  1. Nothing really stands out. They liked the ham sandwiches and were good with the roasted chicken dishes that were always on the kids menus (if they had one). They also had a couple of Croque Monsieurs and they were good with those. We did the TGV in August out to Strasbourg and it was a pleasant experience, so surprised at the experience upthread. Maybe one of us just got lucky/unlucky.
  2. What could possibly be a fireable recruiting violation in 2025?

My 8 year old (about to be 9) is obsessed with the Wings of Fire books. They're about dragons, so in the fantasy realm. There's a lot going on in those and I'm always amazed how she keeps everything straight. I picked up my first Raymond Chandler/Philip Marlowe book about a month ago and have torn through 3 of them since. Put them in the "still relevant 75+ years later for a reason" category. Extremely well written and quick reads.
  4. How many people who were scammed and are asking the FTC to get their money back are "small government conservatives"? 99%? 100%?
  5. I did 5 weeks in Paris "school" through the accounting program in 2004 and there has been a shift for sure. Probably some of it was also some of my friends not giving a shit and acting like they were in East Texas that got us looks. I kept trying, but was unable to get reservations to Notre Dame, so we missed out on that. We did eat dinner one night on Ile St Louis, so we were able to see the outside. I think the viewing areas up top are back open now, but they were still closed when we went. The kids really liked: - We did a private tour in the Louvre which was useful. We went in the side door and hit the high points pretty quickly. It was expensive (possibly not worth it), but we said Fuck It and it worked out well. The 8 year old liked it. Probably a little heady for the 5 year old - The Pastries - The L'Orangerie Museum and Musee D'Orsay both had great kid rooms where they could do crafts and games. It was a great place for us to reset and have them do something creative in the museums. - The macarons - I had a friend of ours use AI to put together a scavenger hunt at the Louvre, L'Orangerie, Orsay and Rodin. That kept them somewhat engaged and they enjoyed that - the crepes - My 5 year old is super into dinosaurs, so we went to the Galerie de Paleontologie, next to the Natural History museum. It's an old place (and in Europe), so it is tight, but they have some great stuff and the kids enjoyed it. - As much of a pain as the Eiffel can be (especially with the new barriers around it), it was probably their favorite location. We just went to the first level and had a pizza up there for dinner. They loved it - The pastries - In Luxembourg Gardens, there is a big fountain where they could rent boats and push them around the fountain. There were a lot of people there and they really enjoyed it. Sometimes, it's the little things. - Their favorite activity in Paris was a family cooking class my friend recommended. It was a lot of fun for all of us and a really cool experience. It's hosted by an Italian grandmother and she has a translator. We made some tarts and madeleines. Just a delightful experience all around. - Oh, and the pastries Through some friends, we had some connections at Fat Tire Bike Tours and they were able to find someone to watch the kids one night, so my wife and I could go out. That was my favorite part.

Any of you guys want another bite at the apple or nah?
  7. This is a wild stat. I understand that some of this is on Arch, holding the ball too long and making great being the enemy of good, but YIKES he was getting wrecked.
  8. He tries to go for the long ball way too much and needs to learn to take the shorter route. He is better though. He looked totally lost early in the year, so hopefully some good tweaking will get better performances. Also, not having to dodge a 300 pound defender every play would help.
  9. That’s a break
  10. I kind of like the 2 point there. That way we know what we need going forward and not leave it to the end.
  11. Because we keep having 1st and 2nd and 20’s because of our OLine.
  12. Agree. 2nd and 9 is different than 2nd and 19
  13. Wingo is not good unless the ball is straight at him. Even then, it’s a tossup
  14. Arch is pouring it out today. He’s getting best up so bad
  15. Just an asskicking all over the field.
  16. Great pass Arch. Had to dodge a free rusher since our OL sucks.
  17. 340-108 in yards. So bad.
  18. QB draw? That’s the adjustment?
  19. The line play on all sides is the issue right now.
  20. Simmons showing up
  21. Sack up guys. It’s one drive.
  22. WTF is Campbell doing? You are down 9. That’s two scores.
  23. Why did ISU go for 2 on their first touchdown and then for the PAT on their second? Now they’re down 2 scores. Either be aggressive with 2 pointers or don’t.
  24. This is just inviting the vampires into the house. It will not work out for the consumer and that sucks.
