  1. You’re comparing a conference game to Rice lol
  2. We’re dangerously close to this being indisputably correct, without qualifier Chris Petersen doing the halftime analysis is fitting, there’s likely no one more intimately familiar with Sark’s underachievement
  3. And people thought it was Bama who would have to bench their QB next week lmao
  4. Definitely. It’s worth noting that the defense is at least holding up their end of the bargain. Of course, JT Daniels is known to be bad and it remains to be seen how they’ll hold up against P5 competition. Hell of a run by Brooks there
  5. I for one am shocked a guy who has been a HC for 10 years or whatever is still a mediocre HC!
  6. It was definitely odd to see everyone just assume strong QB play was a given. One of Ewers or the interior OL needed to make a very significant leap this year for the offense to be able to make up for losing a generational RB combo. Today doesn’t answer the question in totality but early returns are not good.
  7. Really though his facial expression/body language are terrible. 2021 OSU all over again. You’d rather that horn against Rice than in conference play but I really wanted to see him show more composure in general this year. Not good.
  8. They’re the same root issue.
  9. The nice thing about not overindulging in kool aid is this doesn’t ruin your afternoon. They obviously weren’t mentally prepared to play real football today and are sleepwalking. The outcome of this game will still never be in doubt because Rice. They’ll probably play much better next week. But the wild week to week variations in performance are the mark of a mediocre HC and will cost this team some games.
  10. I think the corner maybe got away with a PI in the context of what else has been thrown today but I’m not complaining
  11. Conceding that Sanders is a much better QB than I expected and Colorado’s definitely got a bit of talent in the RB room… TCU’s defense is just not impressive. They seem to have adjusted to key on the short stuff but the tackling is not good.
  12. Very impressed with Sanders at QB. Was going to say his downfield throws have left something to be desired but that was a dime that Hunter dropped. He’s going to be tough on a lot of defenses
  13. Looking a lot more like a Dykes defense than a Patterson defense now
  14. TCU should be fine defensively as soon as they adjust and stop conceding yardage by alignment. Make CU run them over or execute longer developing intermediate-deep passing concepts. Their offense however, not a great start
  15. Think it's more that he's just out a couple weeks at this point as opposed for the majority of the season. Omitting Neto entirely is the biggest piece of intrigue to me.
  16. So we've either got an injury or the first 2022 OL portal entry. Robertson at backup C over Hutson is interesting. I'm skeptical that's how it would play out if Majors actually went down (knock on wood). CJ Baxter first name in the RB room and Kris Ross ahead of Tapp on the edge. #eyesemoji
  17. Well that was a bad Texas team and Kyle Whittingham has a wee bit better track record as a HC than Sark
  18. I'd push back on last year's OL being a horrible liability but they should be at least serviceable, definitely a plus pass blocking unit, with a very high ceiling. There are two main questions, really: 1.) Is the interior, particularly the two guard spots improved? If they aren't, Texas is going to struggle to run on the better fronts on the schedule. 2.) Can head scratching assignment busts from Campbell be limited to a handful, or is that the reason there's a competition at RG and probably going to get Ewers hurt?
  19. Weird logic given TCU, you know, won a semifinal. A 12-1 Big 12 team is most likely getting in simply because it's not very likely there's 4 more unbeaten/1-loss P5 teams.
  20. Yep. Not much positive to learn from G5 games; maybe upper tier of the AAC excluded, but good chunk of that is in the Big 12 now. 2021 Texas nonchalantly controlled a ULL team that was 21-4 over the past two seasons, brought back like every starter including a couple NFL guys, and proceeded to go 13-0 after the Texas game. … And then went 4-7 the rest of the way. I remember that 2010 Rice game and having a bad feeling. I tried to rationalize it away but fucking around with Wyoming the next week made me feel like the team wasn’t going to be that good. Of course that was a relative term then and I’d never have expected what was to come in the UCLA game, let alone the next 12 years. But yeah I remember seeing and trying to deny the early red flags, which are about the only revelations to look for in these games.
  21. I was right about to say Florida looks as lost as a Strong team. Seen this movie but it’s also really wild to see it as a neutral observer
  22. Utah was wise to do the same ahead of the matchup with Baylor
