    Fat Gary? He gone.

Should have handed the ball off 35 times against KSU. Oh, wait. . . .😝
  2. Went to Cattleack on Friday with my buddy who flew in from Grand Junction, Co. Arrived at 12:20, ordered at 1, and by the time we left, the board which shows what is sold out by taping over the options only showed brisket. Outstanding ribs, brisket, but the sausage with cheese & hatch chiles was the star. Dear God I had a spiritual experience when the smoke taste was revealed in the first bite that lasted until there was none left. Followed that up by going to Louie Mueller's in Taylor for lunch Saturday morning. There was a vintage car show going on and we were first in line at 10am. Watched the Longhorns jump out to a nice lead and then left knowing by the end of the game that would be reversed and chose to allow the excellent barbecue to digest properly instead of watching the futile attempt at a win against a ranked team. Brisket was just a notch below Cattlelack as were ribs. First time there and enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly discussion with others in line before opening. Went to Miller's smokehouse in Belton to grab dinner. While the barbecue was worthy of the top 50 list, the chocolate cream pie with graham cracker crust won dessert of the trip for me. Our plan was to come back through Arlington on Sunday and stop at Hurtado's, but both of us decided the meat coma we were just beginning to come out of would only be further exacerbated. Another reason to do this again in the near future and maybe add Goldee's to the trip if the mania has subsided any.
  3. Who wouldn't want to eat lunch and dinner every. . . . . . .single. . . . day surrounded by thousands of estrogen and testosterone charged teenagers from every small town brought by every church bus in California? And who knows, maybe he got a degree from ITT tech, bought a 640 square foot tiny house, and got married to a mail order bride at the justice of the peace office. Anyone who would do the Six Flags shit makes me think this scenario is not out of the question.
  4. Well, the "Whopper" was already taken by Burger King, so there you go.
  5. No argument-Cupp's does good work and their fries are endorsed by every heart specialist within 50 miles of McClennan county.
  6. Missing the Dart Bowl cheese enchiladas every time this thread is updated😔
  7. Health camp? Sounds like yet another cult compound Health Camp is the Waco equivalent of the now departed Hut's on 6th street (😔).
  8. Still laughing at this quote everytime I see a handicapped parking spot.
  9. The two best things about Waco are George's and Health Camp. All else is folly. Fuck Baylor.
  10. Shaddie- Something to look forward to when we are reunited with our canine kids forevermore. All dogs go to heaven and I choose to believe will meet us again. Your next dog needs you and is already looking forward to coming home to bring you joy. Don't miss the opportunity!
  11. Plotting his revenge-sleep with one eye open as Metallica says.
  12. Well that just sucks about Drew's Place. It was the best place to eat before going to here live music at Robert Ealey's bluebird blues club. Both Drew's Place and Drake's Cafeteria on Rosedale were the best places to get soul food. I shall miss the smothered pork chops with collard greens and broccoli rice & cheese casserole at Drew's that never failed to satisfy on a spiritual level, as well as the best customer service in Fort Worth.
  13. Bought a couple of two liter bottles at Wally world this afternoon. Eight remained on the shelf.
  14. They use Imperial margarine and everyone has one after eating there.
  15. NEVER inappropriate for damn sure.
  16. Guilty by association ( within 50 mile radius) Fuck BAYLOR
  17. If you can name anyone who has a better bird nest on the ground than Brady, my hat is off to you. Hell, even when he loses, he goes home to a super model.
  18. We led for 59 1/2 minutes until losing in the 4th quarter on a hail Mary.
  19. Me and Typhoon used to frequent Bronx Zoo. They didn't even have drywall in half the place. Part of the monthly White Trash Pub Crawl back in the 90's. Good times, I think?
  20. Hell, there were only three bottles in the cooler when I snagged this one. Beggars/choosers dontchaknow???
  21. I remember when the seventh street corridor was nothing but abandoned car lots and a few bars when Fred's was about the only going interest. Always had good food and the staff was always outstanding. Sad that as you say the decline was very noticeable before COVID and will likely lead to the end of a great FW eatery if it continues in the new location.
  22. Arrived at Goldee's 7:15 this morning, 20th in line. Served at 11:20, and left the parking lot at 12:15, where the line was over 60 deep. Johnny White said they sold out yesterday at 4pm. You got to pay the price to enjoy the dance, and today was a spiritual experience for the wife, my best friend from Clemson, and another friend who just retired from TCU. Meat coma setting in, going to ...............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz😑
  23. Yeah, Walter White's car wash was already taken, so this was the next best option.
  24. How many people were behind the guy holding the last man standing sign at Goldee's? Channel 5 had an interview this morning live from there so I'm sure it was a shitshow by the time they opened.
  25. Never made it to the circle location but when he first opened inside the gas station in Cresson his work was in the top 25. Sometimes when fan recognition and appreciation happens, the owners can become overwhelmed either by the increase in business or believing the hype so much that the quality that brought the notice slips due to the fact they stop doing the little things that separate great barbecue from that which is simply good barbecue. Heim is an example of this effect-the continued expansion from a trailer to multiple locations has had an adverse effect on their quality. It's still decent enough to warrant recognition, but not what it was when first opened. That said, I hope Goldee's can handle the pressure of their success, including being named #1. Life is about to get real interesting in the coming weeks at this little place off of Dick Price road. It was always great arriving 10 minutes before opening and getting served in less than that but I sense those days are over. I'm willing to pay the price of waiting so long as the product remains consistently worth the wait.
