  1. Of course Mulkey couldn’t be bothered to attend on her day off. She’s the fucking worst and I have no idea how she cons people to play for her. I guess winning cures all ills.
  2. About to head out to get breakfast in KC and then on to Lawrence. Cant wait. Saw a bunch of people in UT gear on the plane. While that’s not unusual in Austin, it was more than usual and a lot of groups of guys or guys flying alone. My buddy who flew in from Dallas said the same thing. We may have a pretty good representation, which is great considering how mediocre we are.
  3. This has been mentioned like 5 times on this thread so no shame it liking it. That’s for two reasons: 1. You are clearly not alone 2. This movie objectively rules
  4. Thanks, that's helpful. I actually watched a couple of Ear Scouts videos based on your rec earlier in the thread. I had to have a lie down after, but they were very helpful to see how the app works. I'll check out the standby skipper and mouse dining you mentioned.
  5. We're headed to Disney next week. It will be the second time for our 7YO daughter and first for our 4YO son. Our 7YO came, but she was only 2 at the time. It was more of an extended family trip my wife didn't want to miss, so she'll be much more into it this time. We're excited and I am trying to get everything planned. I am not working right now, so I have the time, but I don't know how you do this with a real job. It's exhausting combing through everything. A couple of things I've noticed that frustrate me: - This Genie+/Lightning Lane system is absurd. I'd rather not be super stressed at 6:45am to buy my pass and to keep refreshing the page. Also, would rather not be on my phone all day in the park trying to get it all booked. Really fucking bad system and I can't believe they haven't changed it. - The Disney website is garbage. It's slow and hard to use. Finding and booking restaurants is a pain the ass. I know there's a lot going on, but just hire OpenTable to run it. It would be so much easier. I guess they don't feel the need to spend money on tech if everyone is coming anyway. Looking forward to the trip. We're going right before Spring Break, so it will hopefully be a little less nuts out there. I know it will always be busy to an extent. We'll see.
  6. I bought tickets for Jenny Lewis on Mar 1 at ACL Live, but we booked a vacation that weekend, so can't make it. Let me know if any of you guys want them.
  7. Saw Part 1 again at the Alamo a couple of weeks ago. The last 20 mins or so drags, but otherwise, that movie rules so hard. Just the best filmmaking across the board and the visuals and sound in the theater are incredible. The CGI isn't seamless, but it's pretty damn close. The whole movie feels tactile, which is a real rarity in big movies these days. Can't wait for Part 2.
  8. I'd give it another look. It's a classic
  9. Thanks for checking in. Sorry I haven't given any updates. My 180 day marrow tests came back negative and my engraftment test said 100%, essentially meaning I have all new marrow. Wild. It's been really hard to process, mainly because my doctor said that he doesn't really feel we're done until 2 years post-transplant. He said he's only had one or two come back because of a relapse after 2 years. That said, all of the current metrics are right where they need to be, so I'm in the best position I could be in. In general, I feel 100% normal outside of some minor issues here and there. Just have to wait out another 18 months. My marrow tests will be every 6 months from here on (assuming no relapse) and I'll see the doctor when I go get them done. I do have to keep doing blood tests weekly for now here in Austin to make sure my meds aren't causing issues. I will slowly be able to wean off of those in the future, so looking forward to that. He does want me on a drug that he thinks helps keep it away, as they have had good results with it on relapses. My insurance rejected it because they're fucks who know more than the best cancer hospital in the world. I asked what the out of pocket was and they told me it was $19K. Per month. I'm waiting on a response on my appeal, but how is that in any way a properly functioning industry? Good luck to everyone. Keep truckin' TLDR: Best place I can be, but still need to stay vigilant. Fuck medical costs and insurance companies.
  10. Awesome. My 7 year old daughter has gotten into the original series somehow. It’s not a great show but the theme song still rips. She’ll love this.

    The Wire

This is probably the most talked about thing in the history of Hornfans/Shaggy/Surly. It's been noted.

    The Wire

Whatever you think of the conclusion, this is an unreal passage from the opinion of the Hawaii Supreme Court:
  13. Love Lawrence Wright and the book. It’s a great read. I’ll definitely tune into the series.
  14. We did a boat trip on Mallorca a couple of years ago and spent a night on the front end and a couple nights on the back end in Palma. We bounced to coastal towns on the boat for the days in between. I'll ask my friends and see if anyone remembers where we went throughout the trip. There was a lot of booze and places were written in something called "Spanish", so I don't remember specific places we went.
  15. Me and a buddy are making our way to Lawrence this year to pay our respects to God's Gift to Basketball before we take off to the SEC. Anyone going this year? Anyone been in the past and have tips on the town before/after the game?
  16. Off the rim but real dumb by Shedrick
  17. I am a massive fan of Layer Cake and really wish he would go back to that (the diner scene is A+ filmmaking), instead of dumb CGI-fest action movies.
  18. Always loved this song. That first album of hers was pretty great. She hosted some New Year's thing too and she was a mess there. I give it somewhat of a pass since it was New Year's, but obviously there is more to it.
  19. I have not dug too deep into the early or latest albums but Red and 1989 are legitimately great records.
