back is so huge that the Longhorns in attendance get the “POOOOOOOR AGGIES” chant going early enough to make Dennis Franchione ask for a rolling clock.
  13. You forgot UNCOVER!, Farmers fight!, off the grass and off the wood!
  14. There’s an alternate universe where Selig’s Brewers were forced back into the AL and we’re still with our friendly rivals in our own time zone.
  15. It will remain available as a bomb shelter for decades to come.
  16. Looks like contact before Soto is touching the bag. He’s in a tough spot either way. If he had got back to the bag first by stepping or sliding, if the umpire felt like he was moving and not trying to avoid contact, he’s going to get called out. Kind of stupid on an infield fly rule since the batter is out, but I guess an egregious interference could result in a loose ball and a runner scoring, so that’s why it’s a rule.
  17. I don’t believe a runner on a base is required to move. In this play, the runner left 2B then contacted the fielder while returning to the base.
  18. Go review the rules of baseball. It is the runner’s obligation to avoid contact with any fielder trying to make a play even if they are in the base path. He either had to run around him in a non-direct line, or get out. Those were his choices. Going straight to the bag and contacting the fielder is interference. People should learn interference and obstruction rules by 7U.
  19. Not shoulder checking the SS like it was a drunken Surly tailgate is one option.
  20. All of this, except my sons might benefit from the opportunity to get into MMP for $10. Fuck Jeff Bagwell. He is the Jack Easterby of the Astros and Crane is too dumb to see it. He manages a front office about as well as her performed in the playoffs. I was always and continue to be Team Biggio. If Dana Brown can evaluate talent, they should consider being sellers and move Bregman, JV, maybe Framber and Chas. Extend Tucker and rebuild around him and Yordan. Cut Jose Abreu immediately.
  21. Nico had two disappointing seasons then one good season, after getting CJ and with most of his stats coming after Tank went down. Waddle plays with Tua and is the second option behind Tyreek and put up 3 good seasons. I wouldn’t use Nico’s great second half of 2023 to say paying him $24m/yr is a much better deal than paying Waddle $28/yr. I’m still skeptical about Nico (or any player handed a big contract after a statistical outlier performance during a contract year (yes, I know Nico had a 4th year on his rookie deal)) that they may get content with their bag and not play up to their maximum. At least he’s young enough to still be motivated to play for his next bag in 2028, hopefully.
  22. Shoot the moon, baby. Half of PHX’s first round picks through 2030 belong to Brooklyn, and the other half have pick swap options on them to Brooklyn or Washington. The cupboard would be ultra bare when KD leaves, Lebron retires, and the Bronny experience is long over.
  23. Maybe Lebron thinks he can manipulate some sign and trade to Phoenix? I assume he doesn’t want to (1) play with his son and (2) win enough to opt out of his player option and sign with PHX for the vet minimum (which is the easiest way for him to play with Bronny). Trying to make some stupid super team is pretty on brand for him, and KD.
  24. So Bronny only works out for Lakers and Suns but Rich Paul says they are open to anyone? Then today he says they will not accept a two way contract that is pretty standard for second round picks. Basically if you aren’t the Lakers or Suns, you have to take him in the first round….or let’s finagle this so the Lakers or Suns can wait and take him late in the second round.
