  1. For those of y’all with bad withdrawal:
  2. So umm… haven’t really read this thread. But I’m going to assume positive and that it’s been a series of healthy and vigorous discourse about this issue right? Right?
  3. It’s touristy but just walking along the canals is fun. If you’re into it, I also kayaked along the canals, it offers a view of the city from a different perspective. Also all the great modern architecture. I really liked exploring Christiania. Donda is a great restaurant there. Got to know the chef and it was initially a Mexican inspired seafood place. But now it’s Indian I think. As you can imagine he mixes technique with local ingredients. I’m a huge coffee nerd, so I was geeking out trying out all the craft breweries/roasters. Oh and beer, lots and lots of good beer.
  4. This is not fun at all
  5. Why wouldn’t I find it shocking if UK diplomats offered some piffle elements in the recent framework of a trade deal for this.
  6. I thought the whole institution was unnecessary and thought it was even more BS-y when (at the time?) their president Pano, was in a debate with a "liberal" counterpart at UT last year.
  7. Respectfully, I also agree with the sentiment and outcome of what you posted. But, when in history of anywhere, especially in the US, have people consistently done the right thing? There are absolutely legitimate criticisms of defining DEI policies in our universities or corporations that are not skin-deep lip service, and how to evaluate its impact, but human beings collectively behaving on a societal scale do not autonomously do the right thing.
  8. Apple TV is the best in my biased opinion.
  9. I guess other than Batman... I'm just not much of a DC fan. But... strong maybe of watching that in theater.
  10. You mean they don't all look like Bollywood actresses?!?
  11. Let's hope leadership (does it exist?) can make the call committing to a rebuild instead of thinking being average is simply the next step toward being consistently great again.
  12. Come on brain eating bacteria finishing the job!
  13. My experience from Star Wars Celebration doesn’t seem to show Disney is gonna forget/ignore SW. I get your sentiment but these things go in cycles… not sure why the doom and gloom here. Enjoy it! You never know if another IP or movie/show will break through with the fanbase and zeitgeist.
  14. Missing Japan so I made some Tamagoyaki (rolled omelet) and Japanese-style soufflé pancake. The soy sauce I used was darker than I realized and the technique for rolling was also harder than I realized but the taste was on point. The pancakes didn’t look as pretty as I had them there but they were sufficiently jiggly and tasty, lol.
  15. I didn’t enjoy the last season at all, but the Spain episode was fantastic. It had more of that spirit of the shorts from his talk show days.
  16. Yep, that’s what I hold out hope for. None of this is new. History fucking repeats itself.
  17. I mean both things can be true.
  18. A nepo baby I can get behind!
  19. In the Mood for Love… one of the most gorgeously framed and shot movie in my opinion, beautiful story too
