  1. I mean, when you're operating from such a weak & defensive position... Yeah it's a losing proposition here in TX in that nothing is stopping Abbott from calling another special session. But I hope this does galvanize the other blue state governors into actual action.
  2. As an Apple employee. Gross. But I also appreciate having a job for now.
  3. If it ain’t fusion, vast majority of Asian food in Austin is just fine or downright mediocre. With the exception of in my opinion of sushi omakases.
  4. Mmmmm… I get it Captain Pike. I get it.
  5. People’s needs and values change. My brother and sister-in-law live 15 minutes away from Minute Maid. I hope they never move. It’s a great place to crash when I go back to visit family, and I love the area. I’m in Leander/CP area now to be close to work (commuting in the Bay Area has traumatized me to never have a more than 30-minute commute again), and my next move, if it’s not back to Austin, is out of state at this point.
  6. Anyone got a photo of the buffalo posing over Asher?
  7. Loved seeing that immediate visceral reaction from Captain Batel.
  8. Might be an unpopular opinion but I really dislike Nurse Chapel as a character… despite how hot she is.
  9. Thanks for the resources! This is the game due to scheduling my friends and I are able to make as a group this season.
  10. We're starting to build a menu worthy of a Golden Corral here...
  11. But I was informed that he's right like 90% of the time tho
  12. We get it, you just hate Houston and that's ok.
  13. In another time period I would have posted this in Daily Texan but... it also feels appropriate here. But a really good article. When Immigrants Oppose Immigration
  14. Visiting family in Vancouver BC soon. My aunt recently retired and built a home in Blaine, WA. We’re all naturalized citizens. And now my parents don’t want to cross the border right now. What a world. I don’t have fast pass, border crossing should be a breeze with it being a ghost town right? 😂
  15. Who knew my future vacation plans to Europe and Asia may include historical sites, museums, and medical visits.
  16. this winning… let’s keep doing it
  17. That’s an awfully rosy outlook of what the blue states are though.
  18. It’s nice seeing this
  19. Maybe it’s because of the current environment we’re in… but the scout’s line of, “it’s nice to be nice” and the subsequent interactions really got me.
  20. Hahaha classic Peggy.
  21. Tonight would be a greaaaaat time to start
  22. There is a spectrum of selfishness and lack of caring that is bordering pathological for a lot of our citizens these days. And no… the ability to cut a 25k check to his local charity is not the only way to show you care about your community either. Which is the excuse a Trumpy-adjacent friend gives me.
  23. sigh….

I enjoyed it, and echo what many others have said that the retro future aesthetic is one of the biggest appeals. The suspension of disbelief didn’t bug me… the pacing did though. Just never really had a beat to process anything in the story.
  25. For all the excitement after the trades, this team in this series is just so feckless when it matters.
