  1. I know facts are hard and analysis of facts is even harder for the average American, but I find the Princeton Gerrymander Project, Brennan Center and PlanScore analyses incredibly helpful in understanding the realities around gerrymandering in the U.S. https://gerrymander.princeton.edu/redistricting-report-card https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/how-gerrymandering-tilts-2024-race-house https://planscore.org/library/ While Republicans continue to cry about "the Dems starting it", if you check out the maps you'll see that on the Republican side, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Wisconsin and North Carolina are all gerrymandered to fuck and back. By contrast, if you look at Dem gerrymanders, the only state that is really offensive is Illinois. The reality is that the other states that Abbott and co. cry about (California, New York and Massachusetts) just have partisan voter distributions such that most districts are consistent with the statewide partisan leans (unlike Texas, where you have to split every city 5 ways and combine them with huge chunks of rural wastelands to get so many R districts).
  2. The only this will make a dent with the idiots is (1) if you do the math for them or (2) their bank accounts hit $0. That's exactly why Trump lost his shit when rumors started going around that Amazon was going to show the tariff charge as a distinct line item. It's a shame this country is so stupid.
  3. Patrolling?
  4. Cunt. It's in the UK, thus the freer use of the term.
  5. Love the spirit. Feel like there's an opportunity to develop better chants, though. I'd love for someone to come up with THE OFFICIAL ICE mocking / protest chant. Something like this, which I still think should rain down on DJT whenever he shows up in public:
  6. Aaaaaaand markets don't move at all based on this news. It's almost as if every investor knows that TACO ... shocking.
  7. South Park pulling out all the stops, including Trump sex trafficking Dora at Mar-a-Lago after an ICE raid. Chef's kiss. https://www.cracked.com/article_47761_donald-trump-sex-traffics-dora-the-explorer-in-tonights-new-south-park.html
  8. Does this MFer really think he's going to be able to earn Trump's endorsement with this shit (and the incessant YouTube ads about his voting record in support of Trump)? Gawd, he's fucking naive.
  9. Holy shit, that's a real post by our government.
  10. We could give you some aid, but then the Communists would win. You don't want the Communists to win, do ya, Bud? Didn't think so. So get a good grip on them bootstraps and start tugging.
  11. You have to apply the Trump Tower penthouse adjustment - i.e., "30,000 sf" = ~11,000 actual sf, so we're looking at around 33,000 sf for the ballroom. Realistically, his bullshit isn't linear, so it may be considerably less.
  12. A reasonable person without context might look at the GOP proposal and guess that this is an attempt by a party that has historically been abused by the gerrymander to prove that there has to be some boundary to how abusive a gerrymander can be. Unfortunately, here in the real world, we know this is the GOP trying to prove that there is truly no limit that the current incarnation of the USSC will impose on gerrymandering, so long as it is undertaken by the GOP.
  13. TX-10 and -11 are fucking ridiculous. Fuck these pieces of shit.
  14. For the record, Tapper still fucked up the timeline: https://www.npr.org/2025/07/25/nx-s1-5478620/jeffrey-epstein-crimes-timeline-legal-case https://reason.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Non-Prosecution-Agreement-1433.pdf The Epstein NPA was signed by in September 2007. Prosecutors filed the NPA under seal at the time. Epstein pleaded guilty to the state solicitation charges in June 2008. NPA was unsealed in September 2009 by a Florida judge. To his credit, Tapper called bullshit, but it's worth noting that no part of Markwayne's story was in any way accurate - Acosta, a Bush stooge, was responsible for the deal and the secrecy in 2007, and the NPA was unsealed during Obama's first term (though it's not clear he had anything to do with it). In summary, Markwayne:
  15. Supreme Court (through some circuitous nonsensical 75-page opinion, probably leaning on made-up history):
  16. Never forget:
  17. And even if they did, the GOP has hired every Flow Free expert to help them circumvent any such requirement.
  18. Worth noting that the "proposed maps" floating around are ones developed by some randos, not the legislature: https://www.chron.com/culture/article/texas-redistricting-map-congress-20778346.php Not that the GOP might not try to do something similar, but I don't think they've unveiled anything yet.
  19. And lest you have any doubt, Senator Mullin is 100% as stupid as you would expect a guy named "Markwayne" to be.
  20. Zina Bash - you mean this bitch from the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings? I suppose that checks out.
  21. Clips still up on Comedy Central, including parody ad ... https://southpark.cc.com/video-clips/s34zhn/south-park-he-trumped-us Not sure if CC is going to be limiting YT posts.
  22. The Streisand effect on this one will be considerable. This would go under the radar for a lot of folks, but guaranteed that he will blow it up into something huge. Going to be glorious.
  23. Update requested - by pretty much all accounts, "gross old meat" should fit inside the Epstein Files bubble as well.
  24. As if anyone needed another reason to stay the fuck out of Florida. Fuck the police, and fuck Florida police in particular. BTW - just listen to this asshole try to explain that the victim was just trying to "enflame the public" because he posted the video to social media. No motherfucker - he posted to social media because he knew you would just bury it completely if there wasn't an uproar. The more I see, the more I think it may really be time to trash the system and try to start over.
  25. Never going to happen. The only way to unfuck that line of law is to pack the court and let KTJ write the long overdue, scathing opinion noting that the CU opinion was a fucking ludicrous rationalization authored by justices bought and paid for by the billionaires that would ultimately benefit from the batshit crazy holding.
