  1. A phrase I heard long back: "What 2 things can drive anywhere? An M1 Abrams and a rental car."
  2. It's easy to forget that these are (arguably) the 20 best drivers in the world...well, 19 if you rightfully remove Stroll. Their reactions are often unbelievable, but that catch was just insane. I'm sure the data is there on the internet somewhere, but he was probably >100mph when it stepped out?
  3. Ok, I know this is a dumb question. And I know the answer is "because aggy"... But what exactly is it, that they believe we have done *to them*? Other than things in our own best interest, not specific to them, which all schools are (or should be) doing?
  4. Palmer has been on fire...starting to give me some hope!!
  5. hehe...fair enough. Spoilered in case:
  6. Anyone have a link to a clip of the speech from the war council?
  7. I know this post is a bit far back, but just wanted to offer my 2 cents on this, after having elected to do "monovision" 4 years back: don't fucking do it. 90% of the time, your brain adjusts, and you don't even notice. but the other 10% is bullshit. - do you shoot? Make sure your 'near' eye is the one you use for the sight, and the 'far' eye is the one you use to look downrange. If you get it backwards, it sucks. - do you drive? If you have a cup of water or coffee and take a swig, make sure you aren't covering up the 'far' eye, or the whole outside world goes blurry. And you may need to turn your head completely to make sure your 'near' eye can focus on anything you want to see clearly on the dashboard. - roll over in the morning to glance at the clock to see the time? better hope your 'near' eye is not in the pillow or you won't see shit. - Watching something in unbalanced lighting (like, say, a lamp to one side of the sitting area while watching TV)? Be prepared for one eye to take over based on lighting, overriding whichever eye you actually need to use for watching. All of these are blatantly obvious when spelled out...and perfectly logical looking back. But all I heard before was "your brain will adjust" - and it does...for most situations. Do not recommend.
  8. agreed. we are going to lose - or at least drop points - to 10-man, about-to-be-relegated Burnley... *sigh* [edit] - and yet, still dominate pretty much every statistic.
  9. I know this isn't exactly a 'hot take', but it seems a bit premature to declare "Ferrari is back!" when Max was driving on 3 wheels and was out of the race in 3 laps. I like Checo, but comparing a team result to Checo just isn't the same as comparing to Max. (VABuckeye, not directed at you - I know you were just sharing info!)
  10. Wow...looks like they guarantee a 100pt improvement on the SAT. Will definitely be checking them out - thanks!
  11. Blame Microsoft...lol https://arstechnica.com/cars/2024/03/formula-1-chief-appalled-to-find-team-using-excel-to-manage-20000-car-parts/
  12. Shit, I hate how this season is going, but damn it would be nice to get some consistency in leadership...
  13. Yeah, this is not going to be good for my productivity...
  14. I like it. You're not wrong...but I like it.
  15. Last night was my first time seeing Tool...fantastic show! I can see why they are on a lot of folks' "bands you must see" lists.
  16. I missed it also...sounds like more missed opportunities...
  17. Use these online tools to find the nearest well and check out their report: https://www3.twdb.texas.gov/apps/WaterDataInteractive/GroundwaterDataViewer/?map=sdr Here's a sample near San Angelo (I think that's where @CleverNickname is digging). Anyway, page 2 details the soil & depths they encountered during the drill: https://www3.twdb.texas.gov/apps/waterdatainteractive//GetReports.aspx?Num=168240&Type=SDR-Well
  18. So the schedule is going to kill us, except that it is easy. And the schedule is easy, except for 2 of the top 6 preseason teams - and 1 of those on the road. Got it.
  19. 2 inter-related items that don't actually answer your question, but may work: 1. Redbox Restoration, in Leander, is fantastic (but not mobile) (https://redbox-restoration.com/) 2. Sunrae Transport, in Round Rock, is a high-end auto transporter (with enclosed trailer) that is also fantastic. (https://sunraetransport.com/)
  20. ~80 on the interstate would be high 20's. 65 on the highways would break 30mpg.
  21. Just finished Stringers on the Kindle...fantastic read!
  22. Gorgeous truck! We've had the 'baby-max' 1500 High Country for about 15,000 miles now, and still love it. MPG (at least, without a lift ) is amazing, and towing power is ridiculous.
