  1. Good Christian (I bet) that owns his vote. From the article: “Adam Squires, a onetime candidate for mayor of Kennett, saw it differently. He did not bear any ill will for Ms. Hui, he said, but he voted for Mr. Trump, as did 80 percent of voters in Dunklin County, and he was glad to see the deportation campaign reach home. “They vote for Trump, and then they get mad because the stuff starts happening,” he said of his neighbors. “We’ve got to get rid of all the illegals. This is just a start.”
  2. Ouch. With that said… I can empathize with As fan. I was on the BART going home from SF for the perfect game. And heard some drunk Giants fan say something like, “I don’t know if it was that impressive, Astros are not a major league team.”
  3. I look forward to the Tik Toks of Taco Man sung to Macho Man.
  4. Pouring in my neck of Leander but thankfully no hail.
  5. I can’t believe someone typed Technoking without trying to be funny.
  6. There is a place for AI in our lives... but boy is it gonna be messy while society figures out how to best use it.
  7. Oh, for sure. It is fascinating that so far, the majority of the TV shows are pretty darn good, but the movies have had a harder time finding pop culture success.
  8. Love me a good Dutch crunch sandwich. Boy, I gained some weight that first three months when I discovered that was a thing.
  9. Yeesh, sounds like Fountain of Youth is simply there to pad the content library.
  10. Yeah…for me I enjoy S2 more than S1 because it weaved a larger story from multiple viewpoints which appealed to me. So yeah… the seemingly backhanded compliment (my assumption) description of it as “people lapping up season 2 because it managed to live up to expectations” is really off for me. After watching the last episode and then rolling into R1. This has prompted me again to visit all the SW films. Warts and all, it’s just such a fun playground of stories.
  11. For those of y’all with bad withdrawal:
  12. So umm… haven’t really read this thread. But I’m going to assume positive and that it’s been a series of healthy and vigorous discourse about this issue right? Right?
  13. It’s touristy but just walking along the canals is fun. If you’re into it, I also kayaked along the canals, it offers a view of the city from a different perspective. Also all the great modern architecture. I really liked exploring Christiania. Donda is a great restaurant there. Got to know the chef and it was initially a Mexican inspired seafood place. But now it’s Indian I think. As you can imagine he mixes technique with local ingredients. I’m a huge coffee nerd, so I was geeking out trying out all the craft breweries/roasters. Oh and beer, lots and lots of good beer.
  14. This is not fun at all
  15. Why wouldn’t I find it shocking if UK diplomats offered some piffle elements in the recent framework of a trade deal for this.
  16. I thought the whole institution was unnecessary and thought it was even more BS-y when (at the time?) their president Pano, was in a debate with a "liberal" counterpart at UT last year.
  17. Respectfully, I also agree with the sentiment and outcome of what you posted. But, when in history of anywhere, especially in the US, have people consistently done the right thing? There are absolutely legitimate criticisms of defining DEI policies in our universities or corporations that are not skin-deep lip service, and how to evaluate its impact, but human beings collectively behaving on a societal scale do not autonomously do the right thing.
  18. Apple TV is the best in my biased opinion.
  19. I guess other than Batman... I'm just not much of a DC fan. But... strong maybe of watching that in theater.
  20. You mean they don't all look like Bollywood actresses?!?
  21. Let's hope leadership (does it exist?) can make the call committing to a rebuild instead of thinking being average is simply the next step toward being consistently great again.
